dodge dakota with hooker exhaust

i have a 01 4.7. i put a cheep thrush muffler on it and i reallly lost alot of power and mpg. i was wondering if i should get a new muffler and which one? itd be sweet if someone gave me advice haha

alright thats cool, well what do you think minw would sound like with a single in dual out flowmaster would sound with a v6 3.9? actually today i cut off my stock muffler nand left the cat. on it sounds good and loud but drinks gas my friend said! but just asking for suggestions!

it just wont be as loud or as deep as the v8

but still should be good

flowmasters sound good on almost anything

hey man whats your setup anf how much did it cost? its a v8 right? i have a v6 3.9 and im wanting to put something on them and i was thinking about a single dual out flowmaster. what do you think that would sound like? i dont want it sounding like shit!!!! so whats your sugesstion?

yea its the v8

its cost around $450 for all the exhaust parts, and installation

which is actually pretty good

but i bought the muffler and tips off other websites and took them into a meinke shop

my setup is: airaid cold air intake, airaid throttle body spacer, and the exhaust system

those were $411 and some change

so the total here is probably close to $900

but basically on a v6 your not gonna be able to get as much sound and its not gonna be as deep

but a cai will make it a little lounder and it will rumble a little more

flowmasters should sound pretty good

you could probably find a video of that setup on a v6 somewhere on here

the only reason i didnt go with flowmasters or magnaflow is because around where i live thats what everyone has and i wanted something a little different

did you notice a difference with the throttle body spacer? i was thinking of buying one as i now a k&N cold air and flowmaster exhaust. wasnt sure if it was worth the price.

man my 4.7 ges about 24 crusin on a road trip on the high way with just a ram air on it however i am putting my aerochamber on tommorow and hopefully it sounds nice i want to set off some car alarms

What kind of milage are any of you getting with the V8 Dakota???

i have no idea

depends on a lot of factors

my best guess would be around 16 to 18

i would definently get the v8 over the v6 though

there isn't that much difference in the gas mileage as there is in power

i also just put in an airaid cai and throttle body spacer, which gives it about 15 more horses, and about 3 to 4 mpg's better

plus it makes the truck louder/sound better
