  • best toyota in the WORLD!

  • Looks like your driving in reverse when your in the Driver's Seat. lol.

  • I like the Car but I can't stand that front Spoiler...

  • some people commenty stupid shit like, when chriss goes to japan he will get smashed they will laugh at his spoilers and shitt than why havent they done so cause they cant,

  • chris rado looks like matt ferra

  • why do I seem to only see scion TCs with front mounted spoilers??

  • this wil go 'round corners @ 900 mph :O

  • 1.22 aint that good for an 1100 hp awd scion the mines gtr r34 did 1.21 and that r34 had 600 hp and no extra stupid downforce mega front/rear spoiler.

  • @tuned4life please dont flame this BEAST. im also a skyline fanboy, but this rapes it

  • @kevvsky talk for your self but im no fanboy and if it rapes the skyline why is the minges gtr r34 faster then this thing huh tell me ??

  • @tuned4life minges had no V-TEC, y0?

  • @kevvsky so your realy funny and no stupid ass mine's dont have vtec you can realy tell that your a fanboy go and watch your fast and the furious

  • @tuned4life it was a joke and i wasnt paying too much attention to the times, and actually i watched fnf 5 and it was crap

  • they should call this car The rape

  • but why build a scion tc? can never look at that car as anything other than a car that daddy buys for his daughter. i dunno, not talking shit on his build cause its really impressive, just a bad choice on what car to build IMO.

  • Why the front spoiler?

  • @iSwayzak front downforce. High horsepower fwd car.

  • @tyndago Its still fwd??!!!

  • @tyndago

    His Scion is AWD

  • @Tonyhotrod69 this car is fwd. He has awd and fwd now. However, when this video was shot.... more than a year ago, he only had a fwd car, was working on the awd car.

  • Chris makes himself look dumg by putting a spolier on the front of his car. Then he goes and breaks records with it.

  • @Chenstrapftw then he doesn't look so dumb now, does he? Chris is always pushing the edge. He is an innovator. And he "just wants to go fast."

  • @tyndago Yeap, why is it dumb anyways his car is amzingly fast breaks legendary cars. he just is a legend

  • @MagnificentMoreno dude are you serious dont you get why that mega front spoiler is dumb the only cars that i know that have front spoilers are formula cars this is just retarded, thing look like's crap if you would show this at a time attack event in japan they would laugh at you and say gtfo out with that retarded front spoiler.

  • @tuned4life

Well then, you still have a lot to learn about aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics in general. This car is the result of extreme engineering. It is physics at work in the most functional sense. And it is the their interpretation of an UNLIMITED class time attack car... in FWD. Strange as it may look... It still blows away everything on track, even a lot of RWD and AWD cars out there. Pure function over form... though it looks BADASS!

  • @delta4s no dude tell me this if this is so bad ass to you why isnt it faster the the mines gtr r34 with 600 bhp and no extra stupid mega 10 feet spoiler

  • @tuned4life

you do not get the point. I said it is faster than a lot of cars, with a few exceptions. As an engineer, I appreciate the methods that the World Racing Team has employed, though unorthodox, to achieve their goals. They took the challenge to maximize what can be done to a FRONT-WHEEL DRIVE vehicle and admirably set performance records in that class. The science that a lot of other teams use are fundamental across the board.

  • And look...Mine's GTR 34 - 1min 21sec, AWD... WRT Scion TC TA - 1min 22sec FRONT WHEEL DRIVE. The GTR has a clear traction advantage regardless of how powerful the Scion is in terms of horses. Gobs of power going to 2 wheels need a lot of traction help through aerodynamics & that is why that big wing is there.

No small sets of canard can give the needed down force. Plus the front wheels are doing tons of work moving AND steering the car... It needs all the help it can get.

  • The Mine's GTR is always great. But something like the WRT Time Attack Scion TC stands out more because of the uniqueness of the challenge. That is what is so great about their (World Racing Team) efforts... they know of the disadvantages of the vehicle layout but they willingly chose to make it the best it could be... and it is still evolving. Try to understand that It doesn't pretend to be anything other that what it is... a rolling laboratory for speed. And that is what makes it bad-ass.

  • @delta4s i get your point but still a 10 feet spoiler just doesnt cut if fwd or awd if you will bring this to a time attack event in japan they will laugh at you straight up and tell you to go home

  • @tuned4life

Actually, the Japanese would welcome this. They are a people who are appreciative of these kinds of technical endeavors. Many Japanese engineers prefer function over form. That is why the Super Taiku & Super GT series is filled with cars fitted with aero kits that are outrageous by U.S. standards because they are looking for every tech advantage. They actually would have thought of this given the chance. The Five-Zigen Accord has a very similar functioning front wing on its hood.

  • The Japanese engineers would understand right away what the WRT is trying to achieve. I can see that your perspective is from an aesthetic point of view. Nothing wrong with that. But in that level of competition aesthetics alone won't win track records. And that wing is probably 6.5 feet wide, judging from the wide-body kit. The shape could still evolve into a parabolic curve and could be made from carbon fiber if they become so inclined to do it.

  • If they probably followed the shape of the front chin splitter and tried to streamline the mounting brackets of the posts then it would have looked a lot better. As It is they went with a wing that they were familiar with in terms of performance (airfoil shape, chord length, down force pressures, angles of attack, etc.) and used it to minimize the variables that they were working with so that they could predict or estimate the performance gains to be made.

  • @delta4s dont think so i know they like function over form but i think even this front spoiler is to extreme for them

  • You'd be surprised what they appreciate and what goes on in their minds. Remember that the Japanese are also known for crazy stuff that mostly get picked on by the "normal west". Take a look at the "Bozoku" style cars among other things. Have an open mind. It can help in understanding what this is all about. Leave your preconceptions behind. The game is about creativity and innovation. Thinking and going outside the box. Its liberating. Good luck in your projects.

  • @tyndago please read what Chenstrapftw wrote, one more time :)

  • @Chenstrapftw

it doesn't mean that it cant break records without one...do f1 car have front spoilers? are they putting down force in the front?

  • @CaliCal68 f1 cars do have front spoilers tho? they just dont look like that

  • its fwd the wings suspose to b on the front to keep the tires on the ground

  • what tires are he using?

  • @RacsQT CONTINENTAL!!!!!!

  • I'm sure it serves its purpose but personally I would get really Annoyed with that wing

  • Sieht echt scheiße aus das Ding, mit dem Flügel auf der Haube^^

  • Chris knows what hes doing..... Hes breaking records

  • @MarcelE85EG exactly. Chris is doing his thing, going fast.

  • thats the most horrible thing ive ever seen!

  • If I owned a team like this. I would have them build me a romper stomper FWD tC and rice it out. then i would drive it around town and eat ppl alive. i would also keep the whole body stock. missing a fender.and ductape on a window holding it together.

  • Why the fuck do people keep talking about how the spoiler looks? That's the truely ignorant, unprofessionals right there. How about performance? ALL of these cars are about Performance. NOT looks! The spoiler works. That's all that matters.

  • all this is changed now. his new tc is awd and the spoiler looks like an extended bumper. Car is mad fast and looks intimidating too

  • Chris Rado knows the spoiler looks weird but it produces 1,000 lbs of downforce.....Function Over Form

  • so hard to believe it can be fast.

    but number is fate. right??

  • first of all, the front spoiler was not even Rado's idea. it was the world racing team owner. old british guy. second of all, that spoiler, and car as a whole is not much more than a genius marketing ploy. put a ridiculous spoiler on the front of it, give it 900hp so nothing can even come close to it on a fast open circuit, and all of a sudden, everyone knows who "world electronics" is.

kudos to them for catching the attention of all the sheep.

  • The wing does look stupid but Chris knows what he is doing and if it didnt work then he wouldnt do it.

  • @KizerSusay it does work. The car is fast.

  • @tyndago I don't think that rado have made a Finite element analysis on that wing, an either have take in it to a wind tunnel so....

The Ciber evo from Japan runs very fast and don't uses a wing in the hood and runs with a street soft compound.

  • @187JCA the Cyber Evo is fast, and its all wheel drive. Honestly, Chris' FWD Scion, would be just a couple seconds off the Cyber Evo. He did a1:46 at Buttonwillow, and a 1:21 at Big Willow. Look those numbers up, they are fast.

  • @tyndago actually the tc is awd too

  • @beyond305 The tC is not AWD. It is FWD. They do have an AWD tC they just built recently though. However, the tC in this vid is FWD the way all tC's come. It has an AWD chassis configuration though.

  • @187JCA are u FUCKING dumb? how stupid are you. the cyber evo is AWD and this car is FWD. how hard is that to grasp??

  • @KuostA you're the fucking asshole because the fuckin scion is AWD now.....read kid read.......grasp that

  • @187JCA I met the lead engineer of the project (cant remember his name, but he was a british guy) at import alliance 2009 and we talked about the car for quite a while. he said they did all the necessary engineering on the car including FEA's and CFD's (which i think you were talking about, i dont think you were worried about them twisting the wing uprights). there has been a huge amount of money put into this thing, and i would be surprised if it hasnt seen a wind tunnel at least once.

  • spoiler on the hood??? look stiuped

  • @kondziaaa123 but its fast.

  • @tyndago I know but look stiuped

  • @kondziaaa123 apparently your concept of how spoilers work in relation to cars is flawed. google is your friend

  • @SabahAlev I know how the spoiler work

  • @kondziaaa123 so then be quiet.

  • anyone who puts down this car knows jack shit about racing, aerodynamics, purpose-built vehicles, and cars in general... end of story

  • @bassman8290 All except for the guys who know *more* about racing, aerodynamics, purpose-built vehicles, and cars in general. Consider how some engineers/designers will look back 40 years from now and laugh.

  • @jgizzy Rado had trouble with the car pushing out of higher speed corners a lot, so they came up with a splitter design which didn't help. Then, the old huge "Fwing" he had on this 2010 model, which for sure worked as he set almost every FWD record there is at a track. I'm sure if these front wings they equipped onto their tC's were not functional, they would have removed them as it would just be dead weight. But it's been there for like 2 seasons. You need to get your facts straight.

  • @ProTuner06 Secondly, I would like to know which "facts" I do not have "straight"? This is particularly confusing since your last post plainly suggested that I didn't even talk about any facts. I believe if you're being honest with yourself, or could read my first post a little slower, you would see that my words make sense. And lastly, the details of the developmental history of Rado's car is irrelevant to my first post. Plus I already knew most of that anyway, and I respect the car very much.

  • @bassman8290 Finally. Someone that acually knows what he is talking about. @jgizzy that comment made NO sense. How about you stop looking into the future and you talk some acual hard facts. The spoiler works and it's already been proven. His new AWD scion tc has a front spoiler and is pushing 1400HP on the STOCK MOTOR. Your just another hater talking shit. Btw, those engineers/designers are laughing at your idiocy. Who the hell do you think built that spoiler? Professional engineers & designers!

  • @ProTuner06 LOL whoa dude, pull your reins. Let's get this straight before you have a fit. First of all I wasn't being a hater or talking shit, I was stating a truth. In the future, engineers and designers WILL recognize or invent more efficient methods than the one on Rado's car. My point was to counter bassman's 'blanket statement' by suggesting his unwavering certainty is actually an either/or fallacy. Do you get what I mean? And please don't take me for a fool, it's obvious who designed what

  • @bassman8290 no it just looks fucking stupid why else would put about what would it bee 1000 hp in a fwd/awd time attack car and a mega spoiler get real try to race with out that mega spoiler and if you then still clock good times then you are the man not like this

  • @tuned4life i have a theory; i think YOU'RE stupid because, first of all, you don't know how to use punctuation when replying to someone you don't agree with. secondly, you know jack shit about cars because, if you did, you'd know that everyEVERY purpose-built race car uses SOME method of putting downforce on the front tires whether it be in the form of a modified front bumper or even a retarded looking spoiler. how about you go learn something about cars and THEN reply back, sound good?

  • @bassman8290 haha first of all i dont care what you think and second off all i think i know more about time attack/car then you goodbye

  • @bassman8290

I agree with tuned4life, because if you really wanna have a big 10 feet spoiler on the front you have to considder driving formula1 or some other formula racing series. If he is a real man he should race with a less overpowered car and with some normal aerodynamics, like canards and splitters like the real men do. This is just some pussy ass racing with a wing from a boeing 747 on the front.

  • @justinsupras92 Here's what you don't understand: racing has NOTHING to do with "being a man" by leveling the playing field. It's about having the fastest damn thing on the track and knowing how to use it, period. All of this with regards to class restrictions and such, of course, but obviously Rado is within those boundaries because he's racing.

  • i think most people here posting dont understand the situation, chris rado has drag racing roots which means sacrificing all to get the fastest time, even if he has to put up with that god-ugly wing in front for time attack.

  • forgive my ignorance but wtf with the spoiler in the front what the guy ho did it thught it was a rear wheel drive and didn`t notice till was to late

  • chris has a stalker

  • that wing looks so stupid i love it

  • This is going to be one very fast Time Attack car...

  • @SuperlapAustralia This one is the front wheel drive car. Its fast.

  • 1000whp never looked so good!

cant wait to see this car in some more action and the new awd tc too! there going over the top i love it

  • AWESOME video, thanks for posting!

There is NO WAY to achieve that amount of downforce on the front tires without a F'wing set up; and if you would look, the front bumper has been heavily modified for more than just downforce.

There is NO ARGUMENT about it; if your opinion says, "The F'wing is ugly", thats fine... but your opinions have NOTHING to do with the massive amounts of aerodynamic and engineering knowledge that went into this FWD dominator.

The set up is pure function, screw form

  • It is a very big wing

  • this man has one of the top besr cars

  • i don't wanna sound like douche bag but why doesn't he turn down the boost and fine a better way to get down force... i get the whole idea of having all that power to the front and trying to put it down but that wing in the front looks like a huge distraction there proballly alot he can do with the underneath the car to gain more down force

  • Chris is the guy that drove the first front wheel drive car to run a 6 second quarter mile time. You might as well ask him not to race as turn the boost down.

  • @MK4bora28l buttonwillow has really long and fast straightaways where power is necessary.

  • what are they trying to proof?

FF can be as quick as FR? or MR?

  • As quick or quicker. 1:22 at Willow is smoking fast. The current time attack record is a 1:18 for that track. Chris wants to get the Scion down into the teens.

  • "what are they trying to proof?" (prove)

They are not trying to prove anything; they just want to continue making insane leaps forward as far as FWD performance progression, and thats all they care about, making their FWD car go quicker and faster.

  • Is this still FWD? Cause that must be getting alot of torque steer.

  • Yes still front drive. It makes something insane like 900 hp. On the straights, he hits the scamble boost, and it sees 30+ psi. The big front wing helps to keep the front wheels from spinning, but it still does spin. Chris says sometimes at 160+mph.

  • Couldn't the front bumper be modified to give downforce ??

  • you must be deaf! it was near the end of the film.

  • damm thats a shit load of downforce

  • 1:22 at Willow Springs is a lot of speed.

  • yo check out the semi..they must be balling..at World electronics...and huge front spoiler...that's a nice idea.....

  • Wow... tire warmer..... I wonder how much money toyota spend on this

  • sounds like a jet plane!

  • wtf the cars not even on....
