  • HI all the cake pops pans on eBay only come with one tray and one lid, were did you buy yours from, I live in Australia and am very interested in this pan.

  • @italianstylezzz Bought directly from Bake Pop website. Link in description.

  • when you are using boxed cake mix use milk as follows 1 cup of milk 1/4 cup water. Also add an extra egg, but forget about the pudding mix it will only prolong the baking time. My pans are great, I love them have used them on several occasions and friends can't get enough. I did use a small paring knife to trim up the edges of the pops and they were fine. If you have never used candy melts before follow the directions exactly. As for whether these are real or not... who cares.

  • these arent even real cake pops

  • Now you have mushroom cake caps :D

  • Does anyone have a good doughnut hole recipe that works well with these pans?

  • that worked great, thank you!

  • I want to like this pan, read the reviews, followed the recipe perfectly and my pops did not come out like spheres!!! the bottom half looked great but the upper half had a funny shape. are you all using half the cake mix, one extra egg, and milk instead of water...what am I doing wrong!!

  • @MsBenni73 Yes, i used the entire cake mix, an extra egg, milk insyead of wtaer, but cutting the liquid amount in half. For example, if the recipe calls for 1 cup of water, you use 1/2 cup of milk, then add a box of dry pudding mix. The batter will be very thick.

  • I didn't have the cooking spray, I greased and floured the old fashioned way, and I used a spring-handled cookie scooper to get the batter in neatly. Made for nice, uniform balls! Thanks for posting, I had to poke around a bit before trying out my new gift husband bought for me! I used to make them the "other" way. I like this method much better. I also used frosting when I ran out of melting chocolates

  • delicious !!!!!!

  • this fuckin video took fuckin long to load

  • ok, i use my bake pop pans on a weekly basis. Ive NEVER had trouble with the candy coating, so I dont know wha tthe issue was there. And you need to bake it for 25 minutes, but lower the temp to 325. Also, a neat trick, once the are cool, use an apple corer to take out the centers, fill with your favorite mousse, pudding, or frosting, put sticks in, freeze, then dip...AMAZING!!

  • cake pops are normally compacted icing and cake. that's why the bake pops were soft for the chocolate. try baking a cake, crush it up and mix it with some cream cheese icing and then rolling them in a ball.as for the chocolate try putting in a little bit of shortening to soften up the texture. hope this helps.

  • Seems like too much work....I would rather just bake a cake.

  • nice attempt. and they look yummy lol

  • I don't always use sticks either since that can get a bit expensive, mini cupcake liners make a great use for cakeballs. They have various designs on the paper too.

  • @KissHope Good tip.

  • @stinkylungs

Have you found a recipe that works for these and makes them a little more dipping friendly?

I bought the pans because my niece wants cake pops for her birthday cake. However, both my sister (her mom) and I despise cake pops. Too sweet.

These seem like a good alternative as it is just the cake with candy coating.

  • @rogersjml The recipe instructions that come with the pans works best. Its a regular cake recipe thats altered to make it more dense. Also, if you let the pops cool slowly, they wont be soft like mine were and should be more suitable for dipping.

  • @stinkylungs

Oh, I guess mine doesn't have the instructions. I bought it at Walgreens and the package was opened. It has 32 plastic sticks. 1 set of pans. and 4 yellow clips.

  • Thinking maybeif you turn the cakes over and put the stick in the darker end...or return the pan to the over uncovered and bake another 3-4mins to let them brownon top. Might make them a little sturdier, I would add 1/2 tbl of shortening to the melted candy coating to make a better vicosity to dip in. Btw if you have one of those untensils that makes meatballs looks like a 2 sided mini ice cream scoop, it makes the other method of making much quicker.

  • Comment removed

  • @THEJAW03 Its a good thing your opinion means zero to me or you might have hurt my feelings. So please, by all means, SLEEP.

  • what r those yellow things

  • for the icing i sudgest you add lil watter appossed to oil

  • The uploader of this video...

    Her name is stinkylungs...

    Why?

  • @BrickChickens I'm a respiratory therapist and I deal with stinkylungs for a living. Just my lame attempt at coming up with a unique screenname. :/

  • I think for someone who only does this once in a while this is fine, but I do this for a living, so I guess i'm just use to it. its not as time consuming as when I first started I can do about 300 in a day.

  • @theleosaucedo Holy cake pops, that's a lot! Definitely, these pans are not for someone doing this professionally.

  • my friend's aunt made these for my friend's birthday and they turned out great! she made them without the pan..she made them by hand and what i'm trying to say is u r wasting ur money on this thing..they dont turn out correctly and doing them by hand takes longer but it turns out wayyyyyyyyyyy better!

  • @hbui65 And what I'm trying to say is and have said before, I will agree, the traditional cake pops are better, but more time consuming. Also, these pans can be used for more than just cake pops, so in my opinion, they're not a waste of money.

  • @hbui65 with all that icing? yuck, It's too sweet for me.

  • @TadaKiba The candy icing is super sweet! I liked them better with regular frosting.

  • use paramount crystals for thinning of thick chocolate.

  • So timbits on a stick ?

  • @jessicahamsterlolz - Sure. Why not? Although these pans were not specifically made for donut holes, I've used them for other baked items and I can't imagine why they wouldn't work for that.

  • @stinkylungs timbits dont have holes.

  • @113mac113 I didnt say they did. I said timbits are donut holes, not timbits have holes. Donut holes are sold and round.

  • @113mac113 they do if you poke a stick in them!

  • so mini timbites you canadian folk know what im talking about

  • @airsoft911full lol you copied that other comment.

  • that red M&M jar looks so cool

  • timbits on a stick. canadian guys know what im talking about

  • @MegaElectric1000 You stole that from the infomercial. Dumb.

  • @MegaElectric1000 Did you make that comment on all bake/cake pop videos? lol

  • It's funny how the finished product never looks like the product on the infomercial.

  • 4:23 did nobody see what was wrong there!

  • @barngirlishere Do tell.

  • @stinkylungs You put them in the freezer before you dipped them which is where you went wrong.

  • This could actually double as a takoyaki pan! Score!

  • I am extremely jealous you have this!! I want bakepops!

  • did you put it in the freezer after the oven? maybe that's why they're soft?

  • @0RedTree0 Yes, you are exactly right. They were soft because of the condensation from hot to cold. Just allowing them to cool slowly will fix that. Good observation!

  • I liked it when you said "they're kinda funny looking....like little mushrooms."

  • Thanks so much for this review!

The other things you made in it... were they your recipes or theirs? If they were yours, did you have to alter them in any way? Thanks:)

    BOP

  • @BirdOfParadise777 They were my recipes. I will be posting videos of those soon, but no, I did not have to alter those recipes since denseness was not a requirement.

  • Wouldn't they crumble? I've seen people put icing in the actual cake and mix it in..making with these won't allow you to do that step..

  • @Kataangg because the recipe is altered using an extra egg and pudding mix, it makes the cake more dense and so it doesn't crumble easily.

  • why wouldnt you include the end product with icing? Did I miss something?

  • @meandyaya1 I was in ahurry to get them to the school, so no, I did not get the finished product filmed.

  • I made these earlier , there awesome !

  • I also have a tip for melting the candy. I put the chips in a tall glass. The one I use is actually an icecream sundae glass. And then 30 second intervals in the microwave to melt the chips. When it is melted, set the glass in a pan of hot water. This helps with the nightmare of a large bowl thats too shallow for you to dip the pops in :) Happy cake making!

  • @potpie1987 Thanks!

  • i can make 18 cake pops for like $27 and with the babycakes thing i can make 12 for $25 it just dosent make scents?

  • @ColorfulCupcakes76 1 box cake mix $1.50, 2 bags of candy melts $5, 1 package Wilton lollipop sticks (50 count) $2, sprinkles $3, all of which will make 36 cake pops = approx. $12. Why does yours cost so much?

  • PS....

Henry's Market (Sprouts) has THE BEST melting chocolate (in bulk) BY FAR!! perfect melt every time and deee-licious chocolate

  • nice tip for melting and dipping goodies in chocolate...use a small crockpot and stir occasionally

  • these things are not the way to make cake pops... there are recipes much easier and much faster than doing them this way. good job on the wilton sticks though.. it's the best way to buy them unless you have a cake supply store nearby

  • I can suggest a different way to melt and dip candy so it doesn't get hard. I always melt mine in a pyrex bowl over a saucepan of boiling water. Once it is melted, I take them both to the counter to dip stuff. The hot water keeps the candy warm and melted. Just make sure the glass bowl is bigger than the saucepan and the water isn't supposed to touch the bowl.

  • @fall22123 Thanks for the tip.

  • i freaking love your counter!!!

  • @jodievik1 Thanks. :)

  • they look like chupa chups.

  • Where can I get this? I just want the tray for Takoyaki :D

  • @yogurtmantotherescue Bakepop.com, walmart, shopko, CVS, and other stores now carry these pans.

  • this is NOT how you make cake pops. You must add frosting to the cake! Not just cake and candy melts. This is the stupidest way, and not perfect quality cake pops. but.. if you want to buy that... it sells in walmart and cvs..

  • @Annaluvsdasims2and3 To each their own. I find this way less time consuming.

  • @Annaluvsdasims2and3 You don't have to be rude. People do things differently. And FYI a lot of the time people only use the frosting to hold the cake together. If you cake is moist enough to form and hold the shape or you have pans that can make the shape for you, you don't necessarily have to have the frosting. You'll just end up with a ball of mush.

  • @Annaluvsdasims2and3 I've had those before but they are entirely different. You're saying her apples are wrong when you are talking about oranges. You made an ass out of yourself too. Congratulations.

  • Madam I have a question where did you bought that cakepop maker, I couldnt find it at the website written above

  • @amaoj - bakepop.com The website is correct, I just checked it. They also sell at walmart and other stores now, too.

  • I have the baby cakes cake pop maker and it works really well

  • 3:12 LOL

  • @TheMusicInOurLives :). They were funny looking.

  • naturefairynux u can use muffins and crumble them thats what i do

  • 'In the commercial it looks so much easyer, and they don't tell you there the thing that you need to chance a few things... but they look good. you could try dipping them into hot melted chocolad and then something like coconutpowder. thanks for your revieuw.

  • @NatureFairyNux melted chocolate worked out okay. So did just frosting them.

  • I bought the bake pops pan, and it didn't turn out well at all. They didn't even turn round on the top one, just stayed a half below.... I heard it's easier to just make a cake, crumble it, add frosting, and roll them into balls. I didn't see the add extra egg though, or the pudding mix, so I guess I'll try that next time, and see if it made a difference. though, seems difficult to dip. o...O Good job on yours though. :3

  • @Yuubishouki11 I will admit, traditional cake pops are much more rich and sweet, but for me, they are so time consuming. I had a really difficult time getting the cake to frosting ratio just right and so the pops were either to heavy or not sticky enough.

  • @stinkylungs Actually, once you get the hang of it, the cake pops don't take much time at all. I've been practicing for almost a week now for hours a day, and I get better and better. Most of what I learned is to put as little frosting as possible, just enough to get it to stick together, and then make them somewhat small, to take off the heaviness, and dip the stick in the melts before putting them in the ball to make it stay, let it harden, then dip, and voila, pretty awesome. :3

  • i have one, if you decorate it ON the stick it isn't very successful. I decorate them and stick em in

  • @ajaxthedog1 Good idea.

  • id buy it, but i would also use it to make takoyaki.. so its not a "single use" kitchen item. mutli-taskers are great in the kitchen, and would be fit for alton brown..

  • @ChiiSan09 - Yes, I agree. I am using them for other things as well. I will post videos of those ideas as well.

  • if you think about it qith the parts that were out you have even more !

  • yea the ad made it a lot easier

  • i thought each pan made 28...........not 18

  • @mudpup36 I've seen the commercial that shows the larger pans. I think the bigger pans were the first generation or older ones. Not sure, I just know mine make 18 each.

  • @stinkylungs oh

    ok!

  • This is great I just have one question did you just add a whole pudding mix? Or did you do something else

  • @thuringwethil93. Yes, One box of dry cake mix and one box of dry pudding mix.

  • @stinkylungs Thank you so much!

  • Now with the cake that splooshed out of the top, you can use to make more traditional cakepops :P

  • @Yoachan I bagged them up and my husband snacked them all up! :)

  • Thanks for doing this tutorial. I hesitate a little when I see these infomercials because they make every thing seem to perfect. Last couple of thing I bought from those TV ads did not come up like they do on TV so it's nice to see your side of it. Those "lips" as you call them are not seen on the TV ad, see what I mean? Thanks for the heads up :o)

  • @forevamala Its always helpful to actually see the product in action to make an informed opinion about it. When I bought these, there were NO reviews on it at all, and my reason for making the video.

  • WOW great tips. I just got this for Christmas and wouldn't have taken time to read the directions about the spray and the substitutions for water instead of milk and the pudding. I can't wait to try some now that ive seen your video!

  • @crazy4crafts - i'm glad the video helped!

  • looks like wayyy too much work

  • i would stur it better so it turns out how you want it to be and P.S. was this your first time because it was a really cool video

  • @mhls123 Yes, it was my first attempt at using the pans. Thanks!

  • I was hoping someone did a review. THANK YOU!!! Very helpful.

  • you could also buy a cake mix that has already pudding in the mix pilsbury has that type of mix

  • @gir46765 - i didnt know that. Thanks!

  • Hello! This is a great review, we love how you went step by step to show how you actually use the Bake Pops pan to make cake pops. We will put this up for our viewers to see because I am sure they will appreciate it as well :) Thanks!

  • @BakePops - Thanks.

  • Thank-you so much for posting, very helpful

  • I just bought this pan at Bed Bad and Beyond, but since I didnt had the puddin mix, I tried to do it like it says in the cake mix box, but I always substitude water for evaporated milk. They didnt came out round like in this video =( , they ended up looking like acorns. I need to try making them like it says on the instructions.

  • I can't even find another review on this. Thanks for posting!

  • @anazsa - i hope it was helpful.

  • Every product on tv should have these reviews! So many products either dont do what they say they do or do it so bad and let you down! This works nicely as it looks but like everything on tv, you cant get it as perfect as the ppl on tv do!

  • How long did it take to be shipped to you? They say up to six weeks! That's a long time for a cake pan.

  • @904VIRGO - yes it was a very long time, like 6 weeks. They dont charge your card until its shipped and they did offer tracking once it shipped.
