Laura has a lot of character defending Mrs. Oleson, whom she dislikes a lot, against wrongdoing from the students, even though she wants Mrs. Oleson out and wants her teaching job back. That is a true sign of integrity. Being kind to a friend is easy, but defending an enemy from wrongdoing takes effort and fortitude. Kudos, Laura!
@333cecilia People from all walks of life, no matter what their ages, can fall in love with this great family show. I know I did around your age... In fact, I was 12. Anyway, you're welcome for the vids and I am glad you ar enjoying them. : D
lov neal s Liveing in the real world , and harriett , well she living for something money and all the face crap cant buy , when you grow old together , to let life andall that you lived thru come full circle , . Just saying too many people try to look young , and end up looking more old and creepy for it
Yes I just thought that. Don't know how often I watched this but it's first time I noticed. probally because I watched "Back to school" with the cinnamon chicken incident yesterday....
@ArwenPendragon I agree - the whole exchange made me laugh out loud! I hated aspic (and still do really) and the idea of "speckles". He is quite lost!
Laura, your hot as hell blonde hunky husband is apologizing to you in a soft, contrite voice and you just stare ahead and continue to correct him. No. You accept his apology then devour him sexually. HELLO.
@ChildOfTheSettingSun well, yes, it is pronounced that way. the H sound dropped, unless it was someone's name, then it would be pronounced with the H sound.
@babylover0990 Lol. I just find it strange... I'm not from America. So, do you say "Ouse" (House) and "Appy" (Happy) or "Ungry" (Hungry)? Why would you doit for some H's but not all of them?
haha! Almanzo sounds like my brother when he's try to impress my mum that he ate everything for dinner.( "I finished all my chicken, I ate the skin with it")
LOL! Almonzo commented to himself that he thought he liked her cinnamon chicken better...Remember when she was making it for Nellie to give to him? She purposely used cayenne pepper instead and it was wayyyyyyy spicy hot. I love the little references of back episodes from the characters. That happens alot in the little house series. Thanks for posting :)
Funny that Laura quit teaching anyway after Rose was born. She never complained about being bored after that. Also, in those days, she would not have been allowed to stay on as teacher while pregnant.
@Cathie8791 - You are correct. They would never have allowed a woman to teach while she was pregnant, but if I'm not mistaken, most women had to quit teaching when they got married. Wasn't there an episode in which Ms. Beadle quit when she got married?
This epi makes me so proud of Laura; she stood up and did what she knew was right. She spoke the truth in spite of her own desires. And as things turned out, she got the teacher's job back anyway! Unselfishness pays off in the end, doesn't it?
I like Laura's dress.

Laura is much more mature in this portion of the episode. She is very gracious considering Mrs. Oleson is so mean!
