Laura has a lot of character defending Mrs. Oleson, whom she dislikes a lot, against wrongdoing from the students, even though she wants Mrs. Oleson out and wants her teaching job back. That is a true sign of integrity. Being kind to a friend is easy, but defending an enemy from wrongdoing takes effort and fortitude. Kudos, Laura!

LOL! Almonzo commented to himself that he thought he liked her cinnamon chicken better...Remember when she was making it for Nellie to give to him? She purposely used cayenne pepper instead and it was wayyyyyyy spicy hot. I love the little references of back episodes from the characters. That happens alot in the little house series. Funny that Laura quit teaching anyway after Rose was born. She never complained about being bored after that.  Also, in those days, she would not have been allowed to stay on as teacher while pregnant.
