Something says 'strange' to me that one would search and find a spectacular vocalist who sings in a Christian band......that is singing a secular Christmas Holiday song......and have any valid opposing opinion.

I don't listen to rap because I don't like it and would have nothing good to say about it...so I don't search for it and then comment on how bad it is!

Johnny Mathis is one of my all time favorites, and Mark hits it out of the ballpark, Hilarious! This Christmas song just has a special place in the heart at that time of the year, as well as the Christian Christmas songs. What a blessing to see the vocal band perform it!

Yeah, the "2nd guy" is Mark Lowry, who wrote Mary Did You Know. He does a pretty darn good impression of Johnny Mathis, adding that funny catch in his voice, and then whacking himself in the head to get it out.

If anyone is having a problem with this song it is probably the mentioning of Santa in it that has some Christians perplexed. Deal with Santa like my family has, and we are pretty straight-laced, he is only a myth like Mickey & Minnie Mouse, and Cinderella and the rest of them and something to have fun with.

Besides, there is a marked difference between secular and sinful. For instance, "Gibberish" by Relient K (A Christian band) could be considered secular. Not once is any reference to God made in that song, nor is there any spiritual application whatsoever. It's just fun to listen to.

I think Christians singing secular music is ok. Happy birthday is a secular song. I am a Chrisitan who loves jazz music. I am aware of the lyric content and always make sure it doesn't bring shame to the Lord's name.

Oh...so I guess Christian writers can't write anything except "Christian" books, Christian pastors can't talk about anything except the Bible, and Christians can't see any movies that aren't "Christian." You're logic just seems rather legalistic to me. God judges people's hearts. i think a lot of people dont get that when they sang a whole new world they were sheading a christian view on it. "a whole new world, a new fantastic point of view, no one to tell us no or where to go or say we're only dreaming....let me share this whole new world with you" HELLO?
