One of the most underrated bands of this time. "The Music" could've been THE soundtrack of this decade mixing rock with dancefloor rhythms. But the music industry chose to suck the dicks of strokes, white stripes, libertines or franz ferdinand and all this crap.

@ciffi The thing is that there are only a few rock bands that can manage to create a good modern sound. The only ones I know are Muse, Placebo and The Music. So it´s quite logical to rediscover the sound of the times when rock music was at it´s best (50s, 60s, 70s) because there just isn´t anything bad about that music. Whereas a modern sounding rock bad can sound really bad.

I've been fortunate enough to see this band live a couple of times and they rocked both times. In fact, they were without a doubt the best band at Lollapalooza. They made those losers on the main stage sound like shit.

i loved them around this time .the new albums pretty good but i think they had something real special around this time and before then they went over the top with the tourin and burned themselves out. ive tried to get into the new album but it doesnt move me like the dance. too high(e.p version). disco etc.i think rob harvey was more natural back then and got lost in the music. now his dancin looks a little rehearsed.any1 see them back in 2001-2002 and know what i still rate them/him thow.

Let's clear up a few things, guys.

1.) The Music left Virgin/EMI, not the other way around.

2.) The band *were* close to splitting up, but it was due to difficulties in progressing their own writing.

3.) The third album has been recorded, mixed and mastered and will be out later this year, probably June 2008.
