What I find interesting is that Dobbs (even after his expulsion from the network) reveals that CNN does NOT manipulate or editorially control its content to give a certain message. If anything, they wanted to get AWAY from editorial/commentary type programming and go to pure objective newscasting. I find it also interesting that O'Reilly asks a few times (not once), because he seems bewildered such practices don't go on at CNN... I'm sure Bill is used to a much different environment at Fox !

The US (and Canada as well as most democracies) puts too much strain into parties. Forget political parties; how is it possible that everyone within the same party has the exact same views?

People want opinionated hosts. They make the shows interesting. Watching cnn and the others are boring. The hosts are not asking you to watch the show, you can watch it if you want to.

However, respected news organizations such as the BBC and Al Jazeera (the biggest in the world) have very little or no opinion at all. There are different forums for different things and people need to know what is going on and decide if they agree -or not- on their own.

What I find interesting is that Dobbs (even after his expulsion from the network) reveals that CNN does NOT manipulate or editorially control its content to give a certain message. If anything, they wanted to get AWAY from editorial/commentary type programming and go to pure objective newscasting. I find it also interesting that O'Reilly asks a few times (not once), because he seems bewildered such practices don't go on at CNN... I'm sure Bill is used to a much different environment at Fox !

As a Canadian looking at all of this, here's my take:
The US (and Canada as well as most democracies) puts too much strain into parties. Forget political parties; how is it possible that everyone within the same party has the exact same views?
Next, media like this is NOT journalism. Journalism is reporting, this is telling. Bill O'Reilly seems to be pulling at strings here to make CNN look bad

freedom of speech is great only if done responsibly. the "journalists" who spews opinion as a basis for a news show and uses emotional structure rather than factual points needs to go. Dobbs uses his platform to trigger a flame of ideas that creates perception rather than truths. @Evasively This is precisely the problem. It is good to have opinion pieces much like you would find in a newspaper. However, respected news organizations such as the BBC and Al Jazeera (the biggest in the world) have very little or no opinion at all. There are different forums for different things and people need to know what is going on and decide if they agree -or not- on their own.

Lou believes we need immigrants he just thinks they should be here legally and if they aren't they should be sent back and if they commit a crime they serve time and are then sent home and will not be able to come back. He has been close to the issue for years and wants the immigrants to be able to become Americans.
