  • This isn't the 8 Days of Hanukkah. The 8 Days is posted on my Builitin.

  • Sounds like Hatch just copied and pasted the Wikipedia entry for Hannukkah.

  • that looks like my teacher Ms.Shcheifele

  • Holy Smokes, how long has Orrin been in office...it seems like forever. Is the guy going to get wheeled out of the Senate in a procession? I guess Utah has their own version Strom Thurmond.

  • שיר מקסים!! אתם מוזמנים תמיד לארצנו היפה ולראות את הנרות בירושלים... תודה רבה!

  • Yep...thats all it was. And to know that one of our Representatives is carrying Torah close to his heart on a regular basis makes me believe in all that this natioin was originally designed to be. A nation of FREEDOM. (Praying for the peace of Israel) Shalom

  • Hahaha! Is this from Tim and Eric?

  • its a good song

  • @Compy01 I am Christian but I think you can't just burst into someone else's beliefe and force them to changeyou have to shoew them with your acts. ACTIONS.

they sell shirts in israel bragging about destroying them also

  • so beautiful

  • Why would they need a song whn that guy was probably there when they burned the oil.

  • Excellent song! I really like this vid. Thnx. Shalom

  • good job orrin!:)

  • It is the best feel good hanukkah song ever.

  • i love it !

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of the most catchy songs i ever heard!

I love it and besides i'm an atheist, buts i love the jewish religion,

Their theories make more sense to me than the teaches of koran or the bible

    ever could.

  • Orrin Hatch for President in 2012! Not only is he an articulate leader who understands what our country needs, he's a statesman and a man of peace. He clearly understands that the message of Hanukkah -- freedom and liberty -- is the cornerstone upon which America's was founded, and this is why America is a "light unto the nations." On top of all that, he has real talent as a songwriter!

  • This reminds me of when our 3rd grade sang a hanukkah song which kind of had this beat. GREAT SONG!!!!! ;)

  • I hate khankuah or however you spell it causes so many house fires!

  • Very nice song. Catchy beat

  • so touched and moved!!!

  • Serinjoanne, thanks for the making a distinction between December 25 and 25 Kislev. The early church fathers made alot of mistakes, but wanted this connection. I am so joyful Yeshua did not get it wrong, when He fulfilled prophecy.

  • You act like one.

  • This is great. It's about time we had a little Hanukkah. Next season I expect to hear this in department stores, sandwiched between Silver Bells and Rudolph! You go, Mady and Orrin

  • Its great. absolutely great

  • I am a atheist!! but I like jews they have goes though so mush yet they still stand strong and tall!!

to all anti-jews! fuck off, u assholes try to wipe the jews! but failed failed failed!! and you will be failed AGAIN!!

  • Love the song! Have many Jewish friends and I know that they enjoy this song. HAPPY HANUKKAH....my friends!

  • This is pretty cool! The lyrics are really great!

  • These people hang around on any site that has to deal with Jews. They lurk in the shadow as they have done for centuries. My good advice is not to comment to them for they are not there for discussion but rather for the opportunity to spread their hatred. To put it into its proper perspective, if you shoved their brain up their rectum it would sound like a BB in a box car.

  • A great song, Sen. Hatch. Thank you.

  • The one thing that the Internet clearly illustrates is how much we have wasted on education in this country. This country is litered from one end to the other with morons experssing opinions that illustrate a low class mentality and the same diseased minds that have led to the death of millions over many centuries. What those speaking in the negative know about hsitory, if it did not make one laugh then it should ceratinly make us weep for what we have sown. God help us all.

  • Really a great and moving song. Thank you.

  • How great! I love it. It is about time Jews and Christians unite. December 25 165 BC was the date of the feast of dedication! How many Christians know that??? More rugelah for everyone!

  • @saladshop

There was no December in 165 BC. The date is 25 Kislev, according to the Hebrew calendar, which has nothing to do with the Gregorian calendar, which came into use much later and which we use today.

  • @serinjoanne

I don't want to split hairs, but not everyone uses the Gregorian calendar. I'm protestant, and celebrate Christmas on the 25th (although the majority of the partying is done on the 24th). My girlfriend, however, is catholic and uses the Julian calendar. She'll celebrate on January 7th according to the Gregorian calendar, and will have university lectures on both the 24th and the 25th of December.

  • Its fun and wonderful

    Thank you all!!

  • Hanukkah is not a miracle... The Jews just made a miscalculation of how much oil they really had.

  • It wasn't just about the oil. I was also about the destruction and rebuilding of the temple. Not to mention the resilience of the Jewish people.

  • Aside from the oil, how else was it a miracle??

    OH WAIT...

  • @surgednb

It was the first fight for freedom, showing that right wins over might.

  • @surgednb

It was the first victory for religious freedom fought by a small group of Jews against the huge army of the occupying Syrian-Greeks.

  • Nice. Now that IS a freakin' miracle. :-P

  • Jewish friends, some might be amazed that Senator Hatch is wearing a Mezuzah. Remember the commandment leading to the wearing of the Mezuzah was given to Moses about 1492 BC (Deut. 6:4-9). There were no Jews at the time of Moses, but 12 Tribes, so this was a commandment to all the House of Israel. Orrin is of the Tribe of Joseph, so the wearing of the Mezuzah, while not customary, should be looked at as a fellow member of the House of Israel honoring his literal Jewish blood brother.

  • Thank you senator! G-d bless Israel and America.

  • The crude and rude comments in this posting about Jews is amazing to me. It speaks loudly about how much blind hatred there is among too many people. Such individuals will never find peace in this life or the next unless they repent and expunge the hatred from their soles. People from many cultures have made many great contributions to the world. Arabs, Jews, Chinese, Americans, Europeans, etc. Let's stop the hatred and all love one another.

  • Its not blind, its an educated opinion. Once you educate yourselves on the subject and see exactly what these people are involved in, and have been doing for the past 2k years, you will realize how correct we are.

  • Read the Bible....you will see that Jesus was Jewish, from the line of King David

  • Israelite does not equal "jewish" Israelite is a BLOODLINE, determined by the father, jews track their heritage by the mother, see the big problem here?

I can claim to be the prince of France, but it doesn't make it so, any more than Jews claiming to be "the chosen ones" makes it so.

The Israelites followed Jesus and Christianity, the impostors didn't. They are Edomites, Canaanites, Khazars, mixed with whatever local population they are residing with.

  • OK fine, Jesus was an israelite and was Jewish. Your point above might argue (incorrectly) that not all Jews today are descended from the original Israelites, but clearly Jesus was Jewish, and descended from Israelites, or at least he claimed to be so. If you have any doubts about this, please read the Bible. I have read the whole thing cover to cover.

  • Jews are not Israelites, they are Edomites, Canaanites, and Khazars, mixed with whatever local host they are residing with at the time. Jesus was not a Jew, he protested against all the various sects at the time, and taught other ideas, what became Christianity. Judaism follows the same traditions of elders that he strongly opposed then, and went even further with them. They put them in a book called the Babylonian Talmud.

  • Yahshuah was of the TRIBE OF JUDAH so He was most definetely JEWISH and above all HE IS KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. YAHWEH made flesh. HE is THE LIGHT of which Chanukkah represents so CLEANSE YOUR TEMPLE and let GOD be the centre of your worship once again.

  • Tribe of Judah does not equal "jew". I can say I'm the cousin of the queen of england, it doesn't make it so.

  • Educated opinion? It depends where you got your education, dummy. Probably in madrassa.

  • Thank you for the song senator and your solidarity with the people of Israel.

  • jesus for us-i'm catholic and italiam-was generated, not created of the same substance of God,so he wasn't jew,he was a part of the unicum.

  • May be you should open the Bible for once (to get your facts straight) instead of spending your time on youtube

  • This song is bumpin'

  • For a Jew, you're not as intelligent as you think you are.. You still have not answered

my charges about your "Jewish" style of expressing yourself. Use of language is one thing...use of certain distinct expressions & semantics is a very ethnic oriented thing. Dig? Anyone with an ounce of brains can see right thru your disguise. You also have not commented about your being cirkumpedsized! Fess up Hebe!

  • When will he write a song about the USS Liberty?

  • He wrote a very nice song...chag samaech...Happy Chanukah

  • Investigations have already proven that this guy JewsWrecckNations is really a Jew! Hah!

Go ahead check it out for yourselves. This is the way they make you feel sorry for them.

  • is actually pretty good. not bad for a mormon

  • Beautiful and the joyful tempo is so in keeping with the holiday. Thank you Mr Hatch. You "hatch"-ed up a great one!

  • Awesome, just awesome the lyrics and music are just amazing? Jesus is a Jew and I love this song!!!!!!!!!

  • Really nice song! Maybe you people are jealous that Jews were the first religion..like Judeo-Christian refers to Jews-Christians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesus was a religous JEW..have you forgotten this?

  • The Vedic tradition in India (what most people call Hinduism) is the world's oldest (and still extant) religion. I do believe the origins of that tradition go back some 3500 prior to Judaism. I think Shinto (Japanese polytheism/nature religion) is also far older AND STILL EXISTS. Judaism is pretty young on the scale of world religions.

  • And all of Europe had its indigenous traditions that some people are trying to reconstruct....see Asatru

  • The Hebrew religion technically goes back to 4000 BC and comes forward to Moses. Many people forget there are 12 Tribes of Israel and the Jews come through the tribe of Judah. While Moses was given the Law and dates back to 1492 BC, the religious history leading up to what some now call the Jewish Religion has roots all the way back to Adam and Eve.

  • But yes, I think many Christians have forgotten that Jesus was Jewish. There was no such thing as "Christianity" during his lifetime.

  • Technically you are correct, and followers of Christ at His time and in the first century after His crucifixion were called "Saints," not "Christians." Do a word search on the King James New Testament on Saint and on Christian and see if I am not correct.

  • Price: no no, it's not really necessary to verify the term of "saints" vs. "Christians" for the earliest believers. Canon Richardson at the Episcopal church I attend already discussed that with us at All Saints Day. All one has to do is look in the letters of St. Paul; he addressed the faithful as "saints" and naturally, he wouldn't have been talking about "St. Francis" or "St. Barbara" or "St. Patrick" at the time, would he? :)

  • Tango2romeo, In reading the New Testament, once a person was baptized as a member of Christ's church they thereafter were referred to as Saints. They called themselves Saints. It was the Romans mostly who called members of Christ's church "Christians." not the Christians. It was not until hundreds of years after the original Apostles that the Catholic church and other factions of this religion starting using the term "Saint" to refer to an outstanding religious person. Check it out in Bible

  • Fabulous!!! I really enjoyed this!

  • Senator Hatch wrote this song at the request of a Jewish friend. This was in the late 1990's. He came across the request recently and decided to fulfill it, Shalom and Happy Hanukkah, Orrin for writing this uplifting song. Have a blessed Christmas, too.

  • To: JewsWrecckNations,

Does Jew mean the Jewnited States or the Jewnighted Nations fum Jew Jork?

Jew gonna get yer Jew ass kiked...by Suz208. I think jew are a jew, but jew won't admit it. Fess up jew! Betcha jew are even cirkumsized! Hah!

  • You obviously have learned nothing from history!

  • post tis again under your real name. its easy to be be a bgot wen you can hide behind a screen name.

  • haha thats awesome!

  • Senator Hatch's main motive was probably to get some attention and sell his Christmas CD from a couple of years ago. His secondary motive was probably to get Barbara Streisand his singing Jewess idol)to record this song

  • To the Jes hater below: Read Winston Churchill. Nations were all uplifted by the Jews. Your hatred is blinding and no massiah can cure this type of blind lunacy..

  • Thanks a lot Hon. Senator Orrin Hatch for the lyrics of this song. Writing legislative bills and lyrics must be your passion. Keep on writing. Happy Holidays/Festival of Lights.

  • להאמין לחופש ולחירות לכל לעצור את האנשים לשנוא ולהתפלל לשלום אוהב ישראל לכל מי לחגוג את חסידיו מן המשיח. חנוכה שמח, לחיים!

  • Yeah, but you're forgetting that black people were in America before the white man.

  • @samuel17517

    @samuel17517

I assume you're kidding. Where did you come up with that lunacy? Part of the college curriculum now entertains the notion of dual migrations from both Asia and Europe, insofar as the peopling of Paleolithic America (north and south) is concerned.

There is nothing on earth to substantiate your Afrocentric assertion.

  • Hatch should have done a rap verse in autotune.

  • Senator Orrin Hatch rocks!!

  • Excuse me you idiot....I'm not Jewish nor am I a professional victim. Everyone on these posts however can see exactly who you are. You probably have a giant swastika tattooed on your head. Thank God people like you are in the minority. Guess we have to put up with your kind to make normal people look good!!

  • You know, it's really a shame about the swastika. Buddhists and Hindus use it as a sun cross, to represent the light of the sun. It was also a very noble German sun cross also, before the bloody Nazis went and screwed it up for everyone. Damn them. The swastika should be reclaimed as a positive solar symbol, not as a sign of oppression and bigotry. But it might be too late for the poor swastika.

  • You are absolutely right about the swastika. I know that it has a long positive history. Leave it to Hitler to twist it into a symbol of bigotry, hatred and genocide. Maybe one day when humankind has evolved enough spiritually, it will once again be used in a positive manner.

  • God Bless the Jewish people. They have endured enough hatred and antisemitism. If it were not for them, would Christians have Jesus?

To have lasted thousands of years as a distinct people is a miracle in itself. What other group can claim that? Surely that's the hand of God!

  • They have lasted in spite of hatred towards them and Jesus was a Jew born through the lineage of King David who as also from the Tribe of Judah. The term Jew did not come into existence until about 300 B.C. Recall that Pontius Pilate has the Roman soldiers place a plaque about Christs head while he was on the cross that said. Jesus Christ, King of the Jews. Anyone who says Christ was not a Jew is woefully ignorant of the writings in the New Testament.

  • Although Price, you might get a laugh out of this: there are many people in the Wiccan and neo-pagan world who DO say things like "Jesus Christ was a witch." And they claim that his 12 disciples plus himself, which makes 13, is one bit of evidence that he was a witch. Is that about the most insane thing you've ever heard??

  • If you want to hear even worse things said about Christ, read what the Sanhedrin Council said about Christ before they forced the Romans to crucify Him. Christians forget that almost all the early members of Christs church were Jews including the original 12 Apostles and Paul. The entire New Testament was written by JEWS. Jews worshipped Christ, laid palm branches in from of Him and welcomed Him as their Messiah. It was the Jewish leadership who were threatened by Jesus, not the people.

  • Lies, yes Paul was a Jewish Pharisee, the others were not though. Jews persecuted Christ and Christians back then, and still do today. Who are the ones complaining about Christmas decorations and "Merry Christmas"? Who are the ones constantly bashing Christianity via their media and Hollywood? Who are the ones that tell us we cannot have a cross on government property or prayer in schools?

  • @ExposeZionistCrimes

You can have your merry Christmas, and I respect that, but please respect my beliefs and heritage and don't force your beliefs on me. Christians have persecuted the Jews for 2000 years. Who are you to say that my beliefs or anyone else's are wrong or that I will be punished because I don't believe as you do?

  • As Serbian (Christian) Orthodox I wish Eight Days of Hanukkah to be blessed LIGHT

    ברכות לכולם חנוכה שמח. לחיים!

  • Thank you melioped and I wish the same to you on all of your holidays. G-d Bless You.

  • I see that love is in the air. Nice song. Enjoy Chanukah

  • Happy Hanukah to all our Jewish friends!

  • Antisemitic tool time on YouTube. For the love of G-d tabletmag, turn off the comments.

  • YOu must have a miserable life if this is all you can up with. I almost feel sorry for you.

  • You are inappropriate and people like you drown in their own hatred. I feel sorry for losers like you.

  • hanukkah isn't abullshit, you know nothing about it!

you dont see me say that you'r hollidays sucks- cause thy don't.

  • You people are a bunch of sick morons, You see any Jewish-rated video as an opportunity to display your crude, profane, and hateful nature. You are incapable of simply enjoying a good song by a great singer. And if the kids in this video ever wanted to experience the joy of seeing themselves in it they can forget it since these comments are laced with your profanity and ignorance. Grow up!

  • Is this Mad Tv?

  • in the hanukah tradition can one still get presents or no?

and if so do you get presents for 8 days in a row? or just a few presents on the 8th day?

  • Every family has their own traditions. Some family give their kids presents each night, some don't. etc. There are even the "really, really religious" Jewish families that don't give/get any presents on Hanukah- they view it as an idea taken from the non- Jews on Christmas but many many Jewish families don't go by that.

  • What the hell is Hanukkah ? Sounds dumb. I dont like it.

  • Okay are u fukking serious. Ur ansestors were Jewish. Until that mofo hitler came and all that jesus crap. im not saying i dont believe in him, im just saying that hes not as powerful as everyone says. Hanukkah is something OTHER THAN UR FUKKING STUPID ASS CHRISTMAS!! YAAAYYY CHRISTMAS TREE. Fuc,k you. im sick of these stupid americans that dont know anything about their culture. The world started with jews. period.

  • Word of advice: don't ever try to defend the Jewish nation- you just can't do it properly that your actually just an embarrassment to it. I hope you will take this into consideration. and btw american is a nationality not a religion, have you actually never heard of a Jewish American? Now whose the stupid on now.

  • "The world started with Jews. Period."

God is a Jew?? Since when, I ask you??

  • Suggest you pronounce Chanuka with the gutteral 'K' for the 'Ch.'

  • Senator Hatch, you truly have performed a mitzvah in writing this song. Although I don't agree with your politics, I agree with your heart and your good intentions. this is just a wonderful song. Thank you so much.

  • We gave Christians a better deal when Irving Berlin wrote, "White Christmas."

  • lol ok, true, that's truly a classic, but this one is cute and gets the little kids involved, so hey, it's all in good fun :)

  • Not bad for a Mormon. The lyrics are a bit lame, but the tune is catchy, and I like the minor key. Still, I can't help but think fondly of Adam Sandler ....

  • Adam Sandler was soooo funny in that SNL sketch. It's fabulous.

  • Kol hakavod, senator! Beautiful song!

  • I love it--can't get the tune out of my head. Thank you, Senator. God bless you.

  • Thank you Sen Hatch, great job, the song is wonderful!

  • I live not far from San Diego how many "friends" in all of San Diego are you talking about? 1,5,20,1,000-5,000, 10-25,000 a lack in numercial repsonse will be my answer.

  • do you eat lemons for breakfast, lunch and dinner mr sour puss?

  • This is one of those things that seems nice on the surface, but is underlying creepy.

  • Hey, martha54321a, the only thing creepy is your obviously far left wing, man-hating, traditional values-bashing self. That's right, Marty, you sound like a sour, disgruntled Obama worshipper. Why don't you go back to watching videos about stupid organic farms if it makes you feel special.

  • Moshiach now!

  • @juditt7 P.s. I think it's the *nights* of Chanukah that is the point of the festival of lights...

  • It's interesting to me, that a man who does not believe that anyone outside the LDS faith will be in heaven( which is the LDS teaching) is writing a song that is Jewish. I applaud that Jews are God's chosen people. I do not applaud those who do not even believe that Jews will even be in Heaven, writing a song for Jews about a Holiday that LDS followers do not even believe should exist. Comparison:Wiccan witches writing a song about God. Blashphemous and ludicrous.

  • well, I suppose to be fair, Jews don't technically believe in heaven or hell, sooooo I can't say I'm all that insulted to be brutally honest

  • As a member of the LDS church, I can assure you that we do NOT believe that only Mormons will go to heaven. Just yet one more myth perpetuated by those who don't do their research. If you want to learn about the Mormon church, TALK to a Mormon. Your negative response is just one more reason we have so much dissension in the world today.

  • You are certainly entitled to your opinion.

I see this as a gesture of goodwill- if Senator Hatch's musical efforts offend you, well, I certainly hope that that is the worst thing that ever happens in your life.

Of course, atheists are quite ecumenical in their attitude towards the afterlife- since they don't believe in Heaven, they figure NOBODY is headed there.

  • A song about peace and religious celebration being ridiculed by ideological religious bigots is sad. i applaud the Senator. We need more of this. Rock on!!!

  • Perfect !

First Dylan does "It Must Be Santa" , now this.

    The best Hanukkah ever !

  • For a goy, I think he did a pretty good job.

Now maybe he can learn to at least shake a tambourine or something.

  • awesome song... that makes a grand total of one creative senator-- if only teh rest of them were so open-minded

  • This is SO WRONG. I think we've got good Chanukah music covered thanks. Oy, Goyim.

  • Lucy

Your ridiculous attitude is what creates and spreads anti semitism. Oy, Ignorant people!!!!

I'm not political, just appreciative of peaceful and creative gestures. Bravo Senator Hatch! Frankly, I don't give a rats ass about his motives and the song doesn't provoke hostility as your stupid remark does! The singers were excellent. Lucy...take a chill pill, K?

  • Actually, it's really offensive. It's disingenous and condescending. It has nothing to do with the tradition of Chanukah music at all.

People shouldn't exploit groups they don't belong to for political leverage. Doing so by laughing at that group is even worse.

There's nothing peaceful about this. It's a disgusting marketing tool, and I hate the fact that a homophobic, hateful, bigoted idiot is using my holiday against me.

My original comment, however, was just snarky and about the music.

  • Listen Kiddo, we are on the same team. I surely don't want to create hostility or upset you. In some ways, I absolutely agree with you.I understand truly, your passion about this and apologize for not looking at your point before "getting all Judge Judy ". It's just that the Goyim comment can easily be replaced with words like Kike and Nigger and that's very harmful. I'm sorry that I got a little heavy mouthed with my comment. Can we be friends? Let's not let the haters win at our expense

    Nancy

  • I appreciate that. Just so you know, Goyim isn't a slur necessarily. It really just means anyone who's not Jewish- it's just yiddish for "gentile". In fact I can't say I've ever heard it used derogatorily, except with sarcasm/snark/tounge in cheek.

  • Yes I'm aware of what the word means but in the modern context it has become derogatory. I enjoy the creativity of You Tube and there's a lot of talent and humor out there. I just become uncomfortable when it becomes a nonsensical political forum or an excuse for people to attack each other. I'll end by saying that it's too bad that the melodic and expressive language of Yiddish is dying out for lack of use. Let's all learn Yiddish and let the politicians eat drech! Be Well, Lucy!

  • Actually, the word Goy is Hebrew for nation. In the Bible The word Goy has been at times applied in reference to the Jewish nation. Over the centuries it has come to mean anyone from the other nations. There is nothing prejorative about the word itself, Like most words, connotation depends on context and usage. Now a
