dancetech - After private beta testing, I bought Record and thought I'd add a few things to what you've already mentioned. The racks are unlimited. I was surprised about that, but they (like the number of audio tracks) are unlimited in number.
Another great thing will be shown to you if you open up Activity Monitor and bring up a CPU usage window. Distribution over all cores is just about even! Compare that with some other programs and you'll see what I mean!
... hold the phone. Apparently it has no MIDI-out. So how do you control your external gear?! MIDI has been around since wheels were square, every bastard audio program since then has has MIDI functionality & the Prop's leave it out of Record?! WTF!!!!
Good video. Record is looking very good. I wasn't that interested at first but I'm warming to it now. It's reviewed in the current FM magazine. I've not read it but they seemed to be pretty stoked about the whole thing.
this is the real thing!

So in record, you can make your own loops from samples and such. does that follow through with drums? Like a drum machine? i.e. Fruity Loops?

there is NO way this will replace cubase. Don't get me wrong, both are fucking great software, but cubase is still better no doubt.
