@LavaEagle actually, the movie does kind of like in the sense of "Dear Prudence," which was written by Lennon to Mia Farrow's sister, Prudence, who like in the movie, wouldn't leave her room but it was of different circumstances. hey jude was written by Paul to John's kid, Julian, or Jules, after Lennon and his wife got a divorce. This was before Yoko.

If you're finding realization it lies more-so with the movie as opposed to The Beatles and their music specifically. The movie was astoundingly well done, but it's akin to something like that of an electronica remix of a popular radio song. To your (and the director's) credit, Across the Universe did serve as a medium to interest a younger generation in The Beatles, which is great.
