I think that Iginio Straffi is a genius! I also love Huntik alot.

... this man... created such a corny...rediculous show that tried to copy sailormoon and failed from the all the absurd looking villains, terrible henchmen, WEAK heroic characters... no depth in character exploration and relatable themes beyond cliche...its sad.

I wouldn't say "COPIED". More like,"INSPIRED". All I can think of is how they transform which makes it kinda like Sailor moon. Could you explain to me why you believe that they have no depth and why you believe this was copied from Sailor moon. I guess some characters have similar traits but in mostly ALL shows for little girls, there's always the girly girl, musically talented one, tomboy, smart one, fashionista. I can think of many shows like this. One is My Little Pony FiM.

@KousAB10 Villains are very similar especially in the 4th season, winx just has very generic ones, also the new fairy "Roxxie" is what sailormoon was early on, the character depth is a very underwritten one, the writers try to appeal to teens using very basic scenarios and unrealistic responsonses to them. Why I hate this show is they focus too much on what they look like exaggerating the transformations with extra poses and unneeded shots equaling not growth in power at all.

They dont even have a specific theme/ Where or what symbolizm is there with Bloom and the dragon.? Serena has the moon, and moon based attacks. Bloom has the "dragon fire" from? is she asian (stereotype I know) does she have any relevance to chinese dragons? no. Goku atleast is an asian styled martial artist and the show is about the dragon (originally) so his "dragonfist" is relevant in someway.

@KousAB10 The show has god awful voice acting and unlikable characters other then bloom who wears a cliche'd prologue behind her. This is a poorman's sailormoon, (which has WAY more depth then this show)

As a anime fan for well over a generation, I'd like to personally THANK YOU, Senor Straffi, for the Winx Club. At first, I thought it was a mere tribute to Sailor Moon--it kinda has most of the conventions--but, as it went on, it became ONE ON ITS OWN. And, a worldwide treasure, too.

I worked with this guy (Iginio) and his insane wife (Joan Lee) -- they're the worst people you could probably meet. Greed, greed, greed. They treat their employees like dirt and don't have any respect for the little girls who love their products. Very, very sad. Straffi didn't actually come up with the WINX idea, it was a young woman called Cristiana who now works for Straffi and only gets about 2000 euros a month -- whle Straffi gets millions!
