Yeah these credits were the UK Gold credits, using the full theme used on all episodes at the time (weekday and omnibus editions having the same length theme at the time apart from low cast episodes). As can be seen on the other videos, by 1999 UK Gold had slightly altered the map credit to the full view and also started using the slightly sharper and clearer updated theme from the early 1990's (1991/92 I think)(aswell as cutting it short rather abruptly at the end!- altho it kinda works lol))
I wish they aired the longer version these days. I know the omnibus get's a little longer on Sundays, but it's nowhere as long as the version they used back then.
When UK GOLD first launched in 1992 they started repeating Eastenders from the very start. But didn't they go right back to the beginning again somewhen around 1996-1997?
UK Gold stopped the first run at around the episodes of May 1994. And then after a summer break went back to February 1985. The second run has continued on and off ever since. At the moment Watch have stopped showing the episodes and so the run is stuck in June 2006.
Thanks for uploading this.
Out of interest, were these credits specially made for the omnibus on UK Gold? Was wondering because of the fact that the picture doesn't move.

Notice how the drums are much stronger and prominent in the pre-1994 credits. It gives you a certain feel of urgency.
