To be honest with you, the only flies I tie are the ones that I fish with. There is one particular river in Wyoming where this fly can't be beat. But usually I tie them in a lighter color to represent the golden stoneflies.
Thats a good looking fly. i tie flies mainly for the fun of tying them. So i have no clue what color stoneflies are. Typically im a bass southern bass, bream, crappie catfish, fly fishermen. Are they typically that color? Have you fished with this fly?
Great fly, it looks easyer to tie than a kauffman stone.
