Well, I've never seen the anime, but I read the manga. It's amazing~ There is definitely copius amounts of bloodshed and fighting. Some romance thrown in there. Um, there are some rape-ish scenes and torture scenes, in the manga at least. They are not afraid of showing a lot of skin, lol, specially on the kunoichi. xD It's good though and very worth it!

He's yashamaru, the first iga ninja you will meet in the first episode in the anime, he uses some nylon string, it's a bit different 'cause those string are kinda magic, if i remember well he got those strings from female's hair, maybe from hotarubi's hair ( hotarubi is his girlfriend).

He got a very nice story with hotarubi, he's a very cool char, a lot shonen like, i prefer hyoma for the koga and koshiro for iga clan...

Well, still, if you compare many works of say, Studio Ghibli it far suceeds in entertainment than many of the movies produced by Disney today and even during the past. I can still as a grown-up enjoy watching My Neighbor Totoro but the love in movies that I saw as a kid such as Alladin is gone. The production value is just so different, because in Japan anime should be for everyone, not just for kids and therefore cartoons tend to be dumbed down in the West.

Now the japanese anime My neighbor Totoro or many other child or child friendly animes yeah i say the anime wins out. since they usaly take more time to buld more onto everything. While walt disney dosnt make continues storys or go much beyond clichee or known worlds. so they dont creat much. it all feel dispoable and that who they are aimed at kids.

Onmyouza did a wonderful job in this song. No wonder the producers of Basilisk picked the song up as it is definitely based on the original novel. The gore and battles are definitely cool, but what takes the cake is its seeming faithfulness to the majority of the novel. The movie Shinobi has its merits as well (having included my idol Kuuga and Sadako just being one), but Basilisk trumps it for sure.
