I guess you are talking about the Selection Distress. It used to be a part of Script-fu. However, in the later versions, you can find it in the menu "Selection". Look for "Distress". Good Luck!
Thank you for this elaborate answer. I am aware that the tutorial is not suited for beginners. I think I also warned the audience about this in the video at some point. If you have any questions, ask, please. I will be glad to help you.
actually lightning occurs mostly between storm clouds, but when it does strike, the -particles in the ground travel up to balance with the + particles in the cloud so lightning does strike up, not down. it is a common mistake people make.
I think yours and Enselics videos are great, I like the lightning style of his, the background of your first lightning, and the lightning size of your second lightning. I know English is your second language but you speak it alot better then people whose English is their only language. Keep up the great work!!
could u of used an english version of gimp i got confused when i got up to the part where u chose what hue u want. Can u plzz make another video with an english version of gimp.
very nice job. you speak english very well.. and the tool "spruhpistole" is called "Airbrush" in english. and... is there anyway to do the second one without using "skript-fu?"
I liked it, but Eneselic's tutorial was easier in my opinion. Also what kind of GIMP (version) did you use? Cuz in 2.3 & 2.4, we don't have Skript-Fu, we got filters...
Thanks. Now that you said it, it seems totally obvious to me. Wasn't the torch light also called flash light in American? Hell, I stayed there for like a year and still didn't figure that out. Again, thanks for telling :-)
To be more detailed, flash is when everything lights up with no distinct source, the sky goes bright for a split second. Lightning is the big jagged line of light...as you would already know. And thunder is simply the loud sound..as canadia said, "The boom"
Well, let's say: My personal ignorance. I've been several times to English-speaking countries but never heard anybody say the word GIMP. Hmmm, if you are able to understand German you may wait for my upcoming tutorial. I'll promise that a GIMP and no "Jymp" will be featured there ;-)
Thanks for the reply! The second way of doing involved some really cool techniques.
If you want the GIMP to show English names of stuff, set the LANG environment to 'C' or perhaps 'en'. Google for 'lanugage gimp windows' for the details (should be the first hit).
I'd like to know why the guy cant just change his language settings to english since he doesn't know and can obviously speak it pretty well

How do you "subtract" from a selection with the rectangle tool?
phantom666music 2 years ago
By pressing Strg/Ctrl while marking your selection.

u had a question: what the difference between flash, lightning and thunder
Flash only the light, lightning is lot of these "forms" jumps down on the ground, the thunder is the sound of the lightning :D

It might be called filter pakket in Dutch.
Also it can be found in Colors--)Filter pack in the newer versions. Hope it helps
Greetings from Berlin
PS: If you have problems writing Englisch, you may try writing Dutch, for I can understand it quite good (yet cannot speak it very well).
PEAKTOP7CEMb 3 years ago
Why don't you just install the english version of GIMP?
Dann hast du mit den Übersetzungen der Optionen keine Probleme mehr :-)

Sorry to dissapoint you: I am seriously lacking time right now and the next tutorial I planned will be in my native language.
PEAKTOP7CEMb 4 years ago
For better understanding:
The tool „Sprühpistole" is the airbrush tool.
The filter I used then is the filter-packet.
After this I used the cloud-filter for the second layer. The layer mode is "dodge". English ain't "EZ" ;-P

Keaterpeter 4 years ago
You could certainly draw the distressed lines manually. But it is definitly easier with the Skript-FU ;-)
PEAKTOP7CEMb 4 years ago
i found a way. go to Select.. then go to distort. its the same thing thanks tho

I uzed 2.2.13. I heard of the newer versions a while ago, but was told, that it wouldn't be worth upgrading.

By the way: Filters and Skript-FU ain't the same

Hmm, how do you upload videos > 10 minutes? Seems as if I can't :(
Enselic 4 years ago
You typically need around 15 subscribers, dunno how he did.
DMXell 4 years ago
I uploaded the video. It's just that simple. I only realized afterwards that I wasn't allowed to upload that much. Better ask the yT-crew...
