1) He ran away to Merv and stayed in a house of a man who killed him at night while sleeping.
2) He was killed by people in Merv after getting fed up of him, before they kill him he asked them to not to do so, as in Zoroastrian beliefs it's a sin to kill kings, so he asked them to send him to the Arabs because they don't kill the kings, but people ignored him and choked him to death.
Yazdegerd got support from Turko Tatar, who did support him, but eventually neglected him.
Later he asked for help from China, but the Chinese king refused when they saw how few worriors were able to conquer the Persian empire, and they advised Yazdegerd to accept a peace treaty with the Muslims, but Yazdegerd refused and so did the Chinese neglected Yazdegerd who ALWAYS carried his treasures with him where ever he went. I'm more Persian than you, I don't use much of borrowed Arabic words in my dialect, nor I use the Dari version of modern Farsi which Ferdowsi revived. I use an old dialect of Persian language based on the Pahlavi language, even the grammer used is OLD.
OLD PERSIAN = ACONAVAM
OUR PAHLAVI DIALECT = ACONAM
MODERN PERSIAN = MICONAM
The "a" for present tense is used in the old Persian grammer, unlike the "mi" which is borrowed from Khorasani dialect.

Great kings always leave good reputation. Muslim historians praises Cyrus the great, they praise Khosraw Anooshirvan, but never did for Yazdgerd, regardless any religious beliefs.
Zoroastrian was believed in Islam as a monotheistic religion, thus Jizya was introduced for Zoroastrians. This was a sign of respect because Islam accepts Zartosht as a prophet of God with a holy book.

Yazdegerd death has several versions, the main two were as the following:
1) He ran away to Merv and stayed in a house of a man who killed him at night while sleeping.
2) He was killed by people in Merv after getting fed up of him, before they kill him he asked them to not to do so, as in Zoroastrian beliefs it's a sin to kill kings, so he asked them to send him to the Arabs because they don't kill the kings, but people ignored him and choked him to death.

Later he asked for help from China, but the Chinese king refused when they saw how few worriors were able to conquer the Persian empire, and they advised Yazdegerd to accept a peace treaty with the Muslims, but Yazdegerd refused and so did the Chinese neglected Yazdegerd who ALWAYS carried his treasures with him where ever he went. No, he was not barbarian but the most just leader ever. Islam brought light into Iran, it took Iran out of darkness and brought them to lightness. The Iranian society before Islam was very bad. Yazid was a cruel king thats why the Iranian people embraced Islam with happiness and accepted Umar (ra) as their leader. When Iran embraced Islam, they produced the best scientists ever.

You are making a big mistake. Iranians never claim to be europeans. They have their own culture. They are of the Aryan race though. and only some europeans have Aryan blood, the rest are Slaves, Germanic, and Romance. We do, however, share some features, and we are all linguistically and genetically close to each other, and all belong to the Indo-European branch of people. and contrary to your beliefs not all of the Iranians have black hairs.

He ditched his own nation and ran away with all the treasures of Persia that now you find scattered around northern regions of Iranzamin. then the change, which has to come over time, must affect individuals from within. Religion has been one of th ekey problems for Iran since ancient times. I don't think the solution is to adopt Zoroastrianism or christianity, it is to do away with the obcession that so many Iranians have with the whole religion and God issue and just practice it within themselves if at all. That's the first step.
I don't know any country that successfully achieved a democratic system that had religion in it

In the case of any other belief system, I would say yes, because secularism, with time and self education lead to doing away with dogma and rleigious theocracy like Europe did in the renaissance.
