Definitely not true about the lighter weight divisions. Yes, speed is a great advantage, but a heavier fighter with the same level of cardio will outlast a lighter fighter because of the huge difference in energy spent trying to sweep someone 20-40 lbs heavier. Not to mention those one-hit wonder punches the heavyweights tend to bank on. Those would crush a lighter opponent. I think middle strikers would do well, but now that a lot of middle weights win by takedowns, I'm skeptical..

Mirko just needs a few tune up fights which the ufc doesn't do. A few tune-up fights and then he's said himself he wants to come back, I think he views it as a challenge now which is good. He really needs to work on his style in a cage though, that was his big downfall I think.
Though he was robbed in the Kongo fight, two really nasty crotch shots and no points deducted from kongo? ludicrous.

i may have not undertood thus properly but my opinion is that randy has just fucked the ufc off, he's seen the bright lights of hollywood and wants to be a movie star! he's bit the hand that feeds so to speaks! randy is a great guy, seems a top bloke in interviews and an all round nice bloke but it just seems a bit out of order leaving like that! apologies if i'm wrong!

randy didnt leave the UFC cause he didnt want to fight fedor, he has 2 or 3 fights left on his contract at the ufc which means he cant fight in any orginization until hes had them fights with out a law suit and fedor has signed to some russian MMA orginization the only way to settle this is if fedor and randy had a underground MMA fight which will probably never happen.

I think UFC is just for money. Money is good, but when money is the only motivation, then we have result such as UFC: super agressive marketing, few good fighters, and bunch of crap. dana white is just scumbag. They destroyed Pride because Pride was competitor for UFC. I am happy Randy left UFC, I think we will now see his fight with Fedor.

His position is understandable, fighting Fedor at this stage of his career seems like a no brainer, and failing to get him good opponents is a mockery of his skills.
With that said, in a match-up between them i would place money on Fedor for harder punching and good ground work, he did take out Coleman who was an olympic wrestler, Couture is similar so nothing new for Fedor

I agree. Even with Couture being the ironman that he is, I just dont think that he could withstand the pressure that Fedor would place on him Fedor is in a league of his own, I have never seen anybody like him. The only person who I think is remotely close in talent is Urijah Faber in the WEC at 145lb.

Somewhat got to agree with ya there. I've never seen Fedor fight someone where it was like, "Wow, this guys is one of the toughest to beat." Everyone Fedor has beaten so far is more like, "Ah, it's a pretty decent fighter." (Exception of Cro Cop) While I think Andrei is too hyped, I would love to see Fedor fight Sylvia, even though I think Sylvia is mainly size and I heard he's ducking Fedor. But still, it's time for Fedor to compete with Vera, Gonzaga, Kongo and other top HWs.

i completely agree with u...the same thing happened when he first fought vitor belfort in ufc 15, everyone thought that i was impossible for randy couture to win, but not only did he win, but he won by knockout which is something no one expected
