  • Yes, where would I be without my multicultural food, clothes, and sports? Indeed, my life would not be worth living if I could not get my beloved spicy burritos and crab rangun!!!

  • It is forced Stalinist immigration so the rich can max out their profits paying us all 3rd world wages and also never allowing the masses to unite as one people against their evil rule. Diversity is death. Get a weapon learn to master it and kill these evil fucks!

  • The west was never tolerant, only allowing people in who they could deprogram and indoctrinate, like was done with the slaves!

  • @obaidCarkey The same slaves that they bought from the Arab slave traders? :-)

  • Why is it that such a rational belief based on having a tolerant and heterogenous society, which could herald peace and enlightenment, has gone down the very road which it has so avoided. People have to realise that yes the BNP and neo-cons are forces of darkness, but even their agenda is progressives compared to the inherant darkness within islamism. Even the BNP, disgusting as they are, have a point when they argue about tolerance in Islamic countries

  • When Islam passes throught the Dark Ages, Renaisance, Modernism,Industrial Revolutions, Humanism, Democracies, etc ....then, it will have a place in the Western world, till that day, stay in you friggin desert and eat lamb all day.

  • @igster28 islam and muslims gave birth to the renaisance. but unlike ur corrupt religions, ISLAM WILL NEVER CHANGE, NOT EVEN A LETTER, and anyone who dies rejecting islam will burn in hellfire forever, because there is nothing after the truth, except falsehood, corruption, evil, and darkness which is why hellfire is the destination. turn off ur tv's you zombies and study islam before you die from cancer and diabetes like ur fellow countrymen are dying from endlessly...

  • @SalafiJustice It was europeans in several nations using knowledge produced by among others, muslims. And it gave birth to the REFORMATION. Which brings us to the point, Islam never experienced a renaissance (wished it had), for it should experience REFORMATION and HUMANISM!

  • @SalafiJustice Enjoy your morally depraved and primitive religion. The rest of us in the civilized world laugh at you towel heads. :-)

  • @SalafiJustice The truth is every time some brave guy in islamic regions have tried to diminish the power of muslim theocrats, he has lost his head. Only reason the europeans have been so succesful is that they mostly have got rid of the dominance of religions when it comes to laws and science. That s the reason for their development -because they allow themselves to develop. I donno are you joking when talking about hellfire etc. but that was a quite funny. And proved my point exactly.

  • @igster28 That's why it's important to protect people like Rushdie and Hirsi Ali, at all costs. Criticism is all important.

  • So what are our values as a culture? Individualism or community; peace or war; entrepreneurship or greed; education or ignorance; democratic imperialism or isolationism; politeness or confrontation; liberalism or conservatism; sex or abstinence; death or life? I don't know. Do you know? Does this country know? Or, are we an experiment, inventing our values through trial and error as we move through time?

  • @sanfrancisco89 your culture is gradually more and more progressing toward satanism, you think its your own but its actual the result of a people who manipulate you into their way of thinking and they do it gradually so you dont even realize it, because you're too busy being dumbed down and sleeping to the tv. and when i say you, i mean your people.

  • @sanfrancisco89 Keep on beating the multicultural drum. And bankrupt treasury will play bass and high crime rate will play guitar and maybe if your lucky you can have more gangs on vocals.

I think western civilization is slowly starting to learn why other countries are poor and corrupt... Its not because of "the government", "corruption", but because of the people. The people (not all of course, but the majority) are lazy and dumb and thats what were importing and thats what were getting.

  • Isnt that the stupid woman who said that its not 72 virgins that awaits in heaven but 72 raisins?

  • @FreedomResistance the 72 raisins translation was first proposed by christoper luxenburg (a pseudonym used for his own safety) by trying to look at syro-aramaic languages when deciphering earlier arabic. also the 72 virgin deal isn't in the koran but in ( largely disputed by muslim scholars) reference to it in a collection of the hadiths. I'm an atheist but the 72 virgin thing is more or less just used as a pun in the west. i think religion should be criticized for what it actually teaches .

  • Better food? Better clothes? Who does he think he's kidding? We don't need people to live among us in order to pick the bits of their culture which we like. I'm cooking a Thai curry right now. I have no idea where the nearest Thais are and I don't really care if they would recognize it as "authentic" Thai food.

The only foreign clothes I've seen recently are those ridiculous woollen hats that Dappy wears.

  • Rushdie is talking about not tolerating extremism and bigotry that masquerade as "cultural traits". Funny how the OP and many others can't see his views have nothing anti-left about them. Like Rushdie, I'm a liberal, and yet I realize Muslim extremism and primitive aspects have to be dealth with. I still don't agree with right-wingers on most issues.

  • @ShockTherapist007 , Agreed . I'm on the left and agree with Rushdie , Mallik and many others .

  • @ShockTherapist007 Good comment. I consider myself a serious liberal, and feel that the great tragedy of the left is that they're refusing to stand up, and even openly disavowing, for our most important values. We are letting the right wing wackjobs actually lay better claim to Enlightenment principles. This shouldn't be happening. Yet you will never hear a liberal state that Islamic fascism is a threat to be destroyed, despite the fact that it mocks everything liberals should stand for.

  • @Nishap739 yeah i know. it reminds me of when hitler got person of the year in 1938. The ideal liberal must be ready and willing to fight to keep peace and freedom, but in modern times liberal often equals pussy.

  • Your cultural rights end where your fist meets my jaw. Sorry lefty cry-babies.

  • Do Chinese or Japanese living in Multiculturism???No,so why we Europeans have to live in it!??? I hate that Europe is turning to third world continent!!!

  • "What is more important than food and cloths"

I don't know, maybe the principles which allowed you to acquire them?

We require property to produce the food and the cotton. Property to utilize and put factories down on to create a means of production. Along with this the liberty to interact with anyone who chooses to interact with us in order to participate in commerce. Then the recognized RIGHT to keep the fruits of our labor and everything that goes with it.

    He is a fool.

  • hey its there culture to stone women I am not going to judge them!

  • As much as I think this was a much needed conversation, I also feel that there are many racists/ extremists from all sides who will use this as an excuse to be horrible to one another. I respect and admire Salman Rushdie, for the work he is done, for standing up for freedom of speech back in the 80's when he was threatened with death may a time. I wish that more people actually listened to this man more often.

  • Hilarious. These two seem to be praising this degenerate ideology, but the only good things he named that come out of it are food and clothing.

  • never knew but in the late 80's a bomb almost killed this guy

    man Islam has some issues

  • The word fascism now means: "Anything we don't like". Look it up, there are about 10 different definitions, but mostly point towards corporations basically becoming the main interest groups of governments. Therefore. every single Western country is 'fascist' in that respect! However, much respect to Geert Wilders, Nigel Farage etc!

  • Salman well said

  • I agree with the multiculturalism turning into cultural relativism. which is bullshit.

  • "Mullahs and ... other assholes ..." EPIC #WIN

  • What the West has lost, which infuriates me, is the ability to stand up and say NO, when it is confronted by a "religion" or "culture" that is so demonstrably wrong, so idiotic, so illogical, so morally bankrupt, so intellectually deformed, so bereft of value. For example, we should say NO to first-cousin marriages and the horrible genetic disorders that result from them. But instead, we pour millions into treating the symptoms and not the cause: multiculturalism.

  • @sulijoo Respectfully, I disagree. As Salman says, Multiculturalism is a simple fact, and it's not very rational to say it is or isn't a problem. The problem is relativism, wherein the brain is turned off, one's own ethics are stilled, in favor of whatever someone claims is their culture.

Coarsely speaking, allowing headscarves is multiculturalism, while excusing the stoning of women to death for having sex outside of marriage because hey, that's your culture, is relativism and wrong.

  • @ChollieD Very well said!

  • @ChollieD Yes, but a Mosaic form of Multiculturalism is the ideology that allows this cultural relativism to take place. The way to get rid of cultural relativism is to get rid of its cause.

  • We to seem to allow Islam to have special demands in our societies.

  • @bnbalenda Oh but dont forget they are better than you are! Silly mammal!!

  • @bnbalenda from what country are you bro? I agree with you totally I'm from Holland. ;)

  • Thanks for posting this. This is a really important topic to think about these days given our culture & media clashes with the muslim world these days. When he says western ears are tuned to the more conservative voices of Islam, he hit it right in the bullseye. BTW, I'm confused by Brigstock's post as to how multiculturalism can be "imposed". Are you talking about policies akin to affirmative action or something?

  • I cant keep up with all these new technical terms like "other assholes"lol.

  • Im for assimilation than multiculturalism but if we have strict universal laws im for it.

  • Multiculturalism was imposed on the UK from the 1950s onwards against the wishes of the majority of the population. That is not democracy but Liberal fascism.

  • "Imposed" in what sense?

  • @upandopen no referendum

  • @BRIGSTOCK lol at Liberal fascism. The word fascism has been thrown around so willy nilly that its lost all its meaning.

  • @BRIGSTOCK the worst fascism is the phony "culture" islands like France and Greece who keep themselves isolated and cant even conceive of borrowing a word from a 'foreign" language. all 'cultures" are inherently fascistic by nature--cause they want to KEEP you within that culture's confines and limitations--stop thinking in words as much as possible.
