  • Gives me goosebumps watching this and hearing the music. A first class job.

  • blackmoon - niguz talk

  • this combined with rainymood . com = awesome

  • Heavy D used that sampled at 2:55 in the song ''You can't see what i can see'' I love that song.

  • love your video!

  • this is terrible...just kidding

  • supermegaWAO

  • LSD-25!!!!!

  • Truly one of the best songs ever made. Cool video as well.

  • It would have been Miles birthday.. today.

  • My buddy and I know the beauty of this song on our own time...but sometimes, in a bar full of assholes, we'll plug this in the jukebox and it goes the whole 33 minutes or whatever. Hilarious prank. The bartenders usually don't skip it. Probably b/c it'd be "uncool" to do so. But it creates a horridly awkward tension between the patrons.

  • @jebsievers That's a brilliant idea

  • If you like this, listen to Frank Zappa - King Kong live on BBC. The sax solo alone is worth a listen, and the rest is just as amazing.

  • really like miles, but had only listened to a little of bitches brew- really like this track-i don't often ike jazz when it is quite so far out...but this is so excellent .your video is awesome

  • Great post... great music great video. Thank you :)

  • House Of Pain sampled Bitches Brew on the track,

    Heart Full Of Sorrow

  • The Man...

  • this is an amazing song!

  • This album opened up a whole new world for me!

  • I'm really feeling the video you did to go with this. You are very talented. Great job. I'm trying to be a Jazz fan. I live in New Orleans, where it all started, and my brothers are really into jazz. I appreciate it, and your video really helps me get it on another level.

    Thanks, hear?

    Sockmonkeyish

  • fucking genius, man. much more representative than the actual footage. too bad it cuts out, though.

  • Why is John Coltrane in here? He had nothing to do w/BB Nice effect though.

  • Miles of styles, Davis runs the Voodoo down, killer funk, no time for bunk, play those descending chord structures, whacked out musical exploration, drugged session, Miles & Wayne, a beautiful journey in firing neurons, this is it you scientists, figure this level of creativity ?

    maryfisher

  • dont get high and play this one, take you to another world!

  • @laketahoeron I think thats the notion! ;)

  • This is a brilliant video. Congrats. It adds something new to the music. No need to have the musicians here at all. The driving background would have been fine on its own.

  • this is alright, but not really my thing.

  • oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • woah...this is really cool

  • that scared the living shyte out of me

  • this song fucks with my head!!!!

  • Radiohead said they are inspired by Bitches Brew on the album Ok Computer and I know why now

  • I had the pleasure of seeing the Bitches Brew tour at Univ. of Miami back in 1970. That was amazing.

  • @kdixon2711

dont get me wrong but if i had see that i would fking write an esay

  • Can't believe Mum brought me up on this jazz , Wow !!

  • The album that changed music...period.

  • ho yes baby

  • very intense...and kinda freaky....

  • Amazing.

  • BETTER THEN Beethovens 5th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • men you're a fucking artist, this video is perfect for the music

  • all time no.1 song. how many version

  • pretty sure this song was about heroin, but what do I know.

  • lol

  • the brew is speedball, heroin and cocaine mixed

  • Genius. I'm not a misogynist. I love women on every level. But this piece really sums up what a lot of us men go tru. My partner has a really powerful mind. But when that mind decides to take its turn, I'm like that trumpet struggling to stay afloat on that maelstrom.

I'm not a jazz head per se. Something told me to check this sont tonight.

Well done with the video too.

  • Clearify please...your partner is a man?

  • Have the 4 CD's fucking awesome.

  • I've got the No Blues live album in Paris France. Dated 11.06.69 is this 11th of June or 6th November, any one know?

  • LOVE the bass clari at 3:00.

  • love it

  • who is a base player? Ron Carter?

  • great video.

  • I don't get it. This was supposedly Radiohead's inspiration for Subterannean Homesick Alien but it doesn't sound like this at all.

  • It's not the melody so much as the atmosphere that is similar.

Listen to the reverb, the "closed in" sound of everything. It's like it's all stuffed in a small room, and there's a controlled chaos throughout.

It's kind of unnerving if you fire it up and listen to it in the dark. It's very rich with "texture and mood" for lack of better descriptors.

  • @annettecls Actually, this song was the inspiration for 'Life In A Glasshouse'. Check it out and you will definetly see the influence :)

  • Now that I can see without a problem! Thanks.

  • ARTE...

  • @VIDEOLASTICO Y del grande Videolástico... los pelos como escarpias, y lo digo sin coñas. Guapo el video y la música carallo.

  • i swear chick corea is an alien. what awesome keyboardsmanship (of course they all awesome)

  • Yeahhh, grrrrreat music...

  • Ain't nothin' better than bitches brew on a sunday morning!

  • I'm gonna paint with this song playing. Amazing! Damn, are they human?

  • Paint to the whole album! It's one of the best records for doing something creative.

  • no.. no one is human...

  • Great video! Really suits the amazing music! However one suggestion, you should fade out the music at the end, that harsh cut is too hard to take!

  • that's right.

  • amazing video. added to favorites.

  • One notable hip hop sample, Heavy D used the bass line.

  • Smokin vid

  • How to make a nice vid on 'Bitches Brew'... Well, you did a nice try, but as far as I remember, there was no trombone playing in bitches brew.

  • The artist who designed the album cover was the same person who also did the artwork for Santana's Abraxas.

  • heavy d -you cant see wat i can see

  • i watched this video on boomers the other night.... holy fuck

  • nice video!

  • you capture the essence of jazz with your video-colorful and mysterious...keep it up:)

  • great music...sounds like he enjoyed the work of Karlheinz Stockhausen

  • Jazz is one of the most extreme and hardcore genres of music that exists. Just listen to a jazzcore band called Naked City (heavily influenced by Miles Davis) and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

BTW, Bitches Brew is the album that totally changed my mind about jazz music. I used to think jazz was boring and lame then I heard this and it hit me like a Mack truck speeding down a highway.

  • i lvoe miles davis, theiloinius monk, orentte coleman, charles mingus, and i know im forgetting someone but besides that i've always found jazz to be just a bunch of guys who are good at playing an instrument showing off

  • nice song, but i can't see shit in your video...wtf is that?

  • Wow, i wish Miles did more of this avant guard free amazing sessions. He was to tied back to what the audience wanted back then.

  • Dear kyeno and worldcreations,

Stop typing, just listen to the music. Let it blow through you. No more arguing over a language, no whining, no attacks. It's the internet, you could both be ninety year old great grandmothers, who cares? Let's just enjoy some hella good tunes.

  • Well said. :)

  • great music of course but terrible visuals : far too fast and ill fitting...

  • This is powerful con-nect-ed music. It's much more spiritual than it seems. The connection with the Indian ragas gives this incredible depth, which goes back to the Indian philosophy schools. This music really is the modern version of the sacred mantra of the Shabdabrahman ('absolute sound').

  • yo i remember last year i used to have this on my ipod and go do graffiti on trains

when you do graffiti on trains you do it in a train yard and that like one of the most creepy spot there are tons of litle noises in the background

so for creep myself eaven more i listened to that and the 3:00 part made me TRRRIPPP!!

  • God dammit learn to talk.

  • you mean lear how to WRITE

and i would like to see you write a paragraph this big in french

i live in quebec we dont speak english on the regular so be happy im at least able to write a litle bit in english

  • ok i dont know whats your problem of understanding

but i LIVE in french i talk all day in french and go to school in french

so i just wanted to see you fucking write in an other languange than your regular language

    here just for you

bonjour mon nom est alex et je suis tanner de me faire dire que j'ecris mal englais pasque les gens crois que je suis un de ces putains d'americains

qui ecris mal en sa propre langue

  • You are just babbling random shit. You can't fool me.

  • Sarcasm shitface.

  • Lol you're writing sarcasm well online, a bit misendurstanding, but not bad, I can really pick up on it when typed.

  • g_Z

  • to me its a dedication to all those crazy bitches!!! if u kno eht i mean

  • If you are sober you get high.

If you are high you start trippin.

Man, I wonder what it would be liek to trip to this? Mmmmm....

  • **Hey, if you like this, you'll FLIP over my NEW VIDEO "Miles Davis - Birth of the Brew" (early early rehearsals, in a great presentation)... head over to my channel**

  • this track makes feel lost, like I am in a big forest and don t know where i m goin

i m like what the fuck is goin on

  • il ya un delire que j arrive pas a maitrise La

  • can someone explain how to do an analysis on a song without lyrics??

  • the sounds, my good man, the sounds.

music is a language, unlike any other. For, it speaks to everyone the same. It is the universal language.

Once you realise that, you can do an analysis on any note or syncopation or whatever you want.

in, other words, How does this music make you feel?

  • Write about the progression of the music.

  • it's not a song lol

  • some times music better withour lyrics the instruments are talking man...

  • Well said man. Very well my friend.

  • This is the kind of trippy jazz i am a fan of.

does anybody have any recomendations from Miles or somebody else that plays this kind of jazz

  • Check out Pharaoh's Dance and Miles Runs the Voodoo Down. It's from the same album.

  • mahavishnu orchestra, tony williams lifetime

  • In fact... check out the entire album.

  • the rawest, yet most mindblowing album cover ever.

  • in a silent way.....my personal favourite...that is heavy!!! great post,u made my day.

  • absolutely EPIC jazz, jazz is probably one of my favorite types of music i enjoy it very much

  • Comment removed

  • Waaaaaaaaay heavier than any metal. Whenever I feel uncomfortable I can hear that bass in my head.

  • LOVE IT.

he Video & Music are fu**d up. ..in a good way of course.!!!!

    Thank you

  • about 3:35, where the drums come in, that moment is absolute perfection

  • haha dude i was listening while reading the comments and it kicked in just as i read yours

  • great post, thanks - one of the best vids on this site

  • I feel high.

  • Now I see why people love Jazz.

  • Well done audio and visual e.s.s great post!

  • ...gone from Bitches Brew to "bitch give me a brew and while you at it drop it like its hot!"

  • sad isn't it?

  • Comment removed

  • this shit's on fire

  • Listening Bitches Brew is a surreal experience!!

  • took the words out of my mouth

  • TheObeah, I'm just hoping you're not talking about me?

  • Awesome on all levels...way to look out on this post...

  • ha esta altura de mi vida pense no encontrar nada que me conmoviera, con esa fascinacion de ser la primera vez... muy buen tema exelente disco....

  • Tour de force...Miles Davis is one of the greats. Nice compilation and effect for this song. Got a contact buzz just watching it....uh where am I...

  • the best

  • that sax part at 3:00 on sounds evil and dark,

  • Absolutely Terrific!

  • Great video! Wish you would have faded the end so it didn't stop in mid stanza.

  • He's got that Delay effect ON FIAH...!!

  • This is the ANTIDOTE to HIPHOP & RAP (i mena CRAP) inject it into everyone you meet!!!!!!!

  • What is your problem with hip-hop? ypu probobly only know that commercial rappers like 50. But if you would know a little bit more about hip-hop then you would never say that. Plus i don't get your link between hip-hop and your this miles david music?

  • im a big hip hop head too, but it is true that without people such as miles davos there would be no current music scene.

every genre/artist was influenced by a previous genre/ artist

    music is always evolving!

  • miles davis plus others paved the way for hip-hop. that's the link

  • mullah06: Half of hip hop probably wouldn't exist without guys like Miles Davis :)

  • I don't normally like to flame but you, sir, are an idiot

  • i suggest using caps lock all the time, adding some more exclamation marks and making more mistakes, you'd separate yourself from the dumb, conformist, rap-listening masses even better.

  • Awesom...I listened to this album for probably a year before I understood it. This and Pharoa's Dance. One of the best albums of all time...

  • This is sooooo much heavier than any crappy metalcore band could ever be. Or even a good one for that matter ;p

  • There's about twenty hiphop hits in this one joint alone,

  • man this song is classic, its hard to explain but it kind of sounds like whats going on in the mind after someones done something really bad...like murder or a hardcore drug. great song anyway

  • A man with dark sunglasses, wearing a hat and duster, who's walking briskly across an empty side sidewalk that is next to a red brick wall covered in graffiti while it is dusk and his shadow is very long against the wall. It's also black and white.

This is what the intro reminds me of at least.

  • Sounds like the opening theme to a really dark and ominous noir themed film...

reminds me of walking through a city at night, contemplating all the things that could be waiting for me in the darkness....

  • wow. what a great video! gracias.

  • L♥ve this vid, very well done! Thanks PJ! :-)

  • Bitches Brew is probably the hottest Miles Davis recording out there... Aside from anything he did with John Coltrane, that is. I was fortunate enough to see Miles once in my life when I was really young. I did not appreciate it at the time, but hindsight is 20-20...

This album got a lot of play in college... My roommate and I would blast it for hours and bust open a case of beer. Ah memories...

  • i love this video.

    miles davis was the man.

  • now why cant we all get along and enjoy the show?

  • JAKEGOREY:

'Im 16, and i know their target audience because the two videos i watched had 'disney music' written down the bottom.. Correct me if im wrong, but is disney not a childs channel?'

Which 2 did you watch and where did you see them?

  • jakegorey is a wanker

why do dicks always have to fight on youtube

  • Great stuff from MD! =D

    Thanks for posting!
