He suffered through a disease, just to have his brother kill him so he wouldn't find out the truth. He was the best shinobi in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. As he died, he remembered his little brother's smile. It's so sad. He was the most considerate, caring character, and he died for it. RIP Itachi-sama. TT-TT

I hope that he didn't really die, because that would be a great twist. He could have used something like when he was fighting Naruto, like have someone else fight Sasuke.

Sasuke now has his eyes (implanted by madara) and if you remember back to the fight between orochimaru and the third hokage when orochi summoned the first two hokages, kabuto has now done that with itachi, hidan, deidara, sasori and kakuzu. So pretty much, itachi is unfortunately dead TT_TT
