You should have to start off on a 250cc just like a lot of other countries do. A noob on a 1000cc. I've been riding for 20 years just no need for that much HP
The person responsible for this is the driver. Not the person who sold him the bike. If you cant drive it, dont get on it. Simple.
If you want a Darwin award, go ahead, becasuse it will be posted on Youtube and people like me who have a sick sense of humor get a good laugh out of watching retards getting fucked up.
This just shows how a inExsperience rider ends up after not respecting the bike and the cautions that come with it, funny tho, imagin just buying a $10,000 bike and wrecking it within 24hrs of haven it.. Lmao..!.!.!
my first street bike is 07 r1 .. but i grew up around dirt bikes .. when i was 9 i was riding rm 250 i couldnt even get my legs fullly postion'd around the bike , i would have my leg over the seat just so i could touch the gound at a stand still . Really its all about bady steps . it looks like to me he was doing 60-80 on a high speed turn and over shot it and didnt know how to handle the bike . my advice learn to STOP and lean before u even think about going fast
ya dude im 14 and grew up around dirt bikes and you definitely want to learn how to fall and slide (NOT ROLL!) before you get onto a road bike, road rash is better than broken bones
Poor guy... R1 is a lot of bike. I started on a 91 750 and its scared the crap out of me many times and still does... Have yet to down it though. Thank god.
i recommend every1 to go to a motorcycle safety course new and vet riders alike. might learn something that can save your life and the life of others around you. be safe.
Anyone who needs more than 600cc's on a sport-bike is either in the top 1% of professional racers, or is so heavy that they probably should be going for a nice, solid cruiser instead.
That said, I wouldn't mind a Ninja ZX-10, but I wouldn't dare open that sucker up without another 2 or 3 years with my ZX-7.
i rode my gpx250 for 6 years before getting on my CBR600 F4i and I'm still learning. Guys just want to go too hard without understanding their current abilities.
true. there are the unlucky ones. but this looks like it's in the hills...oil patches occur in heavy traffic when vehicles stop for a while, at traffic lights or at a crash site. most likely he went too hard.
He should have started riding around his neighbor hood to start. dumb ass. Even if you are an experienced rider it is best to start going in slow places where there aren't a lot of dangerous turns or other cars in your way life, empty parking lots or something!
As a new rider he should have been wearing more than just a helmet! I think his "friends" are more responsible for this crash for letting him ride a bike which is way too powerful for a first time rider and letting him go out without the proper gear. ATGATT!!!
That's right! A good friend would never let someone get on a bike without the proper gear knowing that it's not easy to ride a bike without the proper training. that's like trying to skydive for the first time and letting the beginner pack his own parachute...
I honestly think that 600's are even more dangerous than 1000's, how often do you hear "its ONLY a 600" the intimidation is far less but the bike is still just as dangerous, we should have a graduated motorcycle license system cause of retards that wreck out on an open rode like this dummy
It really ticks me off when dealerships sell newbs 1000cc crotch rockets as their first bike. If you've never ridden a motorcycle before, you've got no business on a 1000cc bike...PERIOD.
yeah man good call, it had taken me 9 years to get up to something over 1000cc, went from a ts185 to a srx250 lol then to a vfr800 now i have a bmw k1300s
i totally agree ive been riding dirtbikes for about 3 years now
just got my motorcycle license and i purchased the gsxr600 because im not stupid at the age of seventeen and i know my limitations all though i am a very experienced rider
maybe true, but i see it a bit differently..first off , even if he knew , a shop only wants his money..now they got double..repairing or a new one maybe even...
Second, the rider's responsibility is to know what you can handle..a bike is not for showing of , but for enjoyement..what's there to enjoy when you can't handle your bike or go full-out when you want to.
@BryanDavison I agree with that I have been ridding street for 5 years and offroad for around 6 and I won't even touch 1000cc sportbike thats death on wheels lol.
@Resurectionofshawn Eh, it's how you use it IMO. I like my R1. I wouldn't call it "death oh wheels" - it's only as stupid as the rider.
I'm not sure why people assume that liter bikes only have two throttle positions, WOT and closed. I manage my throttle nicely, I am very aware of the power it can deliver, and I haven't had any fuck-ups yet. It's all about keeping it in the back of your head how quickly this thing can fuck you up, IMO.
@MrSlowestD16 yea true it does depend on the rider cause if he was smart he would have known how to corner properly by looking past the mirror on the side of the turn keeping the bike up and more stable and that new tires are slick and need to be broken in and warm.
@BryanDavison No new person should be going to a dealership for their first bike...in all liklihood, the thing IS GOING TO tip over. Whether it's the person falls, or it's a standing tip, whatever. Somebody shouldn't be learning on a new bike.
its real easy to get overconfident, I have a cruiser, but would imagine that you'd feel almost super human on those crotch rockets. Its important to remember you are not super human, and there is only your balance between you and the pavement, plus like you said 10,000 other idiots, sand , pot holes ...etc .etc
His bike looked OK. I lost control into some dirt about a year ago. Cruisers are the most difficult style to ride. You wouldn't believe it because most of them can't ride well, but it is difficult to handle those things.
hehe, thats why i got an ex250r as my first bike and i still have it. still content with it. its only been 2 months tho. i love my gentle little 250. although it still has alittle bit of kick in power but not alot. i crashed the first day also. but it was just a fall and slide on the pavement. nothing serious besides a banged up left knee. and so, i learned not to accidentally pop the clutch on a left turn =) which will cause u to fall and slide 5 feet on the ground dragging ur knee.
That's gotta ruin your confidence a bit eh?
