  • the best thing prinz ever did for anyone was to end the repellent cheap ass jive show. ditto for james kohack one of the worst geeks imaginable like sonny bono

  • I was only a kid watching "Chico and the Man". Loved it. What a tragic loss. Only 22 and couldn't happiness... so sad. He will always be missed.

  • fuck all drugs ! legal or illegal ( same bullshit ) When will humanity realise LIFE is a trip ? (no need for "drugs" when you think about it ) We are all gonna die No one gets out alive from this trip so why not just live in reality?

  • I've done my fare share of drugs, never tried Quaaludes.

  • @JeXsXsXe

    Only 22...wow

  • @rachelsmama, you mean the book?

  • "Accidental death due to quaaludes", lol please. People want their rich and popular "golden calves" to die with dignity, yet the impoverished unknown street drug addict with mood disorders has their cause of death listed as suicide. He was an adult. Let's hold him to the same standard of responsibility that every other adult is supposed to be held to. If anyone else is to blame it would be his parents. "Liberated" parents with no morals or ethics is who he was undoubtedly raised by.

  • @1morete Way to make rash assumptions about people (parents) you don't even know one thing about. Adults make their own choices, despite their parents best intentions and a wonderful upbringing. You will be far better served in life by opening your mind and realizing where your opinions are formed NOT by facts, but by perceptions & bias.

  • 5 grams of cocaine a day??? Bad journalism

  • I was born in 1981 so I only know of Freddie prinze by what my mother has told me and viewing him on the dean Martin roasts,I decided to read up on him and what I don't understand is the suicide note, it states it was his decision and his alone to take his life and that dusty is there and is innocent, well what did dusty do? Just sit there and watch him write that note and didn't call anyone and get him help? He just sat there and let him shoot himself? That makes absolutely NO sense

  • @Ang3ia80 You should get his (Freddie) only biography written by mother, Maria Prutezel. From beginning to end, its detailed and very interesting.

  • Freddie you were a wonderful comedian and actor RIP

  • I still remember that day in January 1977. I cried for days after he died - I had really liked him. I still to this day have a comedy record of his. I play it and think of him. Only 22 years old... how tragic.

  • 1977 turned out to be a tragic year for people whom many young people looked up to. First, Freddie Prinze, and then Elvis Presley. Drugs affected their lives, and the results for both were tragic (Freddie-self-inflicted gunshot, Elvis-heart attack).

  • @MrJayBBluejay Not to mention too much, too fast, too soon.

  • Bipolar people have low self a steem always, when their up, its only temporary.

  • @jaredleospirit Not all true, thats depression. Bipolar doesnt have to do w/ self esteem.

  • manic biopolar depression---so sad

he tried to self medicate--the brain is such a wonderful organ, but when it has defaults--it is terrible--god bless freddie

  • Accidental shooting? Im sorry but no he killed himself its so sad.. BUt thats the reality of it.. NO excuse

  • @anthonycalamba Sadly true, but after a civil investigation, it was determined it was part of a staged fake suicide, but was too stoned to realize the gun was loaded. N yeah, Qualudes ARE a bitch! So was the Doc that handed em to Freddie like Candy N put the guns N pills in his hand the day he died after taking em for his saftey the night before. he should have been strung up...

  • @WaistlineSeeker69. I felt the same way with guitar player, Terry Kath from Chicago.

  • He's from Washington heights NYC

  • Quaaludes are a real bitch!!!!

  • rest in peace freddie prinze sr.....

  • Wonder if Jr suffers from these mental health issues too?

  • @pomegranateish I think everyone deals with mental health issues. I think it all depends on how we handle whats before us that makes a diffence. upbringing, peer pressure, financial stature can all play into how we deal and handle various situations.

  • @pomegranateish He said previously in an interview that doctors thought that he had paranoid schizophrenia as a child but it was never confirmed. I think that he had a tough time a child dealing with his fathers absence as well as his death, but I don't think that he had any real mental heath problems. x

  • They left out the best part of the "ripped underwear" joke: "I used to carry a spare pair with me with a note that said "In case of accident PLEASE put these on!"

  • RIP

  • I was a kid when this happen. I wasa big fan of Freddie even has a kid, loved his tv show, RIP Freddie Prinze

  • Somebody knowledgeable please help me on this... I am looking for the song which plays at the end of Chico and the Man during the credits which is done by Jose Feliciano but I can't find it anywhere. In my opinion it completely outshines the intro song. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Much appreciated.

  • He was a talented, funny, charismatic guy and so handsome.

    So sad when he died.

  • I was about 5 or 6 years old when Freddie killed himself, I used to watch his show everyweek and when he killed himself it was the FIRST time I heard of the word suicide!! After he did and they showed reruns, I would just sit there watching him be funny, smiling and not understanding how you kill yourself and it creeped me out and made me so sad seeing the show after his death :( Its still a wow factor and totally remember this, omg!!

  • @lucky44124 I was the same age you were when he committed suicide. That really does freak you out, very badly.

  • that was a sad day. I was a kid and could not figure out why such a funny seemingly happy guy would kill himself...again, i was a kid..then i grew up and realized a few things about life, it can be very hard to deal with. wish i were a kid again.

  • ------loved ya' freddie !!!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
