Historically, we have assigned the principle of a supernatural creator to the things we don't understand, like the thunder and the rain and the sun shining and whatnot. Many Atheist take the approach that God can't be real because if God were real why would he let there be evil and in general why would he let bad things happen. The answer is simple. You can only tell your speed relative to other objects, and everything would be traveling at close to the speed of light after the big bang. It would appear as if everything was completely still. So it has to be interpreted in a non-literal sense, injecting the reader or teachers own biases into it, so there can be no concensus on what it actualy means. So any conclusions are subjective. The more time you spend wondering where we came from and getting into pissing matches with the ones who claim they know. Well, that's all a bunch of time you could have spent enjoying yourself. Who gives a flying fuck? I'm tired of all the bullshit. I do realize however that the believers will drag this world down and make their bullshit come true. We will all suffer because some superstitious idiots think we are bound for hell. If only I could go back in time and hide the "sacred" books. Oops.

You show that you place value on a child's health since you assume it is wrong for parents to not take their child to a medical facility on religious grounds. Where does your perception of the value of this child's life stem from? Realistically, this child's life will have zero impact on the rest of your life, let alone a positive one. If your morality does not come from God, as you suggest, then where is this value derived from?

(I lied.. pun intended) When it is in fact it is the Theists which have no morals. Theists do good for promise of everlasting reward or fear of eternal suffering . Theists do good because if they do not some "big guy" is gonna slap them around. Atheist do good because we understand how people need to work together.

No one can say whether or not a creator exists. But the bible is stolen stories from earlier times and all of them are simply sun worship. The sun and night sky were followed HUGELY in ancient times. For instance saying "Amen", is worshiping a sun god, Amen Ra. The 12 apostles are the 12 zodiac constellations that FOLLOW the "sun" of God through the sky. The story, including its death and resurrection from 12/21-12/25 each year is well known. They just humanized the stars and people fell for it.

Nobody has to prove genesis wrong. It's blantantly obvious that it's not a factual account of reality. Talking snakes? Talking donkeys? Magical forbidden fruit trees? Worldwide floods? precisely two people to account for genetic diversity of all humanity?

@JayJayAbels The Vaticans Astonomical Observatory supports the Big Bang Theory and most all other theories on creation of the Universe. They aren't living in the Dark Ages. The Catholic Church has long been open minded to other scientific theories and hypothesis. It was the Catholic Church that created determined and our modern Calendar in the 16th Century under Pope Gregory the XIII, the Gregorian Calendar, and figured the exact length of a Earth Year to the 100th of a second.

To honestly believe we came from space through a flash going at millions of miles per second. ANYTHING going that fast would burn to a crisp. And to also think we can survive up in space. For one an embryo needs: oxygen and amino acids which also need oxygen and carbon and hydrogen. And they think we're made of radioactive cosmic elements that are found also beneath the earth.

@frankyagernull It is physically impossible to tell if you are standing still or if you are going at the speed of light. You can only tell your speed relative to other objects, and everything would be traveling at close to the speed of light after the big bang. It would appear as if everything was completely still. Though I wouldn't expect you to understand relativity. I know a lot about the big bang thanks, YOU don't.

@9hello123 of course you wouldn't be able to tell, you'd be dead if you were going that fast. The Earth the Moon and whatever else was doing this would have been turned into light energy as well. E=Mc2 one of the common principles of the universe explains this. And being sucked through a vacuum going this fast would kill you as big bang states.

@9hello123 exactly, they didn't study enough about the biological circumstances to realize that an embryo can't survive in space. Furthermore the theory doesn't make any sense physically the probability of a single cell coming out by chance is like 1 to 1 with 340 million 0s after it.

Especially since you can interpret the big book o metaphors to mean just about anything you want it to justify. @TheMarineKid17 you realize that no acurate acount of creation can be gathered from genesis because it contradicts itself and is thus not internaly valid. So it has to be interpreted in a non-literal sense, injecting the reader or teachers own biases into it, so there can be no concensus on what it actualy means. So any conclusions are subjective. Which if you decide that you can accept subjective conclusions as fact and make practical decisions based on it, this is enough for you.

going to the beginning of the expansion known as the big bang, there is the planck time, where the laws of physics break down, so time is most likely not what we know it as today, and anyway, since time 'began' with the big bang, there is no before the big bang, as that is something being before time - a contradiction.
and wouldn't there be no time for a transcendant being outside of the universe?
