  • I must date these two cougars!!

  • oh yea, and psychomouse or whatever your name is magazine, and independent review numbers for 0-60 and 1/4 times are actually liberal, not conservative. They're all tested by professional drivers hired to run the car 10-20 times and then use the best times as performance measurements. We have a racing school up here that talks about that maybe you should attend.

  • they are conservative fool. they are never inflated. the times posted in mags are always on the high side. do you know why? a b/c they arent going to go out there and keep doing runs to try and perfect it.

b/c then its not realistic. they posted numbers thats a decent driver should be able to post by giving the car a few tries and post the best numbers achieved out of those couple runs

in the hands of consumers the numbers always get lower b/c we have the time to perfect or try

  • right, obviously you know best. Forget professional drivers that actually run the tests, sycomantz knows everything. You know what Im tired of arguing about cars because if you really knew about cars you'd know that it's the driver not the car. You take your ms3 tougeing with me and my friends and see if you can keep up. We'll drift circles around you.

  • how much is it

  • The fact of the matter is that for the price it's a bargin. Obviously Hyundai isn't known for it's "racing pedigree" like BMW, Nissan etc but atleast give them credit for trying something new. What Hyundai is doing with this car is exactly what Japanese car makers did in the early 80's, selling performance based rear wheel drive cars for cheaper than most competitors. It competes with cars like the 135i but is priced like a GTI. It's a good deal anyway you cut it. The badge ain't everything.

  • Mmhmm. I'd rather take performance and value over a badge any day. Besides, it'll be priceless telling your friends a stang was bagging on your ride so you smoked them..in a Hyundai! haha

  • They dont have the best name for quality. Dont forget its cheap for a reason.

  • so were all Hondas and Toyotas when they first came out...now look at how much they are now...a moderately loaded Civic costs $20K

  • You just said Hyundai makes "more good parts and good warrant deal than Korean version". And yet you later say "hyundai cant make attractive deal in N. America"?

Your confusing me. Go back to school and learn English.

  • External Records of Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 : 0-60 mph

    * Edmunds . com review 0-60 : 6.4 sec

    * Popular Mechanics review 0-60 : 5.8 sec

    * Car and Driver review 0-60 : 5.7 sec (all on regular gas)

    * Motor trend review 0-60 : 5.5 sec

  • lol i remember that shit i was there when they were takin that vid, /love radio station press passes

  • Hey thats the same ending as Metroid!!!

  • HunDIE sure made a powerful car and great price too. I can't wait to get this one.

  • Hyundai made a dumb decision to give the sedan the v8 and the v6 and the genesis coupe only a v6.... sorry there is no real logic there unless the engine was uber heavy.

  • they couldnt fit the V8 under the hood. but 306hp from V6 is plenty of power considering the car only weighs 3400lb.

  • 3400lbs is heavy for a car of this nature. It should be well under 3000lbs.

  • for a RWD sports coupe, 3400lb is not that heavy. the new camaro weighs 3800lb. G37 weighs 3620lb, 335i weighs 3580lb. and these are all similarly powered cars to Genesis coupe V6.

  • lets not forget that that's a 3.8 litre engine still.....BMW have made v8s smaller than that.

  • Why would they put a V-8? They're going for a cheap sports tuner car. 370, gkyline, supra, all stuff like that no V-8. Only American musscle and high end racers. Not even the GTR has a V-8. too heavy

  • it doesnt have a V-8. its a 3.8l V-6

  • I know thats why i said why would they put a V-8. someone said they should have put in a v-8 and i was saying no way cuz tuners only go with 6 cylinders at max and it would be heavy with 8. i got the 3.8 track and it's awesome. V-6 is great. V-8 just wouldn't match

  • lol so lame.

  • wow! good car , good girls

  • sexy car !!! =)

    LAME PRESENTATION !!!!

  • Hyundai GENESIS looks a lot better than

    a BMW M3.

I have an M3 from 2004 and reliability is depressing.

    BMW's reliability is terrible.

    Hyundai is much better

  • hhhhuuuuuu...no

  • GTFO.

Dont compare korean cars to high class German cars...

Bash on italy if you want though :D

  • few things in life are sexier then a woman that knows how to handle a car

  • What kind of power is the 4 cylinder supposed to make? 250ish? Even the base model should be pretty quick

  • 220 and 310 for the v6 or 8 i forgot

  • the 4 cylinder (turbo charged) makes 210-215 hp the v6 makes 310hp

  • Hopefully there will be a good aftermarket for this car...a V8 swap would be badass too!

  • theres a v8 trim

  • Not for the coupe, only the Genesis sedan gets the v8.

  • i sniff hot chiks dirty panties

  • The only thing outdated is retro cars. Those designs have been around since the 60's. The genesis is a up to date looking modern vehicle.

  • Ok, Hyundai is not owned by Crysler, they infact own KIA and supply engines to toyota and mitsu. Also, every car company takes styling cues from others. I repeat... all of them copy.

  • 01:48 you can find two Korean-slanted face.

  • This looks like they mated a G37 with a Tiburon and got this thing. The concept was definitely a lot nicer looking. The expected pricing is $22,000 to $29,000 which I guess is good because this simply doesn't have the WOW factor the concept did.

  • COMPARE TO CONCEPT!!! This is one of the worst watered down production model I've seen. Even as a Korean myself, I simply CANNOT appreciate this. I would buy the concept for up to 50k honestly. But this, I won't buy it for any more than 20k.

  • You can turn the production model into the concept with ease. And it wont cost $50K to do it. You will need these: Carbon fiber hood Carbon fiber roof Carbon fiber front fender Carbon fiber rear fender Carbon fiber rear deck spoiler Coilovers Wheels Window Tint New paint job
  • Yea, true. But I was expecting more of european way of making cars. Not Japanese, which are made to be modified. I mean, this just feels like... a celica or RSX only with a little better engine. The exterior and interior looks a bit outdated.

  • oh man carbon fiber is so awesome now that ive saved 20 lbs i can make it to the grocery store in .0000002501 seconds faster shits yeah man. maybe a full .000035 seconds faster if i drive like a fucking ricer the whole way there.

nice looking car nonetheless. dont know why the rear window dips down further than the front window, looks odd

  • hyundai isnt owned by chrysler....

  • retard.

  • HKS is already in the works for this car

  • You're an idiot. You honestly couldn't have come up with anything worse. I don't see accord in sonata at all. And you're prolly the only person in the world saying that. Same with genesis coupe and G37. But I do agree that Genesis sedan is lexus and merc copy. That's a correct statement.

  • this car is good looking but i feel like the 2003 Hyundai Tiburon (or Coupe) is better looking...this Genesis Coupe looks more like a Ford Focus...

  • hot girls hot cars hot driving

  • Hyundai is not trying to win a performance battle with anyone, they are winning the battle that matter most SALES. It takes millions of R&D to build supercars why not build a liveable everyday sportscar?

  • for navalarch07, hyundai´s not japanese is a korean car...

  • they strayed too far from the concept. its very bland now...

  • what's wrong with a Hyundai? remember when Japanese cars first came to the U.S.? LOOK WHAT HAPPENED NOW...BYE GM .. BYE BYE FORD

  • I just saw this car yesterday, it came out here in Korea...

  • So maybe he's like Paris Hilton where acting stupid for 8 years is sooooo cool.

  • lol 1590

  • its the v6

  • This is total joke! Hyundai needs to move faster than this to catch up with other sports cars. They try to feed target mkt to be some sort of avg people who want a fast cars.... they really ought to make rear engine and rear wheel drive like R8, F430 or even cheap version of boxster/cayman. Wake up Hyundai....another thing is driver should have been Korean and some American....than two white chicks.

  • Hyundai is not in the industry for sports cars fool...

You're talking 100k Audis and Ferraris? It already kicks the Boxter's ass by 1 sec, and that's the Sedan. This thing would cost probaly close to 31k sticker..Wake up dude. Compare in the same ballpark. You're proving yourself an idiot.

  • nice skills ladies

  • I have strongly considered getting the new Coupe when it comes out. I think I would go with the I4 turbo and boost it to hell. I might just wait for all the tunes and information to come back. Of course with them downgrading the tuning to incite people to pay for the V6 just shows that there is a ton of potential in the I4. DRIFTR: you are ignorant to real facts and being able to read and write. It's people like you that make America look stupid...

  • lol! i didn't see any rubber burning? I wouldn't called that burning rubber for the simple fact it's slippery gloss concrete!. Its also the 2010 production...not 2008 but i like it!!!! ...oh yeah driftR go kill yourself you illiterate bitch! lmao whats stold and quate mean? you idiot! hahaha

  • I really don't care what any haters out there say, this car is great:) I love it, very very nice, everybody else can go suck on a lemon.

  • Oh, I agree. This is a great car. Even the styling grows on you after a little while.

    I definitely want one.

  • girls where drifting these cars...oh my god

  • Honestly, I like the car besides the front which looks a bit like a typical hyundai. But you gotta give some props to them in the overall design and engineering that went into this car. Oh and fyi, mercedez, wanted to partner up with hyundai on a 4 cylinder powerplant buy hyundai said quote "I am not sure we want to share our technology." Believe that!

  • yeah, they copied... but made it alot better, and more reliable.

    :)

  • haha, if you think so. most people think while its a good back for buck, the car in most peoples opinion looks funny

  • are we talking about the hyundai coupe and the g35 or lexus and the others.

fact is. yall try to deny that the genesis coupe has g35/37 styling cues. when it does. thats the point of what i have been saying. and with your response. it shows that you see it to

everything outside of that is irrelevant

  • thats where youa re wrong. i acutally dig the genesis. but its still a cross between the tiburon and g35/37

  • hyundai genesis coupe - black - leather interior - maybe ill by a bodykit - cant wait

  • i am excited to see this car come out. i think that it is really ground breaking for Hyundai. The body style may be similar to the infiniti whatever.. but i just think this is a completely different car. there are so many other body styles out there that are similar to other cars. This car is meant to be customized by it owners. the manufacturer demonstrated this by having a sick carbon fiber hood on their show car. when i think of an infiniti i think of luxury and Hyundai i now think of fast.

  • Wow a G35 with a Hyundai badge. Whod buy one when you can have the real Infiniti. Skank

  • the G35 costs $35k, the Genesis V6 will cost around $26k, and will have similar performance. so of course its worth it.

  • thannk you. anyone that cant see the genesis is a tiburon with g35/37 styling cues are blind.

all hyundai/kia do is take other car makers ideas and try to improve them

  • DING Fk'n DING! YOU Finally got what they are trying to accomplish!

" All Hyundai/Kia do is take other car makers ideas and try to improve them "

I think thats smart, i don't know, do you? -_-

  • so with you sayingn that. go ahead and admit what youve been denying.

that the genesis coupe actaully does have G35/37 styling cues.

thats been the only point of this debate.

  • umm, i never once said it didn't or it did look like it.

have you seen me said that? wow read wont you.

  • well then im talking about the others who swear up and down it doesnt.

you jumped into a argument without knowing what it was about

  • nope i argued about how you try to point out how car companies copy like japan.

    so im backing up japan.

go on ahead with your argument about nothing, and looks on the genesis.

  • as said, you came into an arguement i was having with someone abou tthe genesis coupe having G35/37 styling cues.

you werent arguing that. so there is no bone for us to pick with heach other obviously.

    comprende?

  • bless you.

  • "so im backing up japan. "

    Hyundai is Korean.

  • Go drift or something. The adults are talking.

  • I looked up "quate" in the dictionary. It's not there. I have no fucking clue what you're trying to say.

I don't know what "going tool" means either, but I'm fairly sure I didn't. If you're trying to have a discussion, you should try using punctuation to get your point across.

By the way, "you an adult" is not a sentence. There is no verb. Has public school really declined THAT much? SUBJECT, VERB, DIRECT OBJECT (I learned that in, like, second grade).

  • I'm not "trying" to sound smart, it just happens naturally because I communicate effectively.

So the college that a person attends somehow measures their intellect? Bill Gates didn't even go to college; so much for that argument. Besides, I graduated high school in 2000, so unless I'm working on a phD, I'm definitely not in school anymore.

As for Jack in the Box (hit 'Caps Lock', it's next to the 'a' key), we don't have any around here, sorry.

  • Right... He scored high (rumors say 1590 out of a possible 1600) on the SAT and went to Harvard. He may have left school to start his own company, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he was talented enough to get in. So in this case, the college that he attended did give a pretty good measure of his intellect.

  • And George W. Bush went to Yale. College attendance is never a reliable measure of intellect.

  • Yes George went to Yale, where he majored in History. That can also say something about a person.

  • I think it says more about his parents than anything else.

  • Wow, you the best! but so what? hh.

  • I always feel sorry for the people like you, sycomantz. Talking about the design not knowing any shit about it. Describe it what you think and I will throw in a lecture just for you.

  • dont feel sorry for me. anyone with two eyes can see the G35/G37 influences in the Gen Coupes design. and i think its ugly as shit from the front. looks like garfield

even the New Accord Coupe has G35 ques.

fact is, the Gen coupe needs a few thousand for it to be on par with the likes of the Mazdaspeed 3, cobalt will destory it, wrx etc

i will burn a Gencoupe as well as out handle it in my MS3

  • well everyone gets designs from other cars. i mean how many different ways can you design it to be aerodynamic and such. you basically have the same shape but you can only tweak it and the lines and stuff so much until it cant perform with its competitors. many cars look alike and some companys copy. but you kinda have to to be within same specs and stuff

  • wow that's a first time I heard someone compare any car other than the Civic to a Mazdaspeed 3...i.e. an overpriced Mazda 3 with a turbo. Do people who know about cars a favor and don't disgrace the WRX by putting it in the same sentence as a Mazda LOL

  • first ifyou knew anything. you would know the MS3 out performs the WRX in pretty much everything. even handling.

only place where the WRX has a slight one leg up is in getting of the line. they both run roughly the same 1/4 mile. they are like a couple tenths apart. b/c have hit 13.7 stock but if you pay attention you will see the MS3 always has a higher trap speed.

of course the WRX doesnt stand a chance on a roll. but people cross shop the MS3, EVO and STI for a reason.

  • 1. b/c the MS3 is close in performance to the EVO and STI. the MS3 has no probs beating both.

    2. price per performance dollar. MS3 wins.

but once modding comes into play. the MS3 is held back by the fuel system.

but back to the genesis. it is severely outcome by the company it was made to compete against and its easy prey for your hatches like the MS3, WRX. and other cars like the Cobalt and SRT4.

and remember. i EVO is an overpriced lancer and STI impreza. wrx is easy prey

  • *corrections the MS3 has no probs beating both in stock form or slightly modded

and the MS3 and WRX run pretty much have the same E/T in the 1/4 and MS3 has a higher trap

  • those numbers are inflated...the MS3 times you are talking about is with 16psi while the stock wrx, sti and evo's run at about 10...google it. if you use the stock boost of the MS3 which is about 8 you won't get anywhere near those numbers. The MS6 which has better times can only achieve the 0-60 in 5.4 while the evo and sti achieve it in under 5's. Lastly the MS6 again stronger motor highly tuned barely hits 13's. WRX hits those easily with just an exhaust and intake

  • ok, this is why you need to stop talking. the MS3 runs are 15.6lbs of boost. thats what it comes stock so it doesnt matter. you are also forgetting how small the turbo is on the MS3. its a K04. i i guess nextyou will be saying a z06's numbers if inflated b/c it comes with 6cyl.

the numbers arent inflated. they are what they are and they are actaully conservative. but the MS3 runs at 15.6psi stock

the Ms6 and Ms3 both use the same motor you clown. so does the CX7

  • you are clearly disillusioned..first for the ms3 to run stock boost at 15.6 lbs it wouldn't make the MS3 as "fuel efficient" as they claim, smaller turbo's can't run higher boosts, and according to the manufacture stock boost for ms3's are the same as ms6 and that's 8-9

  • listenman. i own a 09 MS3. dont try and tell me what the car runs. they are both 15.6psi. actaully the MS6 may have slighty higher boost since its putting out 270ish hp compared to our 263hp.

you may want to educate yourself befor eyou start talking like a GURU... you are flat wrong.

the DISI motor is boosting 15.6psi miniminum.

obviously you arent referencing any manufact. stats b/c you are wrong

i have no probs with stock or lightly modded stis or evos. fuck a wrx

  • you know you're right...obviously. I cannot possible be right after all my only source was Mazda and Ford. Oh, but wait, except that the MAXIMUM attainable boost is 15.6psi while stock is around 8. and i've driven a car with 15 lbs of boost? You realize how strong your turbo would have to be to sustain constant boosts at that high of a level? Aftermarket ball bearing turbos can sustain it but the small turbo in the ms3 can't. It'd blow the manifold and the snail after the first month.

  • Mazda mxed this car out from factory pretty much. to attain quick turbo response.

its a K04. maybe you want to go take a look at how small our turbos are. they are TINY

it is not 8 its 15.6. maybe you are referencing the limited boost in 1st around 8-9psi and 2nd 9-11 psi

from 3rd one its at max boost. 15.6

obviously you arent reading close enough

  • and stock MS6's hit mid 13's all night long. i ran 13.9@100 with a 2.1 60' in my Ms3 when it was stock. with intake 13.7@102.4 with a 2.2 60'

secondly. do you know how heavy the MS6 is? its nearly 4000lbs. and my MS3 weighs a little more than a WRX.

WRX needs intake and exhaust to hit 13's?(im guessing you are talkign about the older ones) the new ones are equally as fast as MS3's mind you using AWD. but our traps are higher than WRX's. they have 1hp more than MS3's

    get a clue

  • first you do realize launching an AWD vehicle is harder than a FF, second a FF has a disadvantage compared to FR because of weight distribution, lastly your numbers "stock" are highly inflated...I've looked up the numbers from different car magazines (as of 2009) for the MS3 and the MS6 and none of them say anything about 13's for the ms6 or the ms3. they're all usually in the 14.5 range or above.

  • what planet are you from. NO its not harder to launch an AWD compared to a FWD.

its not "easy" to launch an AWD b/c you have to know what you are doing but launching an AWD is easier than launching a RWD and RWD is easier to launch than FWD.

magazine numbers are always conservative compared to real world driving numbers. stop mag racing so much.

its the same reason that mags will post 12's or 13's for something like a C6 ZO6 but actaully the car can hit 10's with the right driver

  • first i've dragged and drifted sti's...in order to launch PROPERLY in an AWD you have to blip the throttle to maintain boost...if you don't do that, you experience one of two things...turbo lag, or if you have too much throttle; wheel hop. and no the zo6 does not hit 10's stock with the "right driver". the zr1 doesn't even do 10's. lastly, RWD's aren't "easier" to launch...RWD's just have the advantage because of the weight distribution...i suggest you actually do your research.

  • infiniti? 300hp turbo? I think fk'n not!

give me the hyundai please, release me from these G35's that think they can pwnd anything on the road.

the only "35" i want to Be driving better have a R in front of it. (R35) :)

  • Wow a G35 with a Hyundai badge. Whod buy on when you can have the real Infiniti. Skank

  • hott blonde chicks damn

  • the coupe looks good but once again. hyundai is ripping off another infinti design.

they copied the G35s design bad

  • damn those milfs sure can drive;p

  • A 300+ horsepower V-6 is just what the doctor ordered for the high fuel costs of late--this car WILL be a hit!

  • overall i like it, i wish they would have left the front alone, it looks like the front isn't as aggressive as the concept.

  • I work for Hyundai... I've driven the Genesis Sedan and am very excited for this Tiburon replacement since it was under powered and the 3.8L is a very good motor that we don't have too many problems with. In a car this size with a carbon fiber hood and roof with rear wheel drive I can only imagine the fun I'm going to have... They haven't started the new vehicle school for it yet so It'll be a while before I get my hands on it, but i can't wait!!!

  • if you really worked for Hyundai then you should know..

    1. this isnt a tiburon replacement, or atleast they haven't announced it.

    2. the show car is the only car that has the carbon fiber hood.

  • I don't work directly for Hyundai I work for the largest Hyundai Dealer in the Phoenix, AZ Valley... So I do know that the Genesis coupe will replace the Tiburon at some point. From working with the Hyundai product for over a year I can make a reasonable guess that the carbon fiber hood will be an option for this model

  • HOLY SHIT...THOSE GIRLS CAN DRIVE

  • OMG... I've never been a fan of Hyundai.. but the other day I read in a magazine that Hyundai spent like a billion dollars and a few years designing a world class engine. Then this, this care looks almost like a Ferrari F-430! So sexy! And so much power!

Also, whoever is driving is seriously good!

Amazing, I am seriously considering getting the red one come 2010!

  • exactly and the 4 cylinder turbo is geared towards tuners which i'm sure they love.

  • this car is going to be good, the new ZF 6 speed auto mated with the new V8 engine is going to be a real thril

  • they're not going to put the V8 in the coupe, they are opting for a powerful V6. only the sedan will get the V8 sadly.

  • damn automatic trannies waste so so much fucking gas collectively. stupid lazy ass fucking americans. learn to shift it's good for your brain, your wallet, and performance...

  • you're a joke dude. that is a great car. look at the specs of the car. I'm telling you that Hyundai is committed to building great cars and their business model allows them to deliver great value to the consumer.

  • be first the asians to take on mustanges make the 4.6l v8 coupe for 27,000

  • Thats right !!! We aint slaves to Japan anymore !!!

  • never said they were 'our slaves' but its just my opinion and take on this. if youre korean i can see where you are on this, but ok japanese soldiers committed some war atrocities as did every other country; doesnt relate to this in anyway though. we didn't say ' hey make your cars look like ours and not as good or we'll tie you up and roll you over a nail board!' i mean wat the heck? and why would i be envious, when japanese cars are on top of the game anyways.

  • oh yeah~~ we all know such great car manufacturers Canadians are!

  • This car is going to be my soul!

I will NEVER buy another back stabbing piece a cock-sucking Jap Nip money shit ever again!

  • Preach it sister!

  • so basically buy one of these go to new york find a press and burn some rubber?

  • RWD, 4.6L V8, 375 bhp, limited slip = I'm completely sold.

  • The V8 is going to be in the Sedan only. For the first year at least. But, you can still get the 300hp 3.8 V6. Although, I will be getting the Turbo 2.0.

Oh yes, it will be mine.

  • Thanks, you're right actually.

BTW, I think I'd get the 2.0T because of Fuel. Chances are, it's a better revver and more eager engine anyway.

  • Turbo > NA

  • RWD.....omfg a real burnout in a "hyundai" this new genesis line is going to be interesting, like the azera... good job hyundai.

  • Aww, whats the matter? Pissed because it dosent come with a hockey stick, eh?

  • That makes no sense and I'm not even Canadian. Again, Asian cars are ugly and cheap looking.

  • Not according to your profile.

The Asian cars may be cheap looking but they will outlast anything else on the market.

  • I want to hear the engine/exhaust not that stupid sh!t music :(

  • the cars are hotter than the girls. best korean car so far i guess

  • i must agree with u but then again wut other korean cars are in the u.s. ,market? dawoo pulled out a few years ago but they were owned by gm. ive always been a nissan guy. but id like to see wut that coupe is really made of. more power to hyundai if they can build a competitive car at a cheaper price tag

  • The Genesis Coupe will be the third Hyundai in my garage! All this thing needs is a retractable hardtop version! ;)

  • RWD

  • what a great car and nice chicks!

  • Doesnt look like a Chick Car

  • 2010 is the model year, the car hits the U.S. show room in spring 2009

  • the guy said genesis 2010. does that mean it wont be available till then?

  • PRAY FOR THE SPEC-R

  • I LOVE THAT

  • is it a drift car or luxury-sport car?

  • driving car

  • pfff, i know its driving car, its drivable.... but its not intended to drift and make stupid things is it?!?

  • it's RWD so you could probably make it into a nice drift car

  • fair enuff, but in terms of suspensions, braking system?.... of course i will think errr... using a honda jazz to drift?!? its not a drift car...

  • who says women cant drive now? lol

  • who says women cant drive now? lol

  • Nope, havn't. Not a Honda/Acura fan.

  • that car is nice.. stop hatin'... everyone can tell its still a tiburon lol.. man.. did u see that turn radius tho?? i thought my Tib had good turn radius.. taht shits krazy..

  • It's not an ugly car, but the styling definitely needs tweaking...lots of tweaking.

  • I guess I should add that if I had the money for a McLarenF1, I'd rather have a large house, a cessna prop plane, and a Hyundai.

  • I think it is a good looking car. And although I prefer the 4 door..I'd probably buy it. Unfortunately the US can't make good cars and offer 10 year/100,000 mile warranties. And all you 14 year old badasses that say the driving sucked would most definitely damage these cars driving in that space.

  • I am trying to figure out the type of people who will actually buy this ugly vehicle with real money.

  • Obviously the ones that can't afford Mclaren...
