What's the difference between pig, dog or cow other than human choices. Dogs are cute and chosen to be pets by some, they can be chosen to be food by others too. You may say that dogs are just animals, but 15,000 years ago, man and wolves began to rely on each other to survive. It was a partnership between two species to make each others lives easier. Those who think of this friendship as "another animal" and "food" do not seem to have a legitimate concept of friendship.

You may say that dogs are just animals, but 15,000 years ago, man and wolves began to rely on each other to survive. It was a partnership between two species to make each others lives easier. Since we are the "owners", we are seen as the "pack leader", or the dominant ones. @nanci00 Yeah, I thought this would be a purely scientific topic, but I see you're being prejudiced again. What, so we're sadists because we eat dogs, and the ones in the West that make dogs fight each other aren't? We don't kill for entertainment, we kill for FOOD. I'm not saying it's right to beat the crap out of the dogs to make them taste better, that's fucking sick, but if they are humanely put down, then I see nothing wrong with it.

I think the Korean animal activists are doing a great job. It is for the animal lovers in that country to make changes in their own culture. It's not for me to sit with my pet cat and condemn what other cultures do (unless it is in hurting and killing other humans that is a bit different). The Korean actor/dancers have made a great show to make others think. In time it will change. Excellent show!

well its not like dog cruelty doesn't happen in the US. quite a few people in the US participate in underground dog fighting. in dog fighting they literally rip each other apart. parts of their mouths and face as well as other body parts are ripped/torn off. afterwards injured dogs are tossed in the garbage can like trash.
at least people who eat dog is doing it for food and they are not going to waste.

Dog's aren't man's best friend. Some Americans taught of that and everyone believed it. Cows and horses helped men in war and in peace plowing fields and building rail roads. Just because Cows, Pigs, Horses don't express emotion doesn't unfairly make them lower than dogs. They are all equal, they can be used in various ways by their owners. They can be food too. It's a matter of choice.

@Sweltering Come'on dude, you can disapprove of eating dog meat but you have no right to imply that those who do are not "decent". We eat beef everyday and there are people somewhere who think Cows are Sacred. It's a matter of choice. We don't want them implying we are indecent for eating beef don't we? Cows arrived in slaughter houses everyday with cut lips and noses and we don't want them lecturing us about cruelty. It's their land. Leave them alone, let them do it themselves.

@hornytoad5 It's not the fact they eat dog, it's how they are being killed for the meat. There is no need to torture an animal for their meat/skin/whatever you want. Those who do torture the dogs, are indecent people in my opinion and I stand by my statement. Regardless of where they're from. Beef or any other form of meat is not relevant in this video.

@Sweltering Well at least we can agree on one point that Asian people has the right to chose which animals they want to eat and if they chose to eat dogs they should be respected.
Cruelty is another issue. It applies to all animals not just dogs. So these protesters should protest on cruelty to all animals and not just dogs. Cows and pigs are also treated inhumanely in some Asian countries.

Also, yes I realize other animals are tortured world wide, but was not commenting on other animals as this video is about dog meat only.

I'm American we don't eat dogs we eat pigs. The nasties animal on the face of the earth. That why we are the fattest nation on the planet. If dog meat keep you healthy go for it. I lived in Germany and ate horse before and its quiet tasty.
