  • @Newmans2001 due to the royal assignation as the Royal Highland Regiment, it permits the pipers the right to wear the royal Stewart whiles on parade as their tartan, although drummers are required to wear the Black Watch's own distinctive tartan instead.

  • Just a dumb Colonial, but aren't the Black Watch dressed Black with a Green and Black Tartan? Someone enlighten the world here?

  • Wow.. even watching this years later.. still amazing.. great cutoff too!

  • I miss this Cadet Core !

  • I love the sound of bagpipes, but my cats hate it. :-)

  • its just the recording not picking up the bass, probably not the highest quality mike

  • I might sound a bit ignorant but why in the hell is the bass drum using such meaningless magnets, you simply can't hear him at all.

  • @a1q2s3 - He's playing lightly so as not to dominate the whole performance. The pitch is lower than can be reproduced on a small loudspeaker. Listen to it live and you will hear the bass.

  • @shadowwarrior03, oh, LOL i just realized I said magnets instead of mallets

  • I miss it!

  • Very good.

  • Oh here we go again. It is the Pipes and Drums of the Black Watch (RHR) of Canada, and it is still an authorized military pipe band, which dates back to the 1870s. It is also the oldest military pipes & drums in North America. And now you know.
