  • no chalking, very easy shots, bad drill in my opinion

  • That's a good drill, but the circle is too big. 15 balls and such a huge circle gives you too many options and the position doesn't have to be so perfect. You're better off doing 8 balls with a 1 diamond radius.

  • i always think im starting to get good at pool then i watch a video like this, dammit

  • Good Job !! Southpaw

  • hideous stroke terrible player

  • Is he playing speed pool, or showing us a drill??? cracks me up

  • that drill is terrible, practices nothing...

  • After close review, I admit that on my second to last shot in the drill I allow the cueball to leave the circle by the smallest of margins. This video was posted to allow the viewer to see a pretty hard drill to accomplish. It was also mentioned to me that it doesn't contribute to real pool game situations but I beg to differ! Many amateurs and beginning players have trouble with finesse on draw/stop shots. To draw 9 inches instead of 6 takes good touch. You need this in competitive situations!

  • Im not trying to be a jerk, IMO, in order for a drill to actually benefit your game and use it as a way to find weaknesses, you need to shoot the shots in a specif order or at least play shape for a specif ball at all times. In this case it looks like you don't play shape for any specific ball until the last few shots force you too, which then you shoot the 8ball in the corner straight on, which means the cue ball is out of the circle. either way, fast run!

  • Nice job, that drill is pretty challenging.. You have a nice game it seems.. Peace out!

  • really cool drill. the only problem i have is with a draw shot, i can't a put a backspin on the cue ball..when it hits the OB it just stops like a stop shot, any advice as to what i'm doing wrong?

  • the "draw shot" is a shot you must learn to help you position the cue ball into locations that otherwise would be impossible to reach with an ordinary rolling shot. It requires good technique and plenty of trial and error practice. To learn this shot the easiest, you should have a fellow pool player who is an expert on all types of pool strokes show you. Usually someone good at pool will be flattered to display their skills to someone eager to learn. It's hard for me to write what you must see!

  • But, in short, you must stroke the cue as level and low to the playing surface as possible. Aim for center low contact on the cueball. If you strike too high(too close to center) there will be no backspin put on the cueball. If you hit it too low the leather tip will slip off the bottom of the ball causing the ball to hop in the air(known as a miscue!). If its just right the tip will grab the ball and cause backspin to occur while the ball is traveling forward. Check for videos on the subject.

  • @creatyve

    Checklist:

    * How's your tip? Is it in good condition? Proper diameter? Chalked?

    * Nice easy grip on the cue butt. Don't try to strangle it.

    * Keep your cue level.

    * After the last practice stroke, pause at the backstroke. Then a nice smooth acceleration through the cue ball, below center. The tip of you cue should end up ON THE TABLE 6-8 inches past where the cue ball was.

    Power does not equal draw.

SMOOTH ACCELERATION keeps the cue tip on the ball longer generating more backspin.

  • @creatyve dont hold ur cue 2 tight, hit the ball near the bottom and follow through when you hit the ball, im no teacher but that works for me n i used to struggle with backspin

  • @creatyve aim lower and get a soft or a medium tip.

  • you can try hitting a little lower then you do with a little more force

  • I was going for under a minute without a miss but came up five seconds long!! Maybe soon I'll post a video in under a minute. Remember, what makes this drill challenging is to not allow the cue ball to disturb any other ball or leave the circle during the runout! Make the circle large, extending from footspot to headspot. Good luck and happy shooting!
