i have an easy legit and fun way to get rich in new vegas! make your luck on your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes 10 and when you get to new vegas play the slot machines on max bet. i did this and i won so much money that i have been kicked out of every casino in new vegas! i have over 60,000 caps now but when i first did it i had almost a 100,000 caps!!! like so others can see my strategy! :D
If you were to walk out the door and walk back in, after it quick saves, all the stuff that you put in the bathroom that you got from the table will be in perfect condition and you will easily triple your money. It does not work on the stuff on the shelves though and you have to walk out the store itself but it works and is well worth it, well atleast for xbox.
good tip, if you are a high level try going into the gun runners facility and kill the guards, it's fairly easy and their combat armor can be sold for over 2000 caps a piece
Also, for PC Z will pick up items.

This is so time consuming it hurts. Put on a stealth boy and steal it instead. Right in front of them. It worked for me and it will work for you.

An esaier way is just get a stealth boy, then just take all the weapons and grenades.
