Even though many people abroad won't believe me, most of us, normal and young Spaniards hate killing the poor animals and these bullfights... now just old people actually enjoy this and pay for it, the rest of us would love to see this abolished, but the governments just won't do it.
This is an awful and very old tradition, it doesn't actually show the truth about Spain now... :(
" Cruel as this all seems for the bulls " . Whats cruel about keepin the bulls in dark stalls, withholding food and water and giving them laxatives so the will be dehydrated, putting vaseline in their eyes to impair their vision, putting wet cardboard in their eyes to throw off their balance, putting a spray on their legs so if they try to lay down , it will burn their bellies, then running them trough the streets to tire them out, just so they can be gang stabbed to death ? True Artform
@TxPranksta Well finally, someone who knows the truth about the.....hut hum...uhh "Artform"? LoL! Oh and if you think this slow, agonising, exhausting, torture-taunting finishes when the BULL collapses and is dead and the people cheer the Matador well......it doesn't! The bull is an obviously strong animal or was and they drag it away into a slaughter pen underneath the stadium .Here the bull slowly agonisingly bleads, goes into shock, has a heart attack when its organs fail and well....
I know a Spainiard who does this....I would love to see him do this for real.

@highmover88 You can't just go any time of year... it's at the beginning of the San Fermin festival. Any one older than 18 can participate.

I find the running part facinating and exiting but the second part when they kill the bull sucks...

Pamplona is well worth a visit, try it in September for the "little San Fermin" where you have the festivities but no bullfights.

No matter what they say, the running of the bulls in Pamplona is still one of the most exciting festivals in the world.

It's a cruel practice. It should not be glorified at all.

Dare I ask if Rick ran the streets in his early travels of Pamplona?
