Finally after two years managed to change from this one to Canon 60D.. Couldn't be happier.. As a photographer I can say that was my biggest mistake to take this in the first place. Don't get me wrong, it's an OK camera for people who look for a camera, but for a serious photography I'd rather Be on Canikon team..

olympus is definitely not a very good brand.

if u compare the image quality of olympus to canon or nikon, u can tell the difference immediately.

i'd rather u get a cheapo body like the EOS 1000D or a Nikon D3100

the price is affordable and the image quality is much better than olympus~

I have this one and well, i really like it. Small, true SLR and tough build. The images are sharp and clear.

only the display is said 1627 photos available to be taken, is that with the CF card? and JPEG or RAW? because that's so much more memory than my xD cards hold and i'm considering buying a CF card :)

Since E-420 has one of the smallest sensors availible, any recent DSLR is better than this. Nothing else can beat the price, though.

don't get cheated by the sensor size myth. the zuiko digital lens make the difference. they leave both canon or nikon in the dust. plust this is a small DSLR. a good thing if you travel and want to have long lasting batteries. also you got compact flash card, card that you have on canon models, starting with $2000.

i think a lot of the people commenting and saying negative things don't realize that not everyone is a pro photographer that needs an insanely high end camera. im an illustration student but were forced to buy a dslr that well use throughout the program. so i don't need a crazy amazing camera. just one that will do. plus im poor. thats why im gonna get this or the 520. =/

I have the 450 which is pretty much this camera but with 3 dumb art filters and is marketed different. I love it. I does lack in some areas but for the beginner or amateur or even the serious amateur this camera takes the cake. IMO

Excellent build too. I dont think he mentions how solid this thing is and how great the 14-42 mm lens feels. I have used canons and nikons and I dont think they feel as good to hold as this. Not that it makes a camera but I for one want comfort and durability.

Type in Olympus 620 on Google and read reviews, and then do the same for Canon 40D. Then compare.

I bought the E-420 SE with 17,5-45mm lense, just today.

As it comes without memory card, I decided to get the SanDisk Compact Flash Card Extreme III with 8GB.

Only thing I'm missing is the Lens Hood LH-61C.
