  • When people say the pledge in class. I sit there and finish my work. I undoubtedly love this country as my home, but I refuse to pledge my life to the ONE THING I KNOW THUSFAR, and will never do so until I've experienced many flags that I could potentially praise to the fullest of my ability.

  • my personal pledge (feel free to to share)

"I pledge alegience to no one,a citizen of the world,

and to the family of mankind, within the laws of nature,

one world, living rationaly, with unity and equality for all"

    blessings 888

  • i pledge allegiance to my fellow americans that want to destroy the tyrant government that rules us at gunpoint and denies our rights.. they are my true brothers and caretakers of freedom

  • Anyone who thinks an indoctrinated and/or forced pledge of allegiance to a flag of all things, proofs loyalty or patriotism, does not understand what those terms mean or how they are achieved.

  • the pledge of allegiance is kinda like what n korean kids and chinese kids have to say every morning but conservatives would condemn the governments of n korea and china for their children having to spit that stuff

  • Republicans can't stand the original phrasing "one nation indivisible" because they are the most divisive of all people in the U.S. This guy can't even say "indivisible."

  • I don't understand this whole pledge bull.

    Pledge allegiance to my ass.

Its all semantics with politics now days, never about the issues.

  • IT sure does drive us liberals crazy when dumb politicians try to fool us....you can only fool the conservatives. We have figured you out, unlike the folks who belong to the cult of Fox News.

  • Its obvious what happened. He was thinking about the "under God" part so much that he skipped "indivisible". You can tell by how he put extra emphasis on "under God". Yeah it was a gaff, but he didn't butcher it.

I'd be more worried about someone who hasn't said the pledge since high school trying to talk about patriotism or politics in general.

Kink, or whatever your name is. You are a boil on the ass of America.

  • You haven't said the pledge since you were in high school? Oh, I guess you only said it when you were a minor and had no choice. Now that you are all grown up, I guess you don't need to say it any more. You are probably so relieved.

You have no respect for our country OR our flag. You continue to make me SICK!

  • The Slackest of Kindergarteners > Akin

  • Conservatives are the gift that keeps on giving!

  • all conservatives talk about is freedom and god.

if you believe in freedom then you should take the "one nation under god part"

FYI that part wasnt even in there until the 1950's

    go figure

  • holy shit, jayar AGAIN says what i am thinking

  • What a loser, who forgets the pledge of allegiance?

  • would you expect any less of Repubs to stomp their feet about something they know nothing about?

  • I grew up learning the pledge and the smuck forgot the ONE line O.o. Maybe i'm over reacting but how can u forget the pledge? In fact in the 90's-2000+ we went from under god to leaving that part out and just saying the rest because not everyone believed in god. I hate it when people make a big deal about things and then mess up the same thing they want to save o.o. If u know the pledge as cenk says "god bless move forward" if not don't embarrass urself>.>

  • agreed with facemobb954

i dont even have to think much to recite the damn pledge.

  • Such 1984 tactics.

False christians. False Americans. False patriots.

It's green, green and more green for them!

  • Yeah it was a nice touch to stop the sentence at a comma and leave off indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

  • "UNDER GOD"

All Hail the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

    Ramen!

  • Conservative Fail

  • hahahaha

  • Douchebag...

How do you forget the pledge?...

    sad

  • Why do we pledge to support a flag? We should change it so that we are pledged to our country's ideals. It works for Germany.

  • just one more gop fuchhead

  • The fact that he has to add, "And it drives the Liberals crazy" proves he is immature. The whole motivation that some of these "patriots" construct as ways of ticking off Liberals is such a waste of political energy, but I guess it appeals to people who are about 6 years old emotionally and think it is worth cutting off their own noses to annoy someone they are in contempt of. I have yet to meet a Liberal whose policy choices exist only to annoy and upset Conservatives.

  • well said!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • i wonder how many gop know that the words under god were not in the orginal pledge. oh and correction i have no problem with the pledge at all i have a problem with the fake patroits that are the republicans saying the pledge and not adhearing to those words

  • Hey guys, subscribe to my show, The Third Hour. A progressive talk show similar to The Young Turks

  • It's nice when they screw things up. I've heard that you forget spelling stuff, but the pledge of allegiance? You can't not forget it. I tell you the country is gone crazy and those who go along with it are on the same train. It's sickening.

  • oh he left out INDIVISIBLE on purpose to TEXAS CAN succeed from the Union ! lol

  • It wouldn't be such a big deal if he wasn't such a huge advocate of the pledge, and claimed that knowing and reciting it was a shot at "the Liberals". Yes, mistakes happen but it's hard not to focus on someone like him screwing up something he claims to defend and know so well.

  • We are the only democracy that has a "pledge".

Those things are normally reserved for totalitarian governments.

  • It drives us crazy when someone protesting agaisnt us using that very phrase can't even say THE GOD DAMNED THING RIGHT!

  • same old tactic of the conservatives, and not just in the US. They claim any progression is un-patriotic, they dont care if it is or isn't relevant, thus creating a' them and us' feeling amongst their supporters...

  • Yeah hahaha liberals hate the Pledge of Allegiance, ho ho ho, he sure has us there.

Seriously, where do these guys get this stuff? I don't know a single person who has a problem with the Pledge of Allegiance. Some may not like the "under God" part, but as for caring about the country? Come on, it's ridiculous. These guys have nothing and they offer no viable solutions to anything. They're just pathetic.

  • I love you Bill.

  • Well hell I love you too. :)

  • He did the Missouri version... Nelly Style...

    With liberty dere...

  • The Young Turks is Not a News Program

    watch?v=JAAP_jJ8F9s

  • your link is useless

  • I'm a liberal, and I can actually recite the pledge.

  • somebody make them stop saying the pledge of allegiance, it's hurting my Commy ears.

  • well it doesnt bother me an i'm liberal, so that was dumb, but moreover we arent a nation under God, there are some who truly follow God in this nation but not all. in order for that to be so i think that everyone in this nation would have to willing choose to follow God, and our leaders would be the Godliest of us all, but this is not the case. not everyone wants to follow God and our leaders are very corrupt

  • what a fuckin idiot. u cant talk about things that u dont remember

  • he also remembered the added on part. the "under god" part that was added in the 50's

  • Correct atheistnarutofan, "Under God" was officially incorporated into the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954.

  • Yep, contrary to popular belief it wasn't always there. President Eisenhower added it in. He also put "In god we trust" on paper money, replacing E Plurubus Unum.

  • Same with "In God We Trust" on our money in 1957, I believe....

    ....And they call us unconstitutional...

  • Why are you such a compulsive liar...?

  • Oh I forgot....CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the Kook Media don't report this stuff.

It's out there and there are those that want it gone. Just Google

    Pledge of Allegiance in Schools...

  • I never heard anyone on the left say they don't want flags in school. Don't call into question people's patriotism just because you don't agree with their political viewpoints. For example, I don't agree with yours, but I don't think you're unpatriotic. I just think you're a moron.

  • Damn, I can't decide whether to call him a jackass or a dumbass. Any suggestions?

  • both

  • Protect the pledge from......what exactly?

  • SOCIALISM SDFGTHJ

  • If the pledge of allegiance is too hard for this asshole, then how dare he sponsor a bill to protect the pledge of allegiance?

This idiot needs to be voted out now!

  • HAHAHAHAHA WHAT A FUCKING RETARD.

  • Typical wingnut......

These people should all hang their heads in shame.......

They are unAmerican, unpatriotic and not suited to hold public office.

Watch how many get voted out of office in the next elections. We, the people are sick of them.

  • I love how Cenk always starts up with: "This isn't about this at all". Then it seems the whole segment is about it anyways. Wow, this man really has an ability to make mountains out of molehills.

  • This guy is a real douchebag...

    ...even children know the PLEDGE...

typical, they guy who claims to be Ultra-American doesn't even know how to pledge Allegiance to her...

Republicans are just sad...plain and simple.

  • Isn't it ironic how "the land of the free" forces its children to speak a loyalty oath every morning.

  • todd aiken is just another typical american and america hating gop'er. his whole idea with sponsering this bill is to "stick it to the liberals" sorry todd but i thought your job in washington is to support america and americans and do what's right for them not to go on some liberal witch hunt. so concerned about liberals that you can't even do your job. this guyis using this to make himself seem patriotic like all these republicans do and then ignore the will of the people

  • it kind of say that the GOP wants the country to be divided, but under God

  • The Republican screw-ups with be amusing if they weren't so sad.

  • GOP FAIL # 125 378 075 786 997

  • Republicans have killed thousands of Americans with their stunts and delay theatrics over the last 8 months. Enough is enough. The American people have spoken and they want health care reform with a strong public option. No more Republican nonsense in the US Senate. Call your Senator and tell him you want health care reform passed in the Senate through the reconciliation process.

To Hell with Snowe, Lieberman, and Bauchus.

57 Democrats will vote for health care reform

    DEMAND A VOTE NOW!

  • ...........LOL hahahhahahahahahahahaha

    ahhahahahaahahahahahahahahaha

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

FAIL!!!!!!!! Ohhh man, stop it, hahahahahhah GTFO this Country?!? lol jk jk jk (Sarcasm)

  • Agreed...........LOL hahahhahahahahahahahaha

    ahhahahahaahahahahahahahahaha

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Good thing we don't live on an earth created by some Supreme Omnipotent Being (SOB for short).

  • Boo-fucking-hoo.

  • Or maybe he purposefully left out "indivisible" because such a thing could be seen as "socialist".

  • And they say we atheists 'butcher' the pledge when we omit 'Under God'...which was the damn original version! Clearly they don't realize that America is not a Christian nation and that 'Under God' was only added to separate us from the Communist cesspool that was the world to them in 1954 under Eisenhower.

  • He was too busy emphasizing UNDER GOD to remember indivisible - brilliant.

  • When I say the pledge of allegance at school (it's mandatory) I replace 'under god' with 'under corporations' partly because I am non-religious and because we ARE under corporations.

  • A lot of Republicans don't actually read the US Constitution just like a lot of the Religious Right doesn't actually read their Bibles.

  • Yeah, they really like the certainty and the supposed absolute and unambiguous framework old documents seem to provide.

Though they rarely read them and are usually told what is in them by a figure they view as unquestionable whether its dick Cheney or there racist dad.

  • We already know a lot of Republicans don't really care about these kinds of things nearly as much as they claim. If they cared about the Constitution as much as they claim they would know that Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution allows for things like the creation of social programs. They would also realize that the Bill of Rights makes things like the Orwellian "Patriot Act" unconstitutional and they wouldn't support it.

  • haha, look how quickly he walks away after it's over.

  • GrahamKeithTodd - You bring up a good point. (And I did forget, lol)

  • he also said Ajacks1911 old son

"that patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel" old Dr Samuel Johnson knew of what he spoke about!

  • These guys are all wife beaters and closet homos

  • "These guys are all wife beaters and closet homos" -qwertywxyz

    Argumentum ad hominem.

I don't really care what side of an issue someone is, but it annoys me when people resort to logical fallacies. When a person engages in childish name calling it detracts from the arguments of individuals with whom they align themselves and increases the validity of the arguments of the individuals the insults sought to malign.

  • @cryingsoftly

    calm down.

  • I am calm, I just point out the pointlessness of using ad hominems on a regular basis.

  • you over analyze too much... just calm down

  • Nah, I tend to ignore what people actually say and attack everyone (myself included) on how they say it. It is all shits and giggles.

  • What drives me crazy is not that he is reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, or even that he recited it wrong.

The problem I have is that he and people like him are only doing it to grandstand.

And, let's face it, the Pledge needs to protection. It is not endangered.

    Get real.

  • He doesn't like the indivisible part. I don't really care about the "under God" part. This is a silly bill, and if someone sponsored a bill to to remove "under God", I would think that bill was silly. Is this the kind of crap we pay these people 6 digits a year for? Write some legislation that deals with real issues.

  • i'm wary of anything that asks or demands allegiance. i'm even more wary when the thing requiring allegiance is an inanimate object.

  • Patriotism fail

  • HA! fuckin idiots.

  • Old son, is that what we are saying now? Anyway, Old son, keep in mind that these are the people who thought Born in the USA was an anthem to the greatness that is America. CmdrTobs, you hit the nail on the head, like drug addiction, far right conservatism should be treated, not punished.

  • I love the comment, "Drives the liberals crazy" and Bachmann laughs her imbecilic head off.

There non-thinking base who loves "us them" 'starwars' politics will now add "liberals hate the pledge of allegiance" to a mental list in their minds somewhat erroneously titled 'Valid points"

I am really believing what republicans have is a thinking disorder. A real illness.

  • Well, it's already been proven by psychologists that conservatives tend to use "motivated reasoning" more often than liberals. Conservatives have been studied for decades by psychologists and they've come to the conclusion that right-wing people tend to be less open to learning new things, less tolerant of ambiguity and less secure (might explain their obsession with fear). They also tend to be less educated, except for the millionaire Republicans who vote that party for obvious reasons.

  • Yes I am planning to look for them when I get an oppertunity to access some journals....

  • I found a couple:

(dot) thirdworldtraveler (dot) com / Society / Conservatives _ Deconstruct (dot) html

    (dot) psych (dot) nyu (dot) edu / amodiolab / Amodio % 20 et % 20al (dot) % 20 (2007) % 20 Nature % 20Neuro (dot) pdf [Free PDF Form]

  • Great stuff. tehant1liberal definitely has a dysfunctional ACC. Its not even what he says per se, its the fact he says all those things that are typically the opposite of the TYT video and feels he needs no proof or need to site evidence for his view outside the self evident proof he sees.

Its absolutely amazing to read his posts. He has got perfect circular absolutist reasoning.

Ironically he is exactly like the Muslim extremist he so hates more than any 'liberal', he just can't see it....

  • GOP=lulzz

  • where is keyboard cat when we need him.

  • @sadie0087777, I heard keyboard cat died. =(

  • well danjorgen old son it's NOT the Christian God.. any fool knows that God is an ENGLISHMAN!

(said with his tounge firmly in his cheek!)

  • this just goes to prove their IS a GOD!..

fancy forgetting your own countries pledge of allgeiance...

    WHAT A TOSSPOT!

  • Here's a thought: Maybe he MEANT to leave out the "indivisible" part off.

  • About that, I think you're correct. This is revisionism at its finest.

  • God this country is sad... We are a bumbling eagle flapping our left wing and our right wing in opposite directions instead of using our little eagle brain. Gotta go with democrats/liberals at least they are trying to make things better.

  • Notice how loudly he had to throw in "Under God"... and the bastard knows full well that "under god" got added there when HE was a kid. Which is why he fucked it up, because he hasn't said it since he was a kid when it was only "Indivisible". Fucktard.

  • actually the pledge of allegiance does piss me off because it is so conceited to think that god is only in America. just like George Carlin and Bill Maher said.

  • I think it's the stupidity that drives everyone crazy who just so happens to see this shit.

  • It is not even funny how pathetic republicans are!!

  • Schwang wang wang

  • the part where he screwed up doesnt matter so much to me, i mean come on everyone gets nervous and slips up in front of large crowds. although it was pretty ironic.

however, i do think it was uncalled for for him to say that saying the pledge of allegiance drives liberals crazy. so many conservatives think that liberals hate this country, when its really not true at all.

  • It's the opposite... in that Republicans hate the country. Who are all the secessionists? They're right wing Republicans.

  • I'll give him the beneifit of the doubt and say he just slipped up in the moment. The comment that the pledge of allegiance makes liberals cringe is absolutely appalling. These guys really think or at least would like to perpetuate the idea that liberals hate America? Jayar's right: a comment like that is completely divisive.

  • i used to think it went ".. four witches stand.... invisible with liver tea and just this for all." i used to imagine these 4 invisible witches making everyone drink liver tea and not anything else. lol! i like my version better.

  • The guy with "ENOUGH" on the tee shirt was on point. These extremists want to destroy and indivisible is exactly what they don't want.

  • Forced patriotism = Fascism

  • Comment removed

  • With all of the evilness and bloodshed on America's hands why do these Republicans seem to think God endorses them? God should despise them.

Don't they read their Bible? If they did they'd know about the world powers and the Anglo-American world power will be crushed.

  • Yeah, what was that part you forgot? Indivisible? Go figure...they're ALL about division.

  • FailBlog needs to post this fail

  • "with liberty and justice for all" oh the irony kills me.... liberty for all except gays, and justice for all except ppl who work for haliburtan and got raped in iraq, but have something in their contract that wont let them get a fair hearing.... liberty and justice not for the ppl but for the corporations, so that they can continue to rape the american ppl....

  • This Congressman is so incredibly stupid, it's hard to believe the people of his district would re-elect him.

  • Whoo! JR echoed my words!

  • I hate how he butchers a bunch of famous speeches in his run up to the pledge. I like that the word he forgot was "indivisible" when he was trying to insult the liberals and divide the country even further.

  • No, what makes it so funny, is the self-righteous asshole insulting liberals, saying we are driven crazy by the Pledge, and then he screws it up. He screwed it up in his effort to get to the phrase "under God" so he could scream it at the top of his lungs. Idiot. Serves the prick right.

  • i remember when i was in 3rd grade and i refused to say it or stand and the teacher asked why and i was like THIS COUNTRY FUCKING SUCKS

  • Where was this douche-bag in 1954 when a group of Catholics shamelessly mutilated it into its current day form. God damn, I say that the pledge that was good enough for the Greatest Generation while storming Normandy is good enough for me!

  • at least Americans know their pledge of allegiance and their national anthem. i don't have a clue what the British national anthem is.

  • well shizzforbrains old son it's called

    "God Save The Queen"

(or when we dont have a Queen)

    "God Save The King"

look it up..it's on you tube!

  • I won't shit on the man for that, god knows I misspeak all the time, in fact I just did right now. But don't you simply have to speak the pledge and not act it out bombastically?

Seriously, just say the pledge, don't take certain words and go crazy with them.

  • When was "under god" added to the pledge? 1954 right? Doesn't that mean to really protect the pledge you would have to take it back to how it was at the start?

  • It is so unfortunate the congressman stumbled on his own amendment.

Once a crack pot always a crackpot.

It is what happens when you make stuff up as you go along

  • under god wasn't even added to the pledge until 1950's

  • HAHAH AHAH... Cons!

  • another Freudian slip by the conservatards...

  • I think he just got a little excited trying to please the religious right.

    Premature Exclaimation?

What kind of dimwit gets so excited he messes up when brown nosing his constituents anyway?

  • That's what I'm saying. How are you going to support ammendment for protecting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag when you don't know the whole pledge. Ridiculous and absurd.

  • Red Skelton did a better job at it, I think.

  • Shit I never even thought about what indivisible meant when in came to the pladge

  • One nation under god? Jeez poor Americans.

  • Ha Ha Ha Ha he forgot the pledge!!! My cvhild will never say the pledge, I haven't said it since 6th grade

  • I never forgot it but I also haven't said it since I think 4th or 5th grade... even then I figured out it was BS! I got in trouble daily until my dad had a heated discussion with the staff... since then I was allowed to sit it out. I'm going to teach my daughter the same and "God" help the teachers that try and pressure her into it.

  • no he's an idiot

  • what a clown. doesnt he ever hear what hes saying? creatures like him should be laughed at, not applauded. really, what a clown...

  • did he say amberica at 1:06???

  • Comment removed

  • I love The Young Turks, but I wish they'd stop making these kinds of videos. It's the same kind of mudslinging bullcrap that Conservatives make that have no real consequences. I'd hate to see TYT fall into the same hole as Fox.

Obama and Stevens both messed up the pledge. A Republican messed up the pledge of Allegiance. Even if the Congressmen messed up his left and right, it has no real meaning on his views or his work.

  • TYT is a talk show...and its not simply because he messed up the pledge..actually watch the video.

  • when you are proclaiming how important the pledge and say it "drives liberals crazy" (blatantly false) and you then screw it up 5 seconds later, you deserve this!

its kinda like when you type on the internet "your stupid"

  • I never said anything about his maturity or lack thereof, just how it doesn't reflect on his ability as a Congressman.

I won't lie; I think this guy is a huge idiotic douchebag; I just don't like these kinds of stories on either side of the party line.

  • i like them when people making stupid assumptions about something stupid do something even stupider

    stupid!

  • leave my stupid alone! he tries hard....

  • u r a retrd

  • no u r a morAn

  • what has this got to do with anything? Knuckle dragging Neantherthals !!

  • This has some importance because it shows at least how hypocritical he is.

    It's also just funny.

  • I would never pledge any allegiance to a flag, nor a country.

  • why?

  • He tried to front the liberals...LOL....what a TOY!!!!!

  • UNDER GOD, inbid, indibi, invindiblicible,whatever...

  • Maybe he should use the original salute to the flag. You know, the salute that looked like the Nazi salute!

  • Even I knew that part and I hadnt said it in 20 years. I like how he didnt forget the UNDER GOD part and put emphsis on it. The one part of the whole thing that should actually have been omitted.

  • Jayar makes great points. Good looking out Jayar.

  • not necessarily under god

  • he just lost the game.

  • That guy is dumber than sarah palin

  • What about that idiot that used the DofI in place of the Preamble? Not Limbaugh, Boehner.

  • thats a pretty bold statement... i mean... were talking sarah palin here...

  • Palin is not stupid. She is an expert at manipulating people, taking advantage of religious dogmatism and ignorance. She knows EXACTLY what she is doing. Exploiting the ignorance of others, she gained high office by bringing dirty big city machine politics into the small town of Wausilla, and then into the state politics of Alaska.

  • @dangerouslytalented

I'm gonna stick with "fuckin' stupid."

  • So true. Shes a smart clown.
