  • wow what an intelligible response

  • He was great in 'Camp Hell'

  • such confidence. well played jesse

  • He is soo smart for an actor even for a person and alot of ppl wish they could talk to him or meet him(or date him) and he doesnt see that ppl like him and the haters need to go and jump off a cliff because thats why he isnt on FB or Twitter and he really doesnt use the internet alot

  • Jesse has stubble.....those fingers uugh

  • he's so witty i wish i could talk like him.

  • Jesse is a flawless human being but he fails to see that. It gives me a bad case of the creys. D:

  • Honestly, I don't care what this is about, I just love looking at Jesse.

  • If the worst thing people can say about Jesse is that he supports talking in movies, then I think he's doing pretty well for himself...also he doesn't support it, he just says it's his job to make sure his movies are interesting enough to prevent people from chatting about non movie related things during them. How is that pretentious? Intelligent and having an informed opinion =/= pretentious.

  • lol alamo....i love you and thank you for posting your fails.... did i mention i love you

  • Sorry Jesse - fuckers who talk during movies should be pistol-whipped to within an inch of their lives and then taken to prison. Their cars should be crushed and their cell phones flung into the sea. For starters.

  • @Kashish92 Obviously my quote was for the most part in jest as it's a quote from Firefly. But it doesn't change my opinion that people shouldn't do it. And really it is kind of a big deal, I don't shell out my ten dollars to hear about some other person's day. Just because they don't enjoy it, doesn't mean I or others don't. One person's opinion should not effect those who do not share it. I agree with him on the "community" reactions, but off topic conversation is a no-no, no excuses.

  • he is such a cutie but people should be courteous to STFU

  • @Kashish92 and @newtownmack.

I do know the definition of elitist. In this video while yes Kashish he makes a joke at his own expense, he is still holding his craft and others who practice it to the highest of standards. I think it is totally elitist to give clearance to people talking in a movie just because they do not enjoy the performance. Like Shepard Book once said (paraphrased) "There is a special circle in hell reserved for child molesters, and people who talk in the theater."

  • @SmashleyMasher And he has the right to. It's his opinion on the matter. Frankly talking during a movie or one's thoughts on the topic should not be held to these kind of standards. I understand that it's a big pet peeve of people, but in all honesty it is not that big of a deal. And I understand that your quote is (hopefully) for the most part in jest, but that exactly proves my point. Talking in a theater =/= child molesting. He considers it his own fault if people talk in his movie. And to be

  • @SmashleyMasher perfectly honest that's a pretty logical response. Probably the least self entitled one you would get out of an actor - a younger one at that.

  • @SmashleyMasher I still don't get your definition as to why he is a elitist for giving clearance to people who talks in a movie. BTW, he didn't even give clearance to those people, he just shift the blame to himself. That doesn't sound like someone who held elites above everyone else.

  • The Alamo Drafthouse is a private facility and its management has every right to create the rules that will be followed in that theater. However, there is a wide array of opinions on proper behavior in the movie theater. Personally, I think calling Jesse Eisenberg's response a "fail" is an inappropriate dismissal of the thoughtful opinion of an intelligent person.

  • @piecesofkate We're not saying Jesse's response is a "fail" - we're saying that we failed at getting the funny response that we like to put in front of our theater. This is in no way an attack on Jesse. He was a great sport and great interview!

  • i love that Jesse is always so sincere, n i think what he said was right cuz he does realize that the script and the actors make a movie interesting enough to ppl to be quite n all of his movies r great, i would never ask him for my money back, anyways i love his answers as always

  • Failed? Or provided a reasonable and unpretentious answer. Don't get me wrong, I hate those people who don't shut the fuck up as much as the next guy, but Eisenberg is saying is spot on: a film should be so good that people don't feel the need to distract themselves from watching it.

  • dweeb

  • Well this backfired didnt it!

  • This guy is a lot more punk rock than he looks! Kudos to Eisenberg for refusing to be a puppet for the Man. Hilarious and inspirational. Don't let the bastards grind you down! Attica! I'm texting this from a theater RIGHT NOW!!!

  • He says the most endearing things!

  • Why is there so much negativity here? He's just being Jesse. That's just who he is. Watch any of his other interviews. And it's not like he's saying anything offensive to anyone, and he's not even being 'elitest' or arrogant at all. He's such a self-effacing guy. And I always find myself enjoying what he has to say because he never takes himself too seriously. He just seems really lovely.

  • "They should probably ask me for their money back." - LOL

  • shutup nerd! grow some balls

  • @tjbmsp Jesse is a nerd who needs to grow some balls? I didn't know that, tell me more.

I'm pretty sure choosing to disagree and not comply with the draft house pushing a PSA on him is a sufficient representation of his balls.

  • @Kashish92 whoaaa the draft house? that puss bag will stand up to anyone huh? .. jesses a pretentious dick .. deal with it

  • @tjbmsp Lmao sure sure. Make fun of yourself = pretentious.

  • Comment removed

  • @tjbmsp And you are a douchebag who is jealous of Jesse... deal with it.

  • You didn't slip him twenty bucks beforehand.

  • Why does he keep avoiding the true purpose of this promo? He's only making himself look bad.

  • @w00tkid Because it's not like the alamo hired him to do a PSA for their establishment, he isn't required to promote their theater. It's the opposite, they were there to promote his movie. That's what you do in a junket. He doesn't care for the alamo's policy and he shouldn't have to either.

  • @Kashish92 Saying that the reason people talk during movies is because the movie can't hold their attention is a really stupid thing to say.

  • @w00tkid It's a very diplomatic response because he was blaming himself rather than other people.

  • Can we all finally agree that this douchebag is a douchebag and stop buying tickets to his movies? He'll never be more than the poor man's Michael Cera, so let's stop acting like he is. By the way...Michael Cera sucks, too.

  • @jlg395 damn you mad. No we cannot agree that he's a douche bag, because he is not. All he did is say he does not care if people talk in his movies, and that garners this much hate? I didn't realize movie viewing was such a bug deal goddamn. Clearly struck a huge nerve and this theater decided to disturb some shit because he doesn't agree with their policy. FYI, I like Michael Cera, but Jesse is an academy award nominated actor. I'm sorry you can't understand his movies. You're missing out!

  • Lol eat shit Alamo Drafthouse. I guess not everyone believes in your smarmy policy.

  • shortly after this video ended, the interview punched Jesse Eisenberg in the face

  • devils advocate

  • Mr. Eisenberg is a great actor, but I find that supporting people ruining the enjoyment of others is quite arrogant.

  • I love this man

  • Wow. Can we say elitist?

  • @SmashleyMasher How is it Elitist, I don't get it. He just said he personally does not mind if people talk in a movie, and he made a self deprecating joke about his own movie, it's quite the opposite of elitist in my opinion, he's coming down hard on his own profession not pushing it up.

  • @SmashleyMasher Wow. Can we look up the meaning of 'elitist' first before using it in a sentence?

  • I think it makes sense. If a movie cannot hold my attention, then I do something that actually interests me. It's why I rarely, if ever, watch movies in their entirety.

  • @enoonevoli Then at least don't take away the attention of people enjoying watching the movie.

  • @Nanaman12345 I never said that I did... It's the reason I never go to theatres anymore.. It would be a complete waste of my time.

  • Trying to be nice, ends up sounding like an idiot.

  • I don't fault people for not enjoying a movie. But they should be courteous enough to leave and not interrupt the the experience of someone who is enjoying the movie. Just because one person is bored does not give them the right to annoy the rest of the theater.

  • @Freebirth I agree fully. If they are bored with the movie then get out and get refunds. I don't think they should ruin movie for everyone else.

  • @Freebirth my thoughts exactly

  • He's just being diplomatic.

  • @42underscored He's just being Jesse.

  • "Oh, I'm awkward, please talk to distract me from how awkward I am.'
