1: Look closely and you can see that the rear wheel was off the ground.

2: The front end was completely destroyed by that crash. Even if he could back it up, he would have no control over direction and would not be able to get it back to the pits.

3: As the commentators noted, that corner is nearly flat-out. Chances are the crash was caused by something breaking in the first place. See above for why that's a problem.

In short: You are wrong. He could not drive away. Period.

That corner is just dangerous. If you have a failure, problem, or make an error coming down the hill, there is no run-off at all.
