Haha that ABS light. Check your tail light wiring if you haven't already had the ABS go off. Had mine on for a month and found out the tail lamps weren't grounded right. Grounded and fixed!

@redviper23kyle ABS light is on because the right front wheel speed sensor is ****ed. I disconnected the fuses that were related to the ABS system so it is disabled.

@fledgehog True boxer growl comes from unequal-length headers, something my stock exhaust lacks. If you haven't already, look up "Borla UEL" or "Borla unequal-length headers", you'll enjoy it.

Yours has more of a whine than mine. I have to get my timing belt done soon. I'm at 122K. Right when I rev I have a clicking sound. I got a new tranny put in and the exhaust didn't go back on right. I want it fixed now! lol

nice. I have to do my timing belt soon too. Might as well do the water pump as well. Im getting close to 200k. Im at 184 right now. I drove the thing to florida last week, and tore the rear transmission seal. Apparently the yolk of the driveshaft was rusted and just kept eating the seals. Plus i had a bad terrier bearing.

Got my timing belt done on Monday, so the EJ25D is ready for action up until about 200,000 miles on the odometer. Shame the EJ25 isn't as bulletproof as the EJ22.

Oh, and I hit up the dunes, videos of my Subaru stuck ensue.

You can swap an EJ22 no problem. Just drop it in place, everything plugs right in. The only mod u need to do is bend the power steering line with a pipe-bender. Any 96-99 Phase I EJ22 will do the trick.. You would be take a big power cut however.

@cj7135rocks If my Outback was a dedicated off-road rig, I would but as a daily driver, I like to have the top-end grunt of the EJ25D.

I've done lots of EJ22 swaps. And you're absolutely right, as a road-machine u want the extra power. If i had the facilities to change headgaskets, I would love the EJ25D. When you're renting a garage for 40$/hr tho, i only want to do it once =P

@SubaruXT6 Red tape was added in an attempt for me to not rev above 4000RPM but as you can tell, I seem to ignore it. However, it does help sometimes in keeping my driving more fuel efficient XD
