@fuckoverload G'day... Yeah, some of our Oral History & Folklore is pretty funny. It's a way of defusing the rancour of Oz being the 51st State of AmeriKa... And the 'Roos do, in fact, hop around in the Grass ; so it wasn't even a lie, technically speaking...(!). But it conjures a vision of the Texan going home to work on breeding a mob of 200 Pound Locusts, for the honour of the Lone Star! Have a good one, it's Cumulo Bassalt Eucalypti (fog), here, now !
@f417hGRACE G'day... Thanks for the comment, it IS fun to be friends with the Wildlife. I count it a priviledge that they don't treat me the way they treat the rest of the Human Race - when they hear the sound of a Vehicle which has shot at them before, they'll freeze on my lawn, look at each other, then at me, then they Flee the noise on the neighbour's driveway, 500 yds away & out of sight... So for them, just talking to me is a really HUGE gesture of Trust.
@JohnPaulPrime G'day... Um, the 'Roos don't do much Biting, they prefer to Grab & Hold while balancing on their Tail, and Kicking... Search 'Kung Fu Kangaroo Dundee' to see some of that. The Swamp Wallaby Bucks hold each other & Bite chunks out of each other's ears, & shoulders. Backscroll my vids to see an Alpha Male Swampy eating out of my hand. His ears are very ragged. You might want a strong Steel Cage to sit in, to feed them Bears ?
@pinkmoon831 G'day Pink ! Thanks for the Comment. Yeah, once the Marsupials decide it's a safe place & they can relax, they do Cuteness REALLY well. Particularly the Swamp Wallabies, they have a VERY Punk Rock hairstyle which just puts the Cherry atop the Encounter. Backscroll my Vids to see some of them. The one that Calls, Trains, and Disciplines me is extra good value. She actually sticks her head into the Hut ! The Joeys are Essence of Cuteness, too. Enjoy !
whenever someone asks me what my favorite animal is, I always say kangaroos. Do they bite? Unfortunately the only wildlife that comes looking for scraps around here are the bears. Especially on garbage day.
@vengencefrom1979 G'day... Yes, it'd be VERY Sad, particularly as whenever a Sheep escapes from the Farm, Australia kills the Sheep.... Worms, Flukes, Lice, Flystrike, or their uncut Wool tangles their hooves & inverts them for the Eagles to eat. Nobody EVER has a problem with Brumby Sheep, & Freerange Feral Merinos have never been heard of. So, when a CME crashes the Power Grid, & the unrefridgerated Drench & Dip dies of ambient Temperature, we'll see ?
@CantWeedThis G'day...! Great comment mate ! Very true, they are quite Dog-like. They use Gaze-Alternation, and Gaze- Following, as Dogs & Primates & Crows & Turtles do... So they aren't silly. But they do pull funny faces ! I didn't know Marsupials Chew their Cud, & first time I saw a Wallaby pumping it's elbows, & coughing, with it's nose straight up, I thought the Bread had killed it ! The 'Roos have a different gyration. Try 'Kung Fu Kangaroo Dundee' to see it.
@inmendham G'day... ! Well, thanks for the question. I reckon we'll go with the Fat Butt Deer theory. That's about what the first European Artists tried to paint them as... Longtailed Upright Deer. But there's a yarn that in WW2 someone tired of a Texan from "Back where everything is Bigger", so they pointed out the "Australian Grasshoppers" to him...(!). Um, I thought you'd have been long asleep by now..? The Sun must be over the Atlantic ! To sleep, perchance to dream ?
@RLink65 G'day, thanks for the boquet. The Wildlife pretty much keeps me calm & sane, if that makes sense. When there's no wind or rain they're lots less stand-offish. Also, in the mornings they seem bolder. If you're right into them, come & backscroll my vids, I have at least 4 playlists of Marsupials, plus Snakes & Birds. Even some Frogs that didn't go extinct. And for my Save The World project, search 'SunFoil'. It's DIY, but the Construction Clips are up.
@ProfessorCWI G'day mate... Thanks, though if you come and wander around on my scroll they come a lot closer when it isn't raining. Anything that raises the background noise makes them much more cautious... In this clip, you could see Kerrie wanted the bread but she couldn't make herself come to get it. She waved her whole body to express the conflict... Search 'Bird Versus Snake Fight Part 1', the birds keep me safe from the deadlies. It's cute. I'm their pet !
@SonofDust777 G'day... Well, thanks for that. Um. It depends on the Kangaroo, and how well it knows you. I've been feeding the Wild Wallabies for 20 Years, and one comes onto the Verhanda, pokes her head in the Door & calls me out to Feed her. The Grey 'Roos watched, for 18 years. Finally they decided I'm tame. Come to my scroll, sometimes they sniff the lens. Search 'Kung Fu Kangaroo Dundee'. When they fight they're dangerous. It's very real.

Wildlife at its finest. Doesn't get any better than that.

pretty neat! Are kangaroos friendly? Or is it better to keep your distance?
