Actually, once you have Spanish, it is really easy to learn Porteguese. They are so similar that a Spanish speaker and a Porteguese speaker could speak to each other in their own languages and understand one another. I'm am actualy a native English (American) speaker (african American) and I took Spanish calls at my last job. One caller spoke and I thought he was speaking Spanish with a bad drawl (Like a southern English accent). Then it hit me afterwards that he was speaking Porteguese.
