@WarrenCain i got one :)))) found it in a little music store in northern wisco. picked it up on sight, and its the coolest thing i've ever owned. but thats the kind of situation you gotta find to get one...like jackschvartz said. super rare.
Wow. I knew a guy 30 years ago, Berklee grad, who had one he'd drag out for solo gigs. Given how temperamental he said it was, it's hard to believe there's still one out there now in working order! My memory had it looking more like a 335, but that recollection may be suspect. Were they available in different body styles?
No sweat -- that thing is about as obscure as they come. But this inspired me to google "guitorgan," and there's a fair amount of info scattered here and there online, including Wiki.
And thanks for posting this (I was looking for recent Los Straitjackets stuff, so good job on the tag). I've got a few TdR tunes, but had never seen him; now I'll have to look for more vids.
The Guitorgan people generally put the gear in whatever kind of guitar body they could stuff it into, usually Japanese hollowbodies of the day. There are some that look like Mr. Del Rey's and some that look like 335's. It all depended on what kind of guitar body they could get hold of.
Yes that's a "guitorgan" it's a guitar that you form chords like a regular guitar and the sounds that comes out sounds like that. It sounds like a cross between a farfisa organ and a acordian.
@jackschvartz it actually has a ton of different sounds and presets. this sounds like the accordion setting. but its also got vibes, flute, church organ, marimba, and any other combination of buttons you can think of.

@redneck5896 : Actually, the guitarist named himself after the guitar. He's on Rough Trade Records and has a page on Myspace. Spells it "Del Rey".
