I Have This And Other Versions Of This Song . Including The One By Chester Leighton.( But Mine Is On A DIVA) I Love Boath . Very Neet To Find On You Tube. Thanks So Much For Posting.
I have the Harmony (Columbia) of this as Chester Leighton and his Sophomores, (Ben Selvin) vocalist might be Harold "Scrappy" Lambert. The vocalist on this is a very swingy and jazzy Frank Luther.
Another very scarce Victor from 1930. Great Record. All star Orchestra.
Lovely melody, esp. at the end. But I keep hearing "Buddy Can You Spare a Dime" from time to time. Deliberate? My imagination? Love M's spiky hair that first sppears ca. 00:53. She wore a Mohawk long before anyone else, whether it's a wig or a hat.
Maybe it's because Harry Warren wrote both melodies? I think "Buddy can you spare a dime" was in the movie "Gold Diggers of 1933", music by Harry Warren, lyrics by Al Dubin. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!
As a long-time 78 collector, I thought I had heard them all - but this is a new one for me and what a great number...
Being new to YouTube I am not getting much sleep !
Thanks for this !

This song would be well suited to a western swing adaptation, even a 'gypsy jazz' version.
Great melody!

Yes I have a passion for pre-War classic cars but have to enjoy them through friends. Out of my price range.

Hard to get sympathetic for his troubled love life with such an uplifting tune. He should lift his spirit by going to see a Dietrich movie.

Shows how versatile Joe Venuti was. Great shot of Dietrich with the Auburn Speedster.
