Sorry to crush your world, but there are objective standards here regarding symmetry. Consult any human population in the history of the world and you will get an overwhelming consensus that Raquel is attractive and Joplin is not. I realize of course there are people in the modern West who are so unhappy with themselves that, rather than admit their own flaws, they try to reject the objective standards of beauty, talent, truth to make themselves feel better.

@MrFarcry1966 Nothing wrong with finding Janis unattractive, but she had no obligation to be attractive, which is why criticising her for it just seems plain rude. She wasn't paid to possess good looks, nor was she ever praised for it. You wouldn't comment on Raquel's vids just to call her a talentless waste of space, so why do the equivalent to Janis? I would also argue that needlessly criticising her is a higher indicator of low self-esteem than the defense of Janis on the part of her fans is.

But your unhappiness with your own undesirability is your own problem. It does not require a restructuring of the categories of truth, beauty, talent. The harsh reality, which losers don't want to admit, is that some people are genetically gifted in one way or another (Joplin got musical chops that are far better than Raquel's, while Raquel is a stunner and Janis is homely). Too bad for you if you can't accept that, because it will rule the world you live in anyway.

Her mother was of British ancestry dating back to the Mayflower & her father was a Bolivian of Spanish ancestry. In other words, Raquel is European white. The Mexicans in Arizona who are at risk of being singled out & deported are the mestizos. If she would have been in Arizona, she would have blended in and nobody would have thought of stopping her for anything other than a date.

It must be painful to be that physically repulsive. One understands why she was so emotionally fragile and wound up killing herself, poor gal. A lot of ugly people in the '60s probably had similar experiences--however much the hippie vibe tried to be 'love for all,' the human reality is always more exclusive and elitist than that, and inevitably the ones who got the most love were the beautiful people. That much hasn't changed.
