absolutley, positively, undoubtably THE best ice dance couple ever.. no one will ever match T & D.. they must be so proud of themselves, I certainly am! :P
We just don't see routines like these days, ones packed with highlights. Just count the number of different sets of applause. Which by the end becomes continuous.
At 2:38 Chris' jacket unfastens. This could have been a serious problem in that Jayne’s blades could have become caught in a lift or it could have prevented Chris from getting hold of Jayne. Also I read that because the audio feed for TV is on a different output to the stadium, from about 3:15 Jayne and Chris cannot hear the music due to the applause. They skate the next 20 seconds or so purely on timing from their hours of practice. Amazing!!
it was a famous ice dancer who used to design their costumes and jayne said somewere that because shes only 5.2 an chris is around 6.0 that she had to work for hours to try and match his stride across the ice lol
It's particularly amazing to me about how 'in step' they always were, considering the difference in their heights. Their legs aren't even close to being the same length, yet they were always so in sync with each other. I really can't fathom the dedication and work it took to do that.
There are just too many words to describe Torville and Dean, perfection, graceful, flawless, brilliant, etc, to see two people skate as one for so long will never happen again.
Flipping heck! Best ice dancing in the world and you're stuck on the colour of their costumes, lol. Don't forget this was the 1980s and there's nothing wrong with gold. Fab clip, thanks for posting pishposh.
Damn, they skate fast! They have no equal as far as I'm concerned.

Thank God their performances have been preserved for posterity - no one can match their technique or creativity

Really great but whoever picked the color material for the costumes was colorblind! Still gives me goosebumps to watch this.
