What kind of friend is Kurt Russell? The f'n guy pulls his gun on his boy... now, he only pointed it in his face (reason enough still, but...) you can't know that. You gotta assume he's bout to shoot your friend in the face! F'n pull the trigger and blow Ringo's legs off! You don't let the guy draw on your friend.

@JohnLeeMD It's only a movie. Still, in real life you'd have to gauge the outcome of your actions. If he shoots Ringo, he has to go for his own gun afterwards, and Ringo would be down but still have time to shoot some more before he bled out. There are also the rest of Ringo's boys there too and it would not end well for anyone. By exercising calm, the situation was defused without a shot fired. Violence has a time and a place. A bar with so many people is neither. Both of them knew that.

Granted, this movie was entertaining, Val Kilmer was outstanding. But this is such a bullshit portrayal (or should I say betrayal) of history! All evidence points to Ike Clanton or even his elderly father "Old Man" Clanton as being the head of the Cowboys and there is little evidence to support the notion that Johnny Ringo or Curly Bill were anymore than loosers and side kicks. I scarcely doubt that Holliday, or especially Ringo were as proficient in Latin or as educated as you see here either.

Doc: im sure of it, i hate him. Wyatt: Hes drunk. Doc: in wine you find truth. (not expecting a response, he reiterates the insult that he hates him.)

Ringo; I can see you do what you do best, (insulting him for being a drunk.)

I agree! I can not for the life of me understand why Val did not get an Oscar for this performance. This is my favorite western because of his performance in this movie as Doc Holliday & this is my favorite scene of all time!

'Requiescat in pace.' = 'Rest in peace,' more or less.

The reordering of the saying makes 'It's your funeral' a more accurate translation, as far as I can tell.
