  • do you know about a movie called Wreck-It Ralph it has cameo appearances from a number of video game characters and are you going to review The Wizard and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (not the game, the movie) you don't have to do it if you don't want to ok

    just saying

  • u suck i love the movie

  • @alanmartin42 Your grammar sucks. I don't much care for this movie.

  • Look through the other window and you will see characters from Nintendo history ^_^

  • Did you get your ideas by watching the Nostalgia Critic? If you ever seen him review moives?

  • @sherlockzorro101 I know not of this Nostalgia Critic. Is that some kind of soft drink?

  • @DJilneige: No, it not a soft drink. It the guy with the glasses the review moive. If you type in Nostalgia Critic on Youtube, you'll see what I mean.

  • @sherlockzorro101 Hmm,,,this sounds like a trap to me.

  • @DJilneige: It's not, the Nostalgia Critic is really funny. Just try and see what you think of his reviews.

  • @DJilneige Its a guy on blip.tv who reviews movies that suck dick.

  • @Gligar13Vids Now that just sounds made up.

  • @DJilneige No, it is real, really:

    /watch?v=C5FhsA1RlGg

  • awesome bamf.

  • have u seen legend of zelda the sage of darkness? it's fan made but i think it's a good fan made movie.

  • @aeon3valefore I was in Sage of Darkness.

  • that actually happened to me before to. first time my friends played ocarina of time i tell the important things and where to go. and u know what he does. runs around, looks at stuff, talks to people and go greedy with rupees and spend them all. and does it all over again. he completely forgot where kakoriko village is even thoe i explained him 20 TIMES!

  • Looks like he made this in his dorm common room.

  • O NO HES IN THE LOST WOODS NO ONES EVER MADE IT OUT OF THE LOST W—o look he made it out of the lost woods.

  • the salesman was the best character in the movie =D

  • make a reviw about fast five

  • ur awsome djineige

  • the kristoff of USA

  • mother and son..... the lo0st woods, WTF?

  • hahahaha I know I'm almost a year late, but this is brilliant!

  • @DJilnge I agree with you there but I always laugh at awkward parts and there were a lot in this movie so I thought it was really good so ya. Um hey can u send me the sage of shadow link cuz I'm dying to see it!

  • ....Irregardless of the medieval theme of the Legend of Zelda, I feel like the fake BritScottRish (British/Scottish/Irish) Accents are a stretch.

  • I actually saw the whole movie before I watched this and it was a little off but it was still a great movie

  • @souleaterXlinklover It's certainly admirable that they took the time to put an entire movie together. They just needed a better script and a better eye behind the camera.

  • @DJilneige i agree with you there. also i laugh at very awkward and stupid moments because it seem funny to me. also it was pretty good and...... EXCUSE ME RINCESS! sorry i just like saying that lol...

  • @DJilneige you think Ocarina could be done in hand drawn animation?(Don bluth type)

  • @robertreturns I actually don't think Ocarina would work well as a movie at all. Too much of what makes the game fun and memorable would have to be cut for time. I really feel that Sage of Darkness and Triforce Prophecy took the right approach by trying to create their own storylines within the Zelda universe.

  • I'll didn't like the part the saria was link's Forster mum D:

  • @triforcelink1000 I know right!?!?! At first I was like "did link's mom survive?!?" but then all hell broke lose and saria was calling him "son" I mean I get the artistic license but come on! he was spot on with some zelda cameos and then took big twists that had no purpose! sorry, the movie just aggrivates me

  • look at the anime you bunghole

  • I'm sure that if there was a great director with LOTS of money who wanted to make a Zelda movie, I'm sure it would be great, as long as that director uses the money for above average or really good computer/sound effects, green screen, etc. Plus making the game as cinematic as possible. Then I'm sure it would be really good.

  • @WafflesFromHeaven there's no doubt in my mind that someone out there could pull it off, but from what I've heard, Nintendo doesn't want to hand over the rights at the risk of it turning into another crappy video game movie, ala Super Mario Bros.

  • @DJilneige give them a little break man it was ok. but you do have a point

  • @DJilneige SMB was probably one of the worst. I still wish they made a sequel.

  • you'd think if they went to such great lengths to make a fan-movie it would at least try to follow the story, i mean, saria's his mother? wtf is that about?!? kinda creepy....

  • For the record, the only good video game movie I've ever seen would be Prince of Persia.

  • i think Link is taller than the guards

  • LOL i wish they could actually make a GOOD LoZ movie

  • @sickonedude Well, although it isn't perfect, Sage of Darkness is pretty good. It's worth checking out if you haven't seen it yet. At the very least, the story very compelling.

  • @finrodbrs wow i have never heard of that one, i will have to check it out!

  • @sickonedude Hope you enjoy it. You can actually find it one youtube. Just type in, "Legned of Zelda Sage of Darkness."

  • @finrodbrs wow I really did enjoy it. I like how they actually made their own story instead of just making a crappy adaptation of ocarina of time. plus it was great to see plenty of references from the original game from '86 or '87 or whenever it first came out. thank you so much for recommending it. another thing I really liked is that they didn't bluescreen the whole thing, but just worked with what they had and it ended up looking very natural after i got used to it

  • I think they should just come out with a badass CGI Legend of Zelda film.

  • @MusicOfIncontinence I think Jack Curran is already on that one

  • wtf -_-

  • anyone else notice this movie looks like it was made as a fan film but startrek hidden frontier did better.

  • @sixwingproductions this IS a fanfilm

  • To be honest, I'm cool with Link being an adult at the start. It'd be kinda disturbing to see an 11-year old going through all the fighting.

  • Dude! Nice review. you remind me of the nostalgia critic. but thats aweosme still! We need more nostalgia critics!

  • @lordweldon thanks for replying! :]

  • @lordweldon I honestly have nothing more to say, you are obviously a far more superior being, than I.

  • @lordweldon Haha ridiculous?! I'm a 21 year old male full of testosterone, and me posting a comment about intercourse with a good looking, older woman does not fall into that category. As far as "not needed" goes, who are you to say what is and what isn't needed? While my comment may have been a little distasteful because I said "bone" as a reference to coitus, at least it actually had something to do with the video. Your comment is completely irrelevant to the video and is just simply trolling.

  • I thought it was awesome and link is so cute here .Love the storyline, don't care about the game comparison, love how the effects turned out ,and all you poo poo-hers...no studio wants to do this so cudos to you guys for doing this film.Legend of Zelda rocks.PS if you torrent it play it with VLC and it plays fine for you and don't forget to seed back.

  • @claudiatannahill plenty of studios want to make a Zelda movie. It's Nintendo are the ones stopping anyone from actually doing it.

  • @DJilneige Gamecube was the last Zelda (twielight princess)I have gotten and Nintendo starts to suck with the 3D Dsi and wii games ,I rather not support this money grabbing company anymore.Get with the future nintendo or you will become obsolete ,and thanks for reviewing this so I know its out there (you made me notice it and I loved watching it)

  • @DJilneige Very true. Nintendo allowed this to be downloaded only for a couple months then told them to pull it off. I can see why Nintendo does not want Zelda movies. If I were a company, I would not want my franchise to be butchered. This film did an amazing job.

  • ummmmm...... wow....

  • is this a review or a sarcastic retelling of the movie.

  • The Hero of Time is definitely the best adaption of Ocarina of Time. Others try Legend of Zelda in general, but none of them have the balls to try a specific game.

I think people should get off their high hoarse and just accept that they couldn't do this. I'd LOVE to see people try to make a better movie, or at least write a better script.

  • @Rifalltoo Isn't it the only adaptation of Ocarina of Time? On that note, a direct adaptation of a specific game comes as more of a weakness in my opinion. The fact that the audience already knows what's going to happen/how it's going to happen makes it difficult to create any suspense.

If you're looking for a better script, might I recommend "The Sage of Darkness."

  • Well this isn't the first movie that filmmakers assumed their veiwers had veiwed what the fim was based off of (such as read the book or played the game). So I'm not really surprised.

  • @hylianelf07 Oh, don't get me wrong, I think Sage of Darkness is the better movie, but I appreciate both films because they show what works and what doesn't with regards to a feature length film.

  • @hylianelf07 I think they know plenty, they just weren't able to make a good movie out of what they know.

  • You forgot to mention that Link is also famous for not talking, as well as being somewhat shy.

Not only does this"Link" not shut up but he looks nothing like the real Link. Where are the big beautiful eyes? The muscular build? I think they confused a forest elf with one of santa's elves in this movie.

That guy got the roll because he had the right friends, typical showbiz bullshit.

Ocarina of Time has extremely deep themes to it and these guys basically made a big joke out of the game

  • @HelsinkiSmashRod Link has always talked. He's never been given dialogue, but other characters have responded to things he has said. Besides, you can't really have a movie with a silent protagonist.

  • @DJilneige Yeah, you're kinda right but I personally like the thought of Link being very quiet and nodding his head to questions or only giving really short answers.

In this movie it seemed "Link" was a blabber mouth if you know what I mean; I think most people would think of Link's character as a quiet guy/ a man of action so to speak. But yeah he has to talk a little.

OH AND HEY WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MY COMMENT ON THE WAY THE "LINK" IN THIS MOVIE LOOKS? Please address the entire issue

  • it's really a shame that BMB and Titus (now karpos) couldn't work together on this. each movie was good in different ways and they each had the elements the other was missing. SoD got the plot, character development and any remote talent in acting and HoT got the musical score, CGIs and costumes. if they had combined those movies, it would have been THEE most epic zelda movie ever.

  • @moonprincess1995 that's exactly what I thought.

  • Nostalgia Critic rip off.

  • the hero of time didn't receive praise anywhere.. it was absolutely ripped in everywhere. it's one of the worst productions, even for fan made. it was absolutely laughable...i seriously hope the filmmakers intent was parody.

so yes, thank you for pointing out a few of the incredible number of issues

  • Will you ever do a review of, The Legend of Zelda: The Triforce Prophecy?

  • @Reclaimer1547 Probably not. I watched some of it and, to be honest, there wasn't anything there that impressed me. It doesn't have the budget of Hero of Time or the compelling story of Sage of Darkness and I don't really like the idea of reviewing an independent film just so I can tear it a new one.

  • @DJilneige That is probably for the best! But im not going to lie, your reviews are hilarious! I like that your honest, but you also look at the film's positive aspects. Hopefully one day someone will get The Legend of Zelda right...

  • @DJilneige That is probably for the best. However im not gonna lie, your reviews are hilarious! I love how your honest, yet you still look at the film's positive aspect (despite how few there may be). Hopefully one day someone will get the Legend of Zelda right...

  • I HAVE THAT SHIRT

  • Where Did You Get The Movie Footage If The Movie Was Taken Offline?

  • @KirbyForce1 warez-bb(dot)org

  • I'd totally bone the "mom" they got to play Impa xD

  • at least they got ganondorf's nose right =p

  • p.s if I remaber it was made on 1998? right

  • All commant are long excaped NSWproduction and is the legend of zelda ocrian of time [short the legend of zelda oot]

  • I think this movie was made for fans, not the general public. In which case they don't need to elaborate the story or what's happening at the moment. Also their accents are Hyrulian & not the fake English accents that some might presume. ;)

  • @jordonisawesome My major beef with the explanations (or lack thereof) is that things are never explained in a way that the characters will understand. Sure, the fans know what the Ocarina is for, but it's never mentioned in the movie so it makes no sense why Link would know how to use it. The same goes for the Deku Tree's death: if they leave out the reason for the tree's death (ie Ganandorf), then why keep it in?

  • 4:49 - i think that's a general problem with adapting this chapter in the series. you cannot make the videogame ganondorf look good. even in the ign trailer, he looks fucking stupid (though is very well acted).

this is why i have no idea why they don't just do Link to the Past instead, which would be easier to do and probably much more dramatic if they adapt the key moments.

  • Okay, I just noticed you did a review for Sage of Darkness and I listened to your speech at the end of it about how you credit both films greatly for trying to make a zelda movie, and you use this NC style for all your reviews.

Sorry about my previous comments, I'm a complete dumbass XD.

  • @Aizen9 Yeah, there may be things about HOT that I think SOD does better, but it's really kind of a two way street; SOD may have had a good story, but HOT had a bigger budget, making it easier to take seriously at face value.

You don't have to call yourself a dumbass. I knew I was walking a fine line when I decided to review SOD and I was expecting some negative feedback.

  • @Aizen9 Also, just a disclaimer. By no means am I a key part of Karpos pictures. My involvement with SOD was restricted to a single day of filming. Other than that, I'm really just some guy who knows Dan and Josh and these reviews were of my own initiative and based on my own observations. I actually didn't know that Dixon had posted a review of HOT...anyway, i'm sick of being serious. FALAFEL!!!

  • You may not have liked the film, but as fellow fan film makers working in the same medium trying to make films with little budget, show some more respect.

Is there a hint of Jealousy in this? Bashing the film because in your eyes its inferior to the Sage of Darkness yet got far more views than your movie?

I hate mentioning Jealousy as a reason for things like this as normally that's never true, but I don't know I'm getting a weird feeling from the way you and Dan act towards this movie.

  • I love the Sage of Darkness, and maybe I have the wrong end of the stick here, but it seems since The Hero of Time came out you guys have tried to snub the movie in everyway you can, first of all Josh's written review seemed overly negative, Dan Hogan's very small comment in the video update about the Sage of Darkness sequal may have been a small jab but it stuck out like a sore thumb as very snobby, and now we have your review/nostalgia critic impression videos trying to sound overly harsh.

  • nice review, reminds me of the Nostalgia Critic

  • Yeah you uploaded the new one. and is about zelda, and is funny, and im using the word "and" a lot, xD, just keep doing this videos they are EXTREMEly funny

  • HEY! Jemaine is adorable XP

  • @AshKetchyum Oh, don't get me wrong, I love Jemaine. I just used him because he and the actor playing Ganandorf kinda have the same big teeth thing going.
