it;s not "spread out" or 4:3 stretched. When you emulate the game in a computer it can render at 16:9 and actually show more info than the original game.
its actually not stretched out, the game is technically running in 16x9 mode, but it was not designed to do that. If you guys notice the sandstorm filter in the Gerudo Desert, it only occupies the 4x3 section of the screen if you running it in 16x9 mode.
this is widescreen because look at circles like the moon and the action buttons, if they are oval then this is simply stretched, otherwise it's all good :)
Hmm... There seams to be a graphical Glitch with Death Mountain, other then that it looks awesome. Why couldn't Nintendo do something like this to old N64 games on the Virtual Console? this proves it's Possible, AND Looks good...
0_0!! Look at the far right side of the screen! While the other static sceneries are merely stretched in widescreen (in the market they just show more), you can actually see the Potion Shop from here! WOW, this is just amazing! Here's something of OoT, which I know through and through, that I've never seen! Just...WOW!!

@linkmenx Then, how do you get to be that way? I think you are using JABO Direct3D8 1.6, not 1.7.0.55.

@ferrybeer - they can't be bothered spending the money to do it.

They wanted to keep OoT the same, yet they censored the Fire Temple music and the star/crescent symbol. This is why I refuse to play it on the VC.

@MJacksonLive Do those two details make the game unplayable?

But that isn't widescreen, it's just the 4:3 image spread out

I know it was a long time ago, but could you explain to me what you mean by "it's spread out"?

Zelda OoT + Hi-Res textures + Widescreen = A truely awsome game! But how can you get widescreen like that working?
ScienceOfThePS3 3 years ago
Go to Graphics plugin settings and disable "Hide Advanced settings", then go to advanced settings and click "adjust game aspect ratio to match yours"
MGSRAIDENfuckyouup 3 years ago
In Rice's plugin? I didn't see an option like that.
ScienceOfThePS3 3 years ago
Oh I'm not using Rice's plugin
MGSRAIDENfuckyouup 3 years ago
Yeah, Rice's plugin is the one that has the hi-res textures function in it, but Jabo's plugin has the widescreen function.
ScienceOfThePS3 3 years ago
so then it is impossible for high res textures + Widescreen?

At least at this point.

"it's a feature in the unreleased version of project 64 (1.7)"
I think that he meant for the areas usually not visible. Pj1.7 stretches it by default.

Now it takes up the entire player if you put &fmt=18 at the end of the url. Pretty cool.
