  • @persevere4 good, ha,ha.

  • thank you for upload

  • @persevere4 You are very welcome! Thanks!

  • Yea The Kinks!! They really have their fingertips on whats going down!

And thanks for the absolutely fantastic creative Clip Rhorto 01

  • @MrGoran00 Thank you for the kind words. I never appreciated how difficult it was to do a nice one of these until I did this one. Its really cool other people enjoy it as well.

  • So true for the 21st century too. "born in a welfare state....lost my liberty."

  • great work!

  • I love this! Rhorto, both your friend (so sorry for your loss) and the Kinks would be honored. Amazing job with the pictures. They make the song even more powerful than it is... if that's possible.

  • @MsLithium21 Well it would certainly make my day (year? life?) were Mr. Davies to drop by and say "Hey, I really liked what you did there." I won't be holding my breath. lol

Thank you for the kinds words! They are very appreciated.

  • Is the image of Vonnegut implying that he's a bad 20th century writer? I hope not.

  • @H3rmanSmith Remember: Think irony. :-)

  • We should throw out everything what was invented in 20 century (and 21) and get back to the Middle age. It´s that or we´re all gonna die, imagine if all Chinese want to be like Americans. We´re gonna die...

  • That bridge - "I was born in a welfare state..." - is just incredible. Unexpected and thrilling. Nobody does it like the Kinks.

  • This song so reminds me of me.

  • Don't want to get shot myself shot down by some trigger happy peace nut :)

  • Man. Ray channels american culture really well. He was so English, but no one spoke truer about both countries.

  • Great job with the pics - very appropriate - just like this song is so damned appropriate whether you are in 1970 or 2010.

  • I need to find this version of the song. Is it from the original album or a newer one?

  • Yes, this is off the album "Muswell HIllbillies" (An album everyone should own IMO)

  • @robotbeez hocu moj kokain!!!

  • One of my top 25 favorite songs of all time. As timely when it was penned as it is today.

    Fuck the leaders.

  • CAPITAL TOUR. such a great song

  • This to me is the anthem of our day.

  • Awesome song & video !!!! love the Kinks !!!!

  • Great job on the video! This is one of my favorite songs too.

  • Dear rhorto01, Very, very nice job!

And I appreciate your replies to the comments.

    What a great song! Thanks.

  • Thanks for the kind words.

I actually put this together for a colleague who was battling cancer and has since passed away. Keeping up on this keeps me connected to her in a small way. She loved this song.

  • the music and lyrics still standing.

  • I really appreciate the lyrics, makes a great song greater for me. But I swear he's saying that he doesn't want to get shot by a trigger-happy "peace man". "Peace officer" is another name for a "policeman". Wouldn't that sound more like Ray even if it weren't true? It would appeal to his sense of irony.

  • Whatever he's saying he's mumbling it. I've looked online for the lyric and couldn't find a version that said "peace man".

  • @MonstrousWalker I see what you mean but he's saying it kind of fast. Even though it sounds like he might be saying peaceman, I'm pretty sure he's saying, "policeman" not "peace man".

  • great video for a great song. my only problem with this is now we're in the 21st century. it's kind of like the 1984. Orwell, Bowie, Spirit etc. i'd love to hear the Kinks re-record this with 21st century in lieu of 20th century but i guess that's kind of silly...wish Ray was coming closer to syracuse. poghkeepsie and burlington are still over 200 miles away and dec. is a tough time to travel in upstate NY GOD SAVE THE KINKSA

  • Quite possibly the greatest song of all time from the greatest album of all time but definitley by the greatest band of all time.

God save the Kinks! Frank Lima aka Dan the Fan the Montvale, New Jersey Hillbilly Boy!

  • well done with the images!!

  • nice video to a classic song...has anyone heard Soap Opera lately? For someone who never had a 9 to 5 working stiff job, Ray was quite astute and funny...

    Greg from SF Bay Area

  • Yo man, love the images love dat song!!

  • I'm 21st century. Kinks music is for all times.

  • creo q la letra de esta cancion es 1000 veces mejor q cualkera q hayan podido crear otros grupos.

  • I agree. Ray's lyrics are almost always fantastic compared to most others.

  • I prefer Iggy and especially the Stooges over Ramones for punk anyday.Yeah, yeah, the Stooges were before punk, but that's because it wasn't trendy yet.

  • cool video - great pix

  • Great video! I would make one recommendation though. Get rid of The Ramones and substitute Elvis Presley.

  • I thought about it, but I thought it would be too easy to go from Elvis to the Beatles. So I have the Rat Pack for the 1950's, the Beatles for the 1960's, and the Ramones for the 1970's. I considered using a glam-ed out Elton John for the 70's...but I liked the gritter Ramones.

  • Good call.

  • and??

  • I like the cannabis glasses.
