A lot of people point to this game as an example of Venables being a good coordinator but the truth is he can only manhandle inferior offensive lines. His blitzes were completely ineffective against LSU, USC, Boise State, and West Virginia. He may have had his best game holding Tebow and Harvin to 24 points, even though we lost. I'm sorry folks, I've tried to toe the company line for so long but Venables needs to go.

See, its comments like "Daniel is a cry baby!!" that make me say he takes a lot of heat. He's not a crybaby. But either way, football is an emotional game and you can get upset or in the faces of your teammates because it could be completely necessary at a certain point in a game. In fact, if someone didnt show a little emotion after an upsetting loss, I would question them, especially as the leader of that team.
Missouri's defense actually improved statistically every game last year. Maybe not once they played Oklahoma. But Oklahoma had a really good defense. Mizzou's may not be as good as theirs yet, but theyre returning quite a few starters on that side of the ball including William Moore and Sean Weatherspoon who, if I'm not mistaken, are 1st Team all Big 12.
I haven't really listened to Chase Daniel speak-I just based my opinion on what I have seen on the field-MU will have to get over that "mental hump" to beat OU & that mental part of the game is what keeps a lot of underdog teams from going to a higher level-it also reinforces the "premier" programs b/c they don't have to conquer that mental part so much-confidence is key-maybe that is what Ch.Daniel is trying to do-be confident going into this season-but it may border on cocky-it's a fine line

See, its comments like "Daniel is a cry baby!!" that make me say he takes a lot of heat. He's not a crybaby. But either way, football is an emotional game and you can get upset or in the faces of your teammates because it could be completely necessary at a certain point in a game. In fact, if someone didnt show a little emotion after an upsetting loss, I would question them, especially as the leader of that team.

Missouri's defense actually improved statistically every game last year. Maybe not once they played Oklahoma. But Oklahoma had a really good defense. Mizzou's may not be as good as theirs yet, but theyre returning quite a few starters on that side of the ball including William Moore and Sean Weatherspoon who, if I'm not mistaken, are 1st Team all Big 12.

I haven't really listened to Chase Daniel speak-I just based my opinion on what I have seen on the field-MU will have to get over that "mental hump" to beat OU & that mental part of the game is what keeps a lot of underdog teams from going to a higher level-it also reinforces the "premier" programs b/c they don't have to conquer that mental part so much-confidence is key-maybe that is what Ch.Daniel is trying to do-be confident going into this season-but it may border on cocky-it's a fine line

Poor Chase Daniel sure takes a lotta heat. I find that most people either hate him or love him. Hes a good QB regardless. In this game, though, the losing quarterback. OU was an extremely good team in '07 & it was obvious that MU couldnt overcome the class of the conference just yet. But whether or not OU fans like it, MU had a great year. And whether or not MU fans like it, Oklahoma beat them (2x). Its just unfortunate that OU wasted all of their good play in this game rather than the bowl game

I am not a Sooner or Tiger fan, but I always root for the underdog. I say Missouri is the team to beat in the Big 12 this year and if they play OU in another championship, the Tigers will be a force to be reckoned with. I just think Missouri will be the better team this year & OU fans don't need to get the big head b/c it may very likely backfire. Pride cometh before the fall.

youve gotta be kidding me,OU won a national title in 2000. They have won countless big games,just have not played that well in the past 3 BCS games. 2002 they won the rose bowl also. Dont count stoops out.if youre going to make these assumptions then you have to say the same thing about Mack Brown who took a long time to win a title at TEXAS, a national powerhouse. You could also throw Jim Tressel in that mix. He has won a national title but has not done well the past 2 years.still great coaches
