Have you not been paying attention to this video? The PIRA during the troubles was a guerilla unit, the rules of engagement (especially on UK soil) were very strict. Guerilla warfare is not difficult. (Although the Taliban seem to have trouble grasping it).

Have you not been paying attention to this video? The PIRA during the troubles was a guerilla unit, the rules of engagement (especially on UK soil) were very strict. Guerilla warfare is not difficult. (Although the Taliban seem to have trouble grasping it).
The Irish war of independance was a bit fairer in that respect. And then the British Army had under half the casualties of the IRA, whilst being heavily outnumbered.

the sas are not the best at what they do, the sbs has a more successfull history than any other special forces unit in the world it was they who took back south georgia the kuwait embassy the the cables for the scud launchers etc etc (the sas were still running around in land rovers 1942 style) the sbs flew in by chopper to within 30 miles of baghdad and blew the road up and then brought the cable back to be examined something the sas never managed

The SAS should not be used on home territory. The Iranian situation was technically on Iranian soil, but using them in Northern Ireland is ethically wrong. It removed a lot of goodwill they had attained.
