My answer was for someone who told that billly gibbons couldnt make the difference between a les paul and a SG. I know that the les paul production stopped in 1960 and then the model that now we all know as the SG briefly was named the les paul.

It was not until 68 when they restarted making the traditional les paul again the they changed the thinner dual cutaway version name to SG.
