There aren't enough available axis' to be able to use the NIA for a look device.
Maybe if a NIA2 was in production it would have a chance, but definitely not with this model.
I'm sure you could map it to work as your mouse INSTEAD of the keyboard, but that would make it 1000X more difficult to aim. You'd be more accurate using a keyboard to aim.
It is easier to stick with a keyboard, but the beauty of a device like this is if it's trained properly, you have a better reaction time because you don't have to tell another part of your body to actually do anything. While it's a very tiny difference in reaction time, for competitive play, that tiny difference is all you need to edge out a worthy opponent.
OK if all you have to do to fix the problem is touching the box then simply get a $5 grounding wrist strap that you would use when building a computer and clip it to the box or something metal... problem solved
to fix the NIA interference issues purchase and setup the these - Tesla EMR / EMF Set - zero out your NIA equipment by patching all other sources of EM/radio emissions within a 6 foot radius and youll get high calibration numbers everytime
That's Quite normal, and smart actually. people sign others they hate up for all kinda of stuff thats just plain mean. i may have the nia thing under control. I'll report back when I have my own idea of makin it work good, thanks for yours ^_^
i have a defective headband, or the thing would have worked after I unplugged everything in my room except for the 2 17inch CRT (fat) monitors, tower, DSL Box, and boring Router. Heck, it'd probably work if i do those tricks with aluminum foil and electrical tape. BUT my mom would KILL ME VERBALLY. well, I'd wish I was Deaf anyways :P
I think she values all types of tape imho.........creepy
The best way I found to correct that problem is to just hold the NIA box in my hand while playing. It grounds everything. I thought mine was defective at first too until I browsed the OCZ help forums. It's all caused by EMI in the room. Mine has a LOT of EMI, but grounding with my hand worked fine.
Also, I don't want to sound like a jerk or anything, but I won't give out my email address or anything to chat in real time to anyone except friends that live near me or I've known personally.
I'm very interested to know how you've managed to keep a good line of alpha/beta etc waves on the NIA, with ALL OF THAT stuff around you in such a close proximity. If you want to talk I'm also a user of NIA since yesterday when I was waiting every miute of the day for UPS to show up. I'd like to chat with you about it so please leave me a comment so we can chat sometime. The video's are a good introduction of yourself, keep it up ^_^
I never got used to the brain waves section. I ended up giving the NIA away because I was too focused on trying to get good using a mouse/keyboard combo. To me, the NIA was a novelty. To people that actually have the time, like pro gamers, it can become an asset. The muscle controls are much easier to get used to. Can be done in weeks. Brainwave control on the other hand would take months of practice. I don't have the patience or the time.
I have the time and the will to be as good as what I've seen thus far. I'm one track minded when it comes to something I Truely want. Plus... I have a spinal disorder medications have a hard time keeping under control, and nia was the first thing I've come across that works perfectly with my mind and body. any chance we could chat in real-time? I'd like very much to get any odd tips or anything you've encountered along the way.
The basic movements take about a month to 'master'. The "Glance" function on the other hand, that takes longer to get used to. You have to be really hard core into gaming to want to pick one up. Or at least clock a lot of time that you can use to practice and not get frustrated when you die so often.:P When you get the hang of it, you'll have a huge edge over opponents. Learning it isn't difficult, it's just time consuming.
nothing really happens. If you get really angry, it's slightly messed with your facial twitches so it's a little harder to control, but nothing horrible.
im notta gonna letta no 'puter read mah mind!

@therealgrogster
There are some easy apps on NIA forums that make it possible to aim with your braaains, but yea, they are sub-par when compared to mouse.

It does work. You only need to train yourself how to.

Or get any piece of wire and some tape that's probably lying around any house or garage for free.

sakkurae 3 years ago
Unreal Tournament 3. It's pretty, but it's not as fun as UT2K4 or even the original Unreal Tournament.

how long will it take to have full control of it, while at least how to handle it?
I'm hesitating to buy one too
