What is the orchestra and who was producer of this great song? Not only was it sung beautifully, the orchestration in it is unmatchable. Jackie may have been one of the greatest performers of all time. Never to be forgotten.
@1400deadwood Orchestra by Dick Jacobs who did most of the arrangements and productions for Jackie's recordings...with some exceptions until 1966. Jacobs was one of the top arranger/conductor's for Decca and it's related companies and worked with artists such as: The Ames Bros. Steve Lawrence, MacGuire Sisters, Buddy Holly, Teresa Brewer and so many more. He was one of the few supporters of Rock & Roll in it's early phase when it was not "fashionable" with the major record labels.
@PutOnASweater - Thank you for the information - indeed, Mr Jacobs did a masterful job on this wonderful song. Merry Christmas & God bless you & yours ...
Wow! This man could sing the alphabet and it would be the greatest music ever heard...Bravo!!!! Thanks for posting this. It's wonderful to hear this music again. Face it, folks...They just don't make 'em like this, anymore!
With all of the so-called docu-drama movies (Ray, La-Bamba, Lyman, Dream Girls, etc) they've made over the past twenty-five years, I fail to understand why a movie has yet to be to be made with an unbelieveable story, about an unbelieveable talent, with an unbelieveable voice, wrapped up in an unbelieveable tradgedy no screen write could ever devise. WHY NOT? For all the money Gordy made off of Wilson, HE (alone) should do it. Or maybe Nate Tarnabaums family? RIP great one!
Amazing and awesome! Jackie's range of performances is astounding. He really was comfortable and capable in any genre of music. I agree with baldyholly79...the power of Mario Lanza and the subtlety of Sam Cooke. A marvelous post.
Jackies vocal control is simply sublime, wow, what a delivery. He has the vocal power of Mario lanza and yet the subtlety of Sam Cooke, what a combination, sends shivers down the spine!!!!!
Another one of my all time favorites. This man could do no wrong. I could listen to him all night and still not tire of his voice. What a gift he had. Thanks for the post.

Could someone please post " The Tear of the Year" by Jackie? This was the B side to this record but was a gem in its own right.

Mr. Jackie Wilson remains to be, for me-
The Best Vocalist, in my/our Lifetime.
Please listen to this Operatic Wonderful
Love Ballad, then remember this is "the
Man" who also sang- Lonely Teardrops,
Higher & Higher, Baby Workout and so on,
as well as Pop, Blues and The Standards,
Now That is Somethin' Else. He remains
to be "The Best of The Best'. RIP, Always!
Best- MM*
