  • @monster1611...One tip I learned since making this video is that, because the leaves become dry and brittle, next time I am going to glue a couple of layers...maybe more...of tissue paper or even used dryer sheets to the back of each leaf to give it some stability. I ended up not being able to use those particular leaves because they broke too easily. Glad you learned something useful...us artists can gain a lot if we share some of our techniques and tips with each other.

  • Thank you for uploading this! the canvas is lovely. I was really interested in doing some gold leaf stuff, and the pen looks really good, much less tricky than the paper. I love what you did with the leaves, you've really inspired me to use actual leaves in some of my work, thank you :)

  • Mom, you've done so many mediums of art over your lifetime, but I truly believe you may have found your forte! I love what you're doing.

  • Thanks, Kiddo. You get an extra hug at our next visit...you're such a sweetie. If nothing else, I'm having fun. Besides, you ran out of room for my gourd art so I had to switch to something you could hang on the wall! LOL !

  • cant wait till your done donna to see how it turns out! i love it so far!

  • love the small canvas Donna and the larger one is comming along really nice love the colours your working with .

    hugs crissi xx

  • Thanks!!! The small canvas was definitely fun...and with pretty quick results, too. Somehow not so intimidating. Purple with green is one of my favorite color combinations.

  • Thanks! One nice thing about the foil pen is that it takes on the texture of whatever you apply it to so the veins of the leaves were really visible and the velvet still had the texture of velvet. I enjoy using it.

  • Very pretty first canvas! The larger one is very pretty too. It reminds me of a patchwork quilt. One in which every patch means something special. I love what you did with the foil pen. I bet the texture looked great where you were.

  • beautiful!

  • Thank you, Lisa!

  • I love the flowers. Beautiful.

  • Thank you so much! :-).
